Another way to limit TS3 FPS

Some people encountered errors with the FPS Limiting method I posted few days earlier and because of that, another method of FPS limiting was found. In fact one such person in particular, aka Radical Clown Friend has found a better way to limit Sims 3 FPS both for windowed and fullscreen modes, with just a few clicks. The only problem with this method is that you have to make an account at NexusMods to download the limiter, but that’s easy as accounts there are free.

BEFORE WE START

If you’ve followed my OLD GUIDE, you need to do these steps first: - For 1.67, delete:

3booter.exe

FPSLimiter.exe

HookHelper.dll

Limiter_D3D9.dll

- For 1.69, if your files are named like this:

Rename them back to:

TS3.exe  to  3booter.exe

TS3W.exe  to  TS3.exe

TS3W.exe.backup  to  TS3W.exe

Then delete same files as for 1.67

If you’ve also installed my new launcher, and don’t want to bypass the launcher delete Sims3Launcher.exe and rename Launcher.exe back to Sims3Launcher.exe If you still however do want to bypass the launcher, skip this step and read on.

If you’ve never followed my older FPSLmiter fix tutorial, you can skip these initial steps completely!

Now that we have that set up…

The fix is extremely simple. You go to this nexus download page:

If you haven’t had an account there before, make it, it’s free. Once you are done and have your own account, go back to this download link.

Scroll down a bit, click *Manual Download*

Then a new page will show up. Click *Slow Download*

A .rar file should have downloaded. Open and extract the contents of it to C:/Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin or C:/Program Files x(86)/Origin Games/The Sims 3/Game/Bin (or whatever your install location of the game is).

And that’s it. Your game can be ran normally like you’ve always ran it before. The FPS will be limited to 30FPS by default.

HOWEVER! You can open antilag.cfg with notepad and edit your desired FPS limit to any FPS you want. My recommendation is 60FPS.

THAT IS NOT ALL

There is few more things if you truly want to have a clean experience.

If you are on 1.69 but aren’t using 3booter, I’ve made another .exe file specifically for normal games to bypass the launcher. Get it from here:

- If you have installed my old one, you can just replace it with this new one.

- If you haven’t had my launcher bypass before, rename your original game launcher from Sims3Launcher.exe  to  Launcher.exe and then place this file in the game install bin (where the launcher is).

Run the game trough this launcher if you want to bypass the original one. Don’t forget to create a new shortcut for it and ALWAYS RUN IT AS ADMIN!

You can still use the original launcher by launching Launcher.exe

I’ve completed and (hopefully) ironed out all the items in the Colonial Revival Set! The windows and the four panel door come in one-tile and two-tile variants. The other doors are meant for exterior use, and are all on two tiles. I already have ideas for additions to this set, but I’ll save those for later.

So now I’ll put in for a Sim File Share account, but in the meanwhile I’ve created a temporary download link via Firefox Send (just in case y’all are eager). The link will expire after 100 downloads or a week.

The terms of use are simple: be moral. I’ll create a proper terms-of-use page soon. I’d also greatly appreciate being told of any problems you encounter with the assets. The two large doors were cloned from the similar-looking Ambitions door, so Ambitions is required. The windows were cloned from the windows that were patched in around Supernatural. Everything else is cloned from basegame objects.

So Captainsimerica, aka Kimberly, suggested that I make this available in a darker tone, so I made two chocolate tone ramps and darkened the skin just a bit with the burn tool in PS! Again not perfect but it’s just the same skin on a dark ramp! Also in CAS it has a highlight on the body, but in game it goes away! Enjoy!

Cooking is by far and away my favorite and most used skill in the Sims 3, so I’m always looking for new kitchen objects.
