after five whole years, and two failed attempts - why is it you i still crave at 2am, when the vodka and cigarettes can’t scorch your name out of my god damn fucking throat?
the tears still slip silently down my cheeks like a shower in spring - the way they did the day you decided i wasn’t what you needed anymore.
god, why did i let you slip through my fingers… twice?

“I think you lost all interest in this world. You were disappointed and discouraged, and lost interest in everything. So you abandoned your physical body. You went to a world apart and you’re living a different kind of life there. In a world inside you.”

need one of those hugs that allow you to relax your muscles and feel the tension leave from your body before you press yourself further into their arms. one of those hugs that make you feel safe even if it’s just for that moment

“It’s easy to take off your clothes and have sex. People do it all the time. But opening up your soul to someone, letting them into your spirit, thoughts, fears, future, hopes, dreams… that is being naked.”

“Sometimes people say terrible things when they’re scared. They don’t mean to, but they can’t help it. They lash out because if they can see that their words hurt someone else, it makes them feel as if they aren’t completely powerless.”

a note to myself and anyone else who may need it..
i don’t know who needs to hear this but i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. things get tough, life is tough and sometimes it feels like you’re the only person going through it. social media is a hell of a thing. every photo is primed and perfected, everybody seems like they’ve got their sh*t together and it’s easy to feel left behind, but, when you scratch beneath the surface - we all have our own struggles. i’m always open about my mental health, the last year has been the toughest of my life, pandemic aside. the internal battles you fight that nobody will ever know about will only plague you for as long as you let them. from today, i’ve decided that i will choose to see the positives in my life. i will choose to put a bad day down to just that, a bad day - not a bad life. most of us are blessed with fresh water, roofs over our heads, an income to support our basic needs, family and friends who are worth their weight in gold. it’s so easy to get bogged down by your own thoughts and feelings but it’s always worth remembering that you’re not the only one. beneath the filters, makeup, inspirational posts and people who seem to have it all, we all have our own fights and insecurities. i don’t know who needs to hear this but i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. things get tough, life is tough and sometimes it feels like you’re the only person going through it. social media is a hell of a thing. every photo is primed and perfected, everybody seems like they’ve got their sh*t together and it’s easy to feel left behind, but, when you scratch beneath the surface - we all have our own struggles. i’m always open about my mental health, the last year has been the toughest of my life, pandemic aside. the internal battles you fight that nobody will ever know about will only plague you for as long as you let them. from today, i’ve decided that i will choose to see the positives in my life. i will choose to put a bad day down to just that, a bad day - not a bad life. most of us are blessed with fresh water, roofs over our heads, an income to support our basic needs, family and friends who are worth their weight in gold. it’s so easy to get bogged down by your own thoughts and feelings but it’s always worth remembering that you’re not the only one. beneath the filters, makeup, inspirational posts and people who seem to have it all, we all have our own fights and insecurities.
please check in on your strong friends who seem to have it all together. text that friend you haven’t heard from in a while, make plans, seize the day. you’re only here once, make it a life worth living. despite the battles, the turmoil and the negativity, there is always a way out. it’s okay to talk, it’s better than the alternative... and if you feel like you have nobody then my messages are always open. god knows, we’ve all had nights where we feel like breaking when it seems like there’s nobody around. humans have a wide range of emotions and that’s okay. feel them all, they are valid. put yourself first, always. so many people love you. keep fighting. you got this. positivity breeds positivity. it gets better, i am living proof of that 🧡
