Stuck in Fminor A physical computing project exploring generative sound synthesis using an arduino device and a metallophone. The software randomly generates different sequences of notes in F minor scale which is then translated in motion through servo motors.

COGITO_glove Descartes proposed the formula of "Cogito ergo sum" - I think therefore I am. And Lacan proposed the minimal distance presupposed in this line of thought, separating the two I's appearing in the sentence - the one that thinks and the one that is. This way, to think it means to identify with something that is other than the thinking subject, an identification with an x in the equation that is actually doing the thinking. "What do I think?", asks the thinking subject, "You think that you exist!", the x replies. In the digital frame of this loop, this x is appearing as a cartoony glove, a man-made product, a partial object, an organ without the not-properly-human body destined for. It serves as a vibrating 3d pivot point for the cartesian gesture. Evenly distanced rotations around it, cause the shifting of the spatial co-ordinates that would occur. The void appears due to the use this fourth (rotational) dimension of time. When the opening of the glove gets aligned with the viewer's eyes, the moment they would see through it, the void swallows it just for it to manifest itself through, again. In this oscillation the loop lets through a dimension that lies beyond it, or as Zizek would have put it, "The only way to get rid of the autonomous partial object is to become the object"- or at least, wear it.
