I think I might actually have a weakness for gilded cage type of characters. Who had all their physical needs met their entire life, but were otherwise emotionally neglected.

I just feel like I relate a lot to it, as someone who had a fine childhood when it came to having what a child physically needs... but often felt like my emotions weren't taken seriously and didn't even find out I was neurodivergent until adulthood, which in hindsight explained so much about how I processed things differently.
