✧ Concerned. Shu isn't the type of person to dabble in gacha games, the only gacha he's encountered is just the randomized skins for the weapons in Valorant - but he hasn't outright spend a lot of times on gacha centered games, let alone had the urge to gamble away for a small chance of luck.

✧ So suffice to say, he's wondering how you don't blink whenever you make another big purchase when he watches you play whatever gacha game you're playing. Choking a tiny bit whenever that "Purchase succesful!" text pops up across the screen after a hefty purchase.

✧ And as much as Shu is a preacher of: "Spend your money however you like it, since it's money you've earnt," he does try to convince you to not spend so much whenever he's around, urging you. But he's not pushy about it. "As long as you know your limits, babe. Just be mindful of just how much you're spending alright?"

✧ He's dabbled in it like once or twice, gacha games that is. Wasn't his things and he's never looked back since - but he can get where the temptation to pull comes from. With all the pity system and huge bold text saying that every 10th pull is a guaranteed something.

✧ And Ike, like the sweet boy he is tries to use that logic on you too. But while you're just nodding away to his explanations, only to do another huge purchase the novelist sighs in defeat. ✧ At first he's hyping you up, because he doesn't believe that you would be willing to spend your money with just one click from your thumb. So he's all laugh and jokes, even throwing a comment. "Go ahead babe! I'm sure this next one will surely be it, trust me!"

And you go silent when the item or character you wanted appears on the screen. "Haha! See, told you it would work when I pulled!"

✧ Actually makes a whole bet with you to see who can get their desired character/item first before the other. You're both in this hellhole together, might as well make it interesting while your wallet cries from your choices.

✧ Shoves it in your face when he gets what he wants before you, and vice versa - all in good companionship. Sorta. Speechless a few times when he stops himself from spending only to see you make another big purchase like. "Damn, do you have a second job that I don't know of? Where all this money coming from?"

✧ However, he knows how to stop you. Money is precious, Mysta knows that more than anyone how hard it can be at times without money - so as much as he wants the characters or items like you, he also manages to convince you to not pull more. "Hey! They'll come again in the near future, and then you'll get them, but for now just use the ones you already got! Who knows maybe you'll like them better than this one!"

✧ Heck the roles are reversed here, compared to Vox you're like a dolphin with how he makes multiple purchases on the go before exiting the store. If anything it's helping you realize that: "Wow, that's a lot of money."

✧ When he sees you spend money though, he himself hypes you up, but in the same sentence also makes sure to remind you to not get too carried away. "I'm sure you can get that character, darling. But if you don't get them when you hit the pity, do stop there for the time being. You can do that can't you?"

✧ But hey, if you have the money to spend money and know your limits, then he's not stopping you. He does it himself, he's no hypocrite after all. "Ohh, you lost the 50/50 again, don't worry love, I'm sure you can get this next one for sure."

synopsis: uki only has one guest bedroom and doesn’t see the problem with ren and kyo sharing a bed, but kyo does ;)

“are you kidding me?” kyo grumbled. not only was he forced in the back seat with ren, completely pressed against him because fulgur occupied the front seat, but now he was forced to share a room with him too? it’s not that he disliked ren, he just liked his personal space. yeah. that’s all.

“you act like i’m a germ” ren pouted tossing his suitcase on a chair uki had in the corner while kyo stared at his own bag that was on the bed. “i’m sorry but i usually don’t like sharing a bed with a man-alien?-man alien? i just met.” kyo huffed, puffing his cheeks out in annoyance. “i know it isn’t the best circumstance either..but i promise to respect your boundaries! would you prefer i slept on the floor?” ren asked starting to take out his tooth brush and other things he’d need to get ready for bed. “yes..” kyo grumbled.

boy did he regret that. kyo looked over at the clock, 11:37 pm, not once had ren complained about having to lay on the hardwood with a little pillow and a blanket that didn’t even cover his whole body due to his height. “oh my god fine-“ he whispered before sitting up and flicking a light on. “just get on the bed ren.” ren was very quick to listen, climbing up on the other side of kyo. though he noticed the smaller one doing something interesting. he built a wall of pillows between them. one he couldn’t even see kyo over. ren didn’t say anything about it, just laid down on his respective side of the pillow fort.

as time went on, kyo finally fell asleep and ren was left awake with his thoughts. he knew that kyo obviously didn’t think that greatly of him and now he was forced to share a bed with that same person? ren would be annoyed too. so there he laid. refusing to move a muscle, refusing to fall asleep. he didn’t want to take the chance of accidentally breaking the literal boundary kyo had set between them. eventually ren looked over, a small smile on his face when he’d noticed that kyo had just about knocked down his own pillow wall. he gently pulled the covers up on kyo, making sure he was safe and comfortable. ren completely laid down now. figuring the best idea was to close his eyes and get some rest.

the next time ren woke up was when he felt something nudge him a couple times. rather than seeing an angry awake kyo, there was a sleeping thrashing one who seemed to be overwhelmed by a dream he was having. ren wasn’t totally sure what to do at first but he could definitely tell this nightmare wasn’t good for kyo. gently ren decided to wake him, “kyo..?” he whispered softly shaking the others shoulder. at first kyo didn’t move at all, just continuing to cry in his sleep. in a last ditch effort, ren sat up and flicked a light on. he then quickly pulled kyo into his arms and just held him tightly. “it’s okay kyo..” he whispered.

that’s how they stayed for a minute until kyo woke up. rather than fighting ren like usual, he was quick to cling to rens shirt while driving his face in the taller ones neck. “i know..it’s okay..” ren whispered again, gently rocking the two of them together. kyo just cried softly, keeping his head hidden almost as if he was shameful. “i know it’s not much..but if you need me to i can let go, i didn’t want to overstep-“ ren was immediately cut off by kyo clinging even harder to him. “okay..” he laughed softly, “i’ve got you. i don’t need to let go just yet.”

ren adjusted them slowly, moving so his back was up against the headboard and kyo was ragdolled in his lap with his head on rens chest. “just follow the sound of my breathing to regulate your own, yes?” ren smiled gently rubbing at kyos back who just nodded. if ren was honest, apart of him was enjoying this. ren was always a physical person and this is how we best showed his love, even if it was platonic. “can i do anything else for you kyo?” ren asked, moving some of kyo’s hair out of his face to see him properly.

“just stay..” was the first thing kyo had said since he woke up. clearly what ren was doing was working to calm kyo down so the alien boy decided to stay put. he talked to kyo about random things like how he met uki, his favourite type of music, and why he hates his home planet. after awhile, kyos responses stopped coming, all that was left was lil soft snores and breathing sounds. ren had successfully put him back to sleep. with a small smile ren slowly laid down, kyo still pressed against his chest as he did so. with a small kiss to kyos temple ren pressed him close before closing his own eyes and getting some much needed rest.

in the morning when he got up, kyo seemed to be slightly confused as to why he was in a bundle of snuggles with ren. it took him about a minute before he remembered the previous nights events. he whimpered slightly in protest due to having been so open and vulnerable, something he usually wasn’t okay with. he shifted slightly, checking his phone not only for the time but to see if uki had messaged anything to him about plans for the day.

during all of this, ren had slowly woken up. subconsciously he pulled kyo in tighter, head immediately sinking into the boys neck. “ren…?” kyo asked just a little dumbfounded by the aliens sudden confidence. there was no reply. ren had fallen back asleep like this. kyo just laughed softly, patting his shoulder as he uttered.

“rest well…ren.”

"You didn't tell me it would rain today!" Ike groans while patting himself dry, shaking his head to get the rain droplets away while you rummage through your bag for the keys to your apartment.

"Because the weather report didn't tell me it was going to rain!" you cry as you turn the lock and open the door, immediately letting out a sneeze the moment you and Ike are inside - the novelist perking glancing over at your drenched form with a sigh.

"And you didn't even bring a coat, no wonder you're trembling more than a newborn deer," he says with a sigh, ushering you towards the bathroom. "Go take a warm shower, I'll grab some dry clothes for you, seeing that we're not going to go out anytime soon in this downpour."

Rummaging through your closet, he gets a a new set of clothes for himself before he fishes out a pair of sweatpants for you. But in the midst of trying to find a comfortale top when his eyes spot a familiar hue of white amongst the pile of folded shirts. Cocking his head to the side, he stares at it for a moment. "Did they buy a similar one...?" he wonders out loud, but shakes himself out of his thoughts when he hears the water turn off from the bathroom.

"You done, dear?" Ike asks while opening the door, placing the change of clothes for you both on the cupboard. Glancing over at you, he smiles softly at your slightly flushed face - most likely caused by the hot shower you just finished. "I told you to just take a warm shower, but it feels like a sauna in here," he murmurs, grabbing an unused towel to quickly dry your hair. "Dry up quickly and put on some clothes okay?" he says, brushing past you while unbuttoning his own shirt to take a quick shower.

20 minutes later and Ike is waltzing into the living room while drying his hair with a towel while his eyes glance around the room to look for your figure. He soon spots you on the far corner of the couch, legs pulled towards your chin while you sip on a hot beverage.

And once again his eyes look at the shirt you're wearing, now noticing the slight shredded fabric at the sleeve, a shred he is familiar making a week ago. "... Is that my shirt?" he questions, already by your side and rubbing the part where the shirt is torn. You only cheekily grin back at him as a response. "Ahaha, busted quicker than I thought." you reply with a sheepish smile.

"Well I would've figured it one way or another being that you stole my favorite shirt of all things," he tells you, leaning his head against your shoulder while you pass him the beverage you were drinking. "But it looks good on you, and makes it even more clear that you're mine." he whispers, to which you chuckle.

hello! welcome to my first fic ever for nijiEN! this is based of a prompt, “kyo & ren meet for the first time when kyo falls asleep on ren during a train ride.” i really hope you guys enjoy! ⭐️

it’s always the unexpected meetings you have that leave such a meaningful impression. this is something that ren truly always believed.

though he wasn’t too particular about taking the train this time of night, he knew he didn’t exactly have a choice. he was meant to be meeting up with uki. a long time friend who lived a bit of a distance from him. for uki, he would travel at any time of night. it didn’t matter. if uki needed ren, ren would be there.

much to his suprise, upon boarding the train ren was immediately shocked to find it so full. who the hell needed a train four cities over at 3 am? it kinda baffled him. luckily for ren he found a spot near the very back no one had sat in, mostly because it was blocked off with a no sitting sign which he carelessly discarded and sat down anyways.

most of his ride was good. mostly just him listening to his music, adjusting his hoodie as to not show his horns every five seconds. then it happened. around 5:30 am a boy plopped down next to him. clearly exhausted, loudly catching his breath. at this point in time ren panicked, quickly pretending to be asleep for his own sake.

then he heard the boy speak, “yes aster i’m fine-yes-yes aster i’m on the train and i’m fine you can go to bed!” he whisper yelled before the train went quiet again. if ren was honest, the voice that came from the boy sounded nothing how he looked. this made him smile internally.

around 6 am is when he felt it. a bit of pressure on his arm. pulling his gaze away from the sunrise, ren looked down the his arm to find the source. there it was. the smaller blue haired boy, passed out slump against his arm. with a small smile he looked around. noticing it was just them left he pulled the hoodie off himself and draped it over the other.

and that’s how they stayed until ren had no choice but to wake the boy up. gently tapping him he heard a few noises, a little sleepy groan, and then finally blue eyes were looking back into his. “wha-“ suddenly filled with realization the boy practically flung himself off of ren and completely back into his normal seat, not before throwing rens hoodie back at him of course.

“good morning?” ren laughed, smile wide and bright. “i’m not sure where you’re headed small one but this is the final stop and we need to get off.” he smiled gathering his things like it was nothing. “small one!?” a voice immediately called, “well you didn’t exactly tell me your name before you used me as a bed.” ren was quick to fire back.

silence.

a whole minute of silence before he spoke again.

“kyo. just call me kyo. anything is better than that nickname.” he sighed gathering his own things. after both boys got off the train they faced eachother, one clearly looking more happy than the other.

“so, where are you headed kyo?” ren asked as if he didn’t meet this person less than two minutes ago. “wouldn’t you like to know weather boy.” kyo sighed softly before realizing that may have come off too rude, “my friends..” he sighed again after a moment. “me as well.” ren smiled before extending a hand,

“it was lovely meeting you kyo. my name is ren.”

before kyo could even answer there was a loud voice calling both their names,

“so you’ve met!! how lovely!”
