Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Zora design

This fine lady is a guardswoman from the city of Zoalan, a Zora city in the Depths. It's a world that Tears of the Kingdom never gave us, and a world that I am happy to expand upon.

Fun fact about our guardswoman here; She's a species of Zora of which only the females grow to be adults. She's based off of the anglerfish, and "reproduction in certain deep-sea anglerfishes involves the permanent attachment of dwarf males to much larger females and fusion of their tissues leading to the establishment of a shared circulatory system," which in turn means the entire city guard is female!

The deep sea is so cool.

Link froze, instinct prickling at the back of his neck and making his damp hair stand on end. At first, he couldn't determine what had caught his attention, listening intently for the sounds of scuffling feet, the hiss of wings, or a malicious cry in the absence of sight. But there was nothing but the burbling of dark water and the persistent thrum heavy on the air.

Link blinked and realized abruptly what he had been missing when two faint glowing pinpricks, nearly hidden beneath the flickering reflection of the master sword against the black water, blinked back.

“Sidon?” Link stuttered in disbelief as it surfaced. Had the prince somehow fallen down here with him? Had he been a part of a search party?

But before Link could relax, a massive clawed hand latched upon the shore, close enough for him to realize that its skin was far from the familiar red and it was rising, rising, rising above him, stealing his breath with a fresh wash of alarm. That. Was not Sidon.

Or: Link stumbles into the Depths before the events of Tears of the Kingdom and finds a shiny new fishman.

So, I was feeling bored and uninspired with my current fandoms and then Avatar came in and slapped me in the face with ALL THE PRETTY. Also, Spider was the perfect specimen for the concept of body image and the damage of unreasonable societal expectations that I'd been ruminating on for a while. But, uh. It's also going to be super sweet and hurt/comforty, so don't let the heavy concept scare you away haha. (Also Neteyam is best brother, you can't change my mind.)

Spider couldn’t tell you when it came to his attention that he was different.

What would it be like, to just not think about this shit for once? What would it be like to walk amongst the people he loved and not worry about the reach of his limbs, the thickness of his waist, the lightness of his hair, or the roundness of his ears? What would it be like if he could simply be enough? For just a moment.

But that moment never came, and Spider was once again out on his own thinking about it.

Recently watched Avatar and then immediately had a vivid dream about an albino Na’vi and what that would mean for his bioluminescence and how it would affect his standing with his clan. Say hi to my glowing boy Rouek, we’ll be seeing more of him later ;P
