Today is World Hunger Day, which falls on May 28th of each year. This day was launched in 2011 by The Hunger Project to raise awareness about the global hunger crisis and encourage sustainable efforts to eradicate hunger.

This day is an opportunity to participate in hunger-fighting efforts, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness through social media. It also highlights the importance of improving maternal nutrition as a fundamental step to breaking the cycle of malnutrition that has been passed down through generations.

This is a very important day for Gaza, where hunger and severe malnutrition are omnipresent among its children. My children are among those who see a full stomach as an unattainable dream, experiencing nothing but fear, hunger, and deprivation of their most basic rights. They need your support to live a life like your children's, a life every child deserves. Don't say you can't do anything, but do what you can do here. Interact and donate to my children who have suffered from malnutrition due to the hunger that has not left them since the beginning of the war because of the high prices. I ask you from the bottom of my broken heart to save my children and donate here.

Please don’t ignore this, it’s a matter of life or death.

We are a family of ten trying to survive in northern Gaza amidst bombs and famine. Today we managed to buy flour, only 2 kilos for about $80. Such a huge dent in our budget for something that won’t even fill our stomachs. We’re hungry, I swear we’re so hungry. My four-year-old sister has taken to screaming out the window about all the foods she wants but can’t have. Then, at night, she cries because her stomach hurts. Her spine is showing through her skin and I’m powerless.

On the other hand, our landlord is trying to price us out of our “appartment”, which is really one room in ruins with no electricity, no running water, no windows, no door. We’ve tried looking for another place to rent but everything is too expensive. Without a roof over our head, we’ll be even more exposed and we won’t survive for long.

I feel like people have lost interest in our situation. All day and night I worry about how to bring back enough donations that we can keep paying rent and have at least one meal a day, but I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know what will grab people’s attention. I feel like I’ve already said everything about our situation.

Please help, I swear I’ll be thankful for anything. If you can’t afford to donate, then please at least share and I won’t ask more of you. Please.

Sure they ain’t picnicking at a public hanging anymore but you seen how many more missing posters there’s been the past few years in particular right? How so many Black and Brown children are just fuckin disappearing too and never making anything more than a Facebook missing post?

We just only hear about them when someone cares about them enough to set fire to everything until it gets noticed.
