But if you aren't... A ramble about why I specifically love him is under the cut :))

Akechi is a character that if you look closely enough, you'll see some gemstones of his story. To me, those gemstones are the mystery of where he is post game, the grief of reading into his place in the p5 hierarchy, and the absolute feral feeling of him not knowing what is and isn't going to be a threat (especially post engine room). That unbridled rage being hidden behind a mask because any other way he'd be dead or dying? Tasty. Wonderful.

The "starving, caged animal forced to wear a bow and call itself a rarity" trope, as I have dubbed it, is one of my favorites. Watching someone discreetly break down and lose everything, but having to put on a happy smile and talk about their wonderful life is a delicious scrumptious thing. Part of why I like yusuke is because it felt like he was the antithesis of akechi in this way- he would be the "animal in a forest taken to be a zoo attraction". Akechi breaks down mentally and shows it mentally, while yusuke breaks down mentally (trust me bro trust PLEASE) and shows it physically.

Tldr; we all hate him but he has anger, trauma, and brown fawn eyes so how can I dislike him

Hey remember when US and Russia was all like “We’re the best!!! We’ve won the space race!!!!” But India sent a kick-ass space probe to Mars and the whole mission was fuel efficient, costed less and a roaring success in the first try and then they were like “…..wait no that can’t be true” and still have the audacity to call us “underdeveloped” or only view us as a ‘third world country’? :)

Have you ever looked closely at a car windshield?

The edge of the glass is painted where it is glued to the car but it has these small dots between the clear and painted glass.

These are there for a reason. When the sun hits the glass the painted areas and the clear areas will absorb heat at different rates. This causes the glass to expand and contract differently putting stress on the glass.

These dots help the glass to warm up more evenly over a larger area so the glass does not suffer stress that could cause it to spontaneously explode.

Fun fact: the Tesla cybertruck doesn’t have these.
