FAQ about USB C Docking. -BoRun Internal Trainning.

In order to serve our customers more professionally and efficiently. Last friday we had a internal trainning about USB C HUB product line and here are some FAQ there normally you cared about. 1. What is the difference about USB C Hub and USB C Docking? Hub is a simple converter but docking mostly refer to Multiple ports converter. 2.What mainstream Display ports we mostly have in our USB C HUB/Docking devices? DP:Display port VGA:1080P 60MHZ HDMI 4K 30MHZ Right now we have one model UW002, it with all mainstream ports for daily works, also it supports Dual sync. display, but when they working sync. both will be only with 1080P, if you prefer to own Dual 4K, then only way is DP+HDMI.

Maybe you will be curious if change to DP the price will be much higher? actualy all dipslay signal original in DP, the DP signal released from CPU, if with HDMI we have to add a Video convert chipset and it increases the cost. Mainstream chipset proposal of HDMI is PS176 So far, it is a chipset which support 4K 60MHZ, but why it only says 4K 30mhz when integrated as a hub? This because of band. PS176 is a proposal with HDMI 2.0. if HDMI need to reach at 4K 60HZ it at least need 20G band, even the output could come with 4 LAN, but only with 2 LAN as input, (type c with Max. 10G Band , 4 LAN). other 2 LAN is for USB . We could see PS186 in the marketing with 8K display, but this proposal need more time to be mature and that maybe an option for us to own as USB C Docking station. 3. If we have to reach 8K, how can we solve the band problem? Right now we heard maybe Thunderbolt will be a mainstream port in the nearly future. Thunderbolt 3 have been applied for Apple Macbook but Thunderbolt 4 is not released yet, but we have news to said it maybe will get its authorization released to USB IF.   4. PD AutoModel. PD is not ony for charging, it is a protocol for Charging, Datas, Signal etc. PD auto Model is a video signal. also it is a branch of PD protocol. with rules it could be worked and command the device how to work. All USB/SD/TF/RJ45/Audio both generated byUSB Signel, but when it get the source from HDMI, it will release the order and get 2 Lanes for HDMI, this called Auto Model.
