A Dream of Myanmar from HINDSIGHT on Vimeo.
Myanmar. A country that has been sleeping for a long time wakes up. With cameras in hand we try to capture the unique culture and stunning nature of this beautiful country before it changes irreversibly.
On one hand exploring Myanmar feels like stumbling into a living edition of the National Geographic: elephants leading processions of novice monks through dusty towns, a fruit seller carrying a basket of mangoes on her head: a fulfilment of the oriental fantasies of the West.
On the other- a country embracing its newly won identity rushing headlong into the future to catch up with the rest of the world: traditional Burmese sarongs meet singlets and baseball caps. Cheroot cigars become cigarettes.
‘This is Burma', wrote Rudyard Kipling. ‘It will be quite unlike any land you know about.’ Amazingly, over a century later, Myanmar retains the power to surprise and delight. Also for entirely new different reasons.
We filmed with two Fujifilm XT-2 cameras equipped with the following Fujinon lenses: 35mm f/2.0, 23mm f/2.0, 80mm f/2.8 18-55mm - f/2.8-4.0 supported by Samyang 12mm f/2.0 and Zhiyun Crane v2.

Japan - Neons & Sakuras from Oliver Astrologo on Vimeo.
Japan is by the definition the blend of ancient traditions with advanced technologies but while this might sound as an insuperable contrast, the fast-paced life of Tokyo with this shiny neon sci-fi style lights combined with the enchanted and mysterious landscapes of Wakayama where temples and nature live together in harmony make this a country that everybody look with admiration.
Let this video inspire you to discover and go beyond the standard Japanese itinerary because every corner of this land is worthy of celebration.

The Icebreaker. Short film by Timelab.pro from Timelab Pro on Vimeo.
[email protected] - collaboration with Timelab instagram.com/timelab.pro/
This video was shot in the Arctic Ocean in March 2018. For 7 days our crew passed through the Barents Sea to Karsky around the Novaya Zemlya archipelago on the nuclear icebreaker Yamal - we saw the northern lights and polar bears, watched the ships stuck in the ice being towed, and were very cold.
In the video you can see two icebreakers - “50 Years of Victory” and “Yamal” with a capacity of 75,000 horsepower and a distinctive shark mouth, which appeared on it in 1994 during one of the children's humanitarian programs. According to legend, someone suggested drawing a smiling shark mouth on the nose to make it more fun for children. At present, Russia has the only nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet in the world. They are used to provide wiring ships in the ices of the Northern Sea Route in the freezing ports of the Russian Federation, research expeditions, rescue operations and tourist cruises.
In addition to the extreme weather conditions, the shooting was complicated by the fact that the icebreaker was always in motion. And if the drone was flying over the radar tower, the recording file was damaged.

Transsiberian Dream - 7.923 km from Beijing to Moscow from Dennis Schmelz on Vimeo.
Click here for the German version: vimeo.com/286490810
The Trans-Siberian Railway, another dream come true! The world's longest railway line starts from Moscow and runs 9,288 kilometers through seven time zones to Vladivostok. In May 2017 I was able to document this unique 16-day trip aboard the legendary Zarengold train together with my colleague Christopher Schmid. We traveled the route in the opposite direction and deviated a little from the original route (Trans-Mongolian Railway). Our journey took us along 7,923 km (nearly 5,000 miles) of rail from Beijing via Erlian, through the Gobi desert to Ulaanbaatar, on to Ulan-Ude, along Lake Baikal to Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and finally to Moscow. From the rickshaw ride through Beijing, a night in a Mongolian yurt, a bath in the five degrees Celsius cold Lake Baikal and the legendary vodka tasting aboard the Zarengold train - I sum up the highlights in my new short “TRANSSIBERIAN DREAM”. All aboard!

LUT PACKAGE: Because of the massive feedback and a lot of questions how I graded my short "Transsiberian Dream", I decided to release some of the LUTs that I used for this project: dennisschmelz.de/downloads.html The LUTs work with all kind of cameras but your footage should be shot in a flat picture profile (not created for LOG) like Cine2 or Cine4 on Sony cameras or Technicolor Cinestyle on Canon. After purchase you will get a Zip file with 6 LUTs (cube and look files). You can import and adjust the LUTs with every common editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, etc.).

LAPLAND | The Untouched from Riku Karjalainen on Vimeo.
Footage licensing: stockfootage.fi/lapland-the-untouched/
Lapland – the Untouched takes you to some of the remotest places in the Finnish wilderness. These uninhabited and roadless areas, home to Sámi people, have remained in their near-natural state hidden away from most of mankind – unspoilt, as they should be.
In the northernmost Lapland summer is over before it even begins. During the snow-free time the only way to reach the locations shown in the film is by foot. Lapland the Untouched covers 600km of hiking at Sápmi in 6 wilderness areas and in the Urho Kekkonen National Park and the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve.
I’ve done timelapse-films alone for quite some time now and doing everything on your own requires a lot. Carrying half of your weight in gear in the wild may be physically hard, but the greatest battles are fought in the mind. During the less pleasant moments you realise just how alone you really are and begin to understand what really matters the most. This theme and the extensive Lapland project inspired my shortfilm, The Importance of Being Alone vimeo.com/241365343
This project taught me to love and appreciate what I’ve got – not only the amazing people in my life, but also these breathtaking wilderness areas and natural vistas we all share. After witnessing the captivating beauty of these locations it’s appalling to think that similar places around the world are destroyed and exploited relentlessly by mankind and its foolish needs.
Timelapse and video material from this film is available for licensing in 8K and 4K resolutions. Contact me for inquiries: [email protected]

TRANS-SIBERIAN · TRANS-MONGOLIAN from J.J. Guillermo on Vimeo.
This is a short film on the centenary Trans-Siberian Railway. We embarked August 2017 expecting to live a romantic long train journey, but it wasn’t only that: we enjoyed 2 weeks of absorbing and great experiences, both on the train and in the cities we visited. We departed from Moscow and stopped in Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Baikal Lake and Ulan-Ude, the formerly closed city in which we took the Trans-Mongolian route to UlaanBaatar to after visit the spectacular Mongolian countryside. 101 years after it was completed, the Trans-Siberian still keeps the tranquility and nostalgia of an historical ride. -- A film by J.J. Guillermo Production by Raquel Delgado -- Technical: Cameras: Sony a7s, GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition Lenses: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM, Yongnuo 35mm f./2 GoPro Stabilizer: Feiyu G4s Edited in: Final Cut Pro X Music: "In the Distance" by Tony Anderson.
