I'm so happy that Stevie Nicks is getting hers over and over again, especially in light of her new album and her tour with Fleetwood Mac. However, I really loathe "Best Of" lists, in general, and especially when an artist's entire discography is a "Best Of". Stevie Nicks is the embodiment of King Midas because everything she touches is pure gold, with the coinciding heartbreak.
I don't disagree with the NYT list, but I personally could ever pick a favorite Stevie track. Who could!? However, for reasons known and not known to me, I've been listening to "Silver Springs" a lot lately. It hurts so good and so very sad. Stevie's version is obviously perfect, but Lykke Li's cover is a modern take on the very haunting tune.
