Famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is a big influence on many game designers we noticed, including the team that created the Mass Effect game trilogy as you can see by the Earth Alliance concept art.

Team Ico’s Fumito Ueda was inspired by the work of French artist Gerard Trignac when designing Ico’s iconic castle. Today we present some of their beautiful work side by side.

Japanese artist Katsuya Terada - known to me previously only for his late 80's Zelda illustrations - sold out last year in a rare US solo-exhibit. Reportedly most of the larger pieces were bought by the president of Nike.
These amazing black and white drawings were made with a simple black marker and I lust to have one :) You can see all the work here: http://www.compoundgallery.com/Artist/index.php?main_page=artist&cid=42
