“I lost my chill one time after a lot of drinking and sexual frustration. I deserve a pass on that one.” Lawrence defended himself, stepping back an inch. “And who knows. Anybody.” He sighed and pushed his hair from his forehead. “I didn’t mean to scare anyone, and I don’t usually throw the first punch. Hell, I hardly hit back-!”
Kennedy scoffed, “like who?” Standing up from her bed she walked over to him, “Lawrence, you are an awesome person to chill with, but when you lose your chill… You get scary.” Kennedy didn’t want to say it, but it held her back.

Lawrence bit his tongue and frowned. “I don’t think that would be a good idea.”
Nix sighed as he opened the door and stood in the door way. “M-Maybe that should c-change?”

Lawrence stood by the door. “I couldn’t go if I tried.” he surrendered slowly. She broke his resolve down, and made him feel stupid for sticking around. “-but I’m not waiting forever, and I’m going to see other people.”
Looking down at her lap she sighed, “I’m sorry.” She couldn’t stretch herself ppany thinner then she already was. Looking up at him she couldn’t help but feel hurt, “So you’re just going to go? That’s it? You didn’t want anything else from me? My first time and that’s it?”

“You’re overthinking it, and thats whats ruining this.” Lawrence sighed. “We can’t be friends who hookup if we don’t hookup, Ken.” He stepped backwards, half convinced to leave. “If you trusted me I know you would feel better, but this is turning into a waste of my time.”
Kennedy shook her head, “I-I don’t know.” She sat herself on the bed and held her head up with her fist under her chin. Looking up at him she shrugged, “I don’t even know anymore. Part of me is saying go go go, but something always stops me, Lo.”

Lawrence sighed. "I'm not going to drop you like a piece of garbage after this I promise. We can still be friends, and believe me, I'll be the one who ends up ruining it." He pushed his fingers through her hair. "You're too pretty not to be looked at. Not to be touched."
“Um if you haven’t noticed, I have been trying.” Kennedy leaned her face into his hand, “I do trust you… I just don’t want to ruin everything.”

"How do you know it won't change it if you don't try? You want to feel different, right? So do something insane and irresponsible!" he answered. Lawrence followed her and touched her cheek. "I just want to do this with you. I want you to trust me."
Kennedy dropped her hands when he came closer, “What do you want from me, Lawrence?” She felt a tear roll down her cheek, “If it’s sex, I’m not ready for that. I keep saying it over and over again, and it’ll stay that way until I’m ready, okay?” Pushing the hair from her face she turned away from him and walked back to her bed, “I went to a place where they told me my body didn’t look right, and everything I had been doing made it worse, so ‘turning off the lights’ won’t change ay of that.”

"Oh come on." Lawrence groaned, rolling his eyes as the melodramatics began. "-Stop being so sensitive." He turned on his side and touched her shoulder, trying to see though her fingers. "If I go now, I'm not coming back."
Kennedy turned away from him when she felt her eyes get hot with tears. Conversations like this was what she feared most out of people. Under her breath she spoke in a sob, “I think you should go..” She covered her face as she took a deep breath. “Get out, Lawrence.”

"If you can't handle being friends the way I want us to be, I can't handle being your friend." Lawrence answered, sighing loudly. He brushed the curls from his forehead. "It's getting boring hearing you say things without actually telling me anything. So what if you don't like how you look? Turn the lights out!"
Kennedy felt guilty for what had been going on between them, “What do you want me to say? Because the truth is the last thing we need in this situation, Lawrence.” She got up and stood with her arms crossed in front of her small frame, “I can’t be a friends with benefits to the level you want. I’m not ready for that, okay? I’m not happy with the way I look without my clothes on, it may not matter much to you, but it sure as hell matters to me.”

"I can't do this and not that, Ken. It's hard to just turn it off!" Lawrence complained, his legs moving at her touch. "What's wrong? Why aren't you ready?" The brunette questioned quickly with a temper. He was starting to feel like a boyfriend, which wasn't what he had wanted going into this with Kennedy.
Kennedy sat up on the bed with her hands covering her face. This was the last thing she wanted to happen. After letting out a groaning sigh, she dropped a hand and placed it on his thigh. Passing her thumb along the fabric tight to his skin she softly spoke, “I’m sorry I’m not as quick to it as you want, Lo. I’m trying but I’m just..” She stopped her words, thinking she started sounding like a broken record.

His face fell as he felt her hand against his chest. "Right. Okay." Lawrence said, his voice rough. He cleared his throat and inched backwards, rolling over on his back as he stared at the ceiling of the tent. He rolled his eyes to himself slightly and sighed.
Kennedy felt her heart was going to beat out of her chest. Situations like these weren’t common for her until she started hanging around the male. She placed her hand flat on his chest pushing him up, “Well it’s a lot for me. I went from 0 to 100 since I’ve been here.” She didn’t want to push him away, but the risk wasn’t worth it.

"This is me holding back, Ken." Lawrence swallowed, looking at the small space between them. He was filled with a sense of urgency to kiss her again, but hesitated, biting his lower lip.
Ken’s eyes shot open and looked down to glared at him, “Shut up.” When he grazed it, the sting set in. But before she could complain about it anymore, she softly sighed at the feeling of his lips again. “You gotta stop this. You’re killing me.”

"I think I did." Lawrence chuckled, looking at a red skin on her neck. The mark he had made was noticeable, but he hadn't though of that when he was making it. He brushed it with his thumb lightly and pressed a soft kiss to the sensitive skin.
Kennedy chuckled as she tugged on his hair, “You are so lucky you’re all bruised up. Because that deserved a smack.” Giving him a quick kiss she whispered, “You better not have fucking marked me.”

"Lo as in Lawrence, or low as in lower?" he teased, his breath tickling her ear. Lawrence pressed his hips against Kennedy's and sighed quietly, eyes closing as he kissed her jawline. "Because I could do that."
Kennedy was at a loss for words. She softly nodded at his answer not wanting him to leave where he was. She laced her fingers into his hair keeping him steady as she felt her heart beat faster. “Lo-“

"Is funny business allowed?" he asked, fully intending on spending the night with her. Kissing and breathing hotly up her neck, he fixated on a spot beneath her ear and murmured wordlessly. Lawrence smirked to himself, the medication he had taken finally kicking in and dulling the pain.
"Do I have to spell it out?" she joked. Kennedy closed her eyes and tilted her chin up when she felt his lips on her. "S-sleep with me," she breathed out. Her wording wasn’t completely true, but it’s all she could make out.
