I very badly want to get to a place where I can, in fact, take the Shabbat Nap in between services on Saturday instead of having to work most of Shabbat. I want that structure more than anything - when I was visiting shul last weekend, I filled the time between morning and evening services differently, but it was still nice to have that space where my primary concern was just... waiting for the last service of the day to conclude.
I also want to get to a point where I feel it’s right to light Shabbes candles, and perform the other parts of genuinely welcoming in Shabbat. I can wait, don’t get me wrong - this process, including this period before I can start the official process, will take as long as it takes and I’ll adopt practices when the time is right. But being willing to wait as long as it takes doesn’t mean I’m not still yearning for it.
Even the meager things I do do on Friday evenings feel special, and I’m happy to be able to do what I feel comfortable doing right now, but I am eagerly looking forward to bringing the day in properly.

Introductions/About
Hi there! My name is Lynn, and I’m a university student in Canada who is also a prospective convert to Judaism primarily limited by not living close enough to a synagogue to begin the official process. I’m also 27 and a white trans woman nearing a year in her transition. My main blog is @radicalecks, which is just a hodgepodge of all sorts of stuff.
This blog is meant to be a chronicle of my journey towards, and eventually through, conversion. I want to have a record of my thoughts and feelings as I go about this, both for posterity’s sake and in order to sort out some of my thoughts and, generally, just journal about my experiences.
I will probably not be tagging many of my posts onto community tags at least for a while, maybe until I can begin officially converting. I will however attempt to tag any sensitive subjects I talk about, and if I miss a tag or I am not tagging something you want tagged then please tell me so I can correct the issue.
In any case, that’s the long and short of it. Expect a lot of personal posts and not a lot of reblogging.
