Steven has PTSD please stop ignoring it

(Please take some time to read this, it’s important to me. There isn’t much writing it’s mostly screenshots)

I have seen barely any posts about Steven’s mental health. You’re all racking up his anger to ‘being a teenager’ but that’s so clearly not the case. Here is a couple of screen shots and quotes for evidence:

“You’ve always been a fusion, you’ve always had your friends! You are NOTHING without them” in the full clip of this, you can just see face drop when she says that. So many times he’s been almost killed and had a gem yell at him in his face about him being worthless, this is probably a trigger for him hence why he started crying and—

— turns pink. Also him snapping and turning violent, he never wants to feel helpless like he always has to when a gem tries to kill him. He’s been through it so much. And even after HE apologises when he didn’t need to. PTSD triggers like this that send you into a rage makes you feel like a awful, awful person afterwards.

“This was all Pink Diamond!” “My mom?..” he’s put back and disturbed by even the mention of his mom, I think it’s trigger for him. And right after—

— He apologise and vaguely explains why he turned pink, he looks so uncomfortable and scared at the mention of her and while explaining his reaction

“It doesn’t matter! I’m gonna fix it” he literally starts shaking, blocking his ears and holding his head.

“Stop it! I can’t deal with one more horrible thing that she did!” He snaps at a trigger, and starts getting incredibly angry and emotional

“I don’t wanna hear about it! I don’t even wanna THINK about it!” Just his voice when he says this, he sounds so scared. And his delusional yelling and movements just scream how much he’s put off by his mum. (HELP him)

There’s probably gonna be so much more in the future. But please stop just calling this ‘hormones’, this isn’t how hormones work. This poor kid has a mental illness. And even in the last 5 seasons there’s so much more for him to be absolutely traumatised for.

The truth about BPD.

We are untreatable. No one wants to study us or find viable ways of helping. That’s why we get misdiagnosed for Bipolar Disorder for insurance gain - because if people knew what we truly were, we wouldn’t have a cent.

I talked to a therapist at my University about this and she told me no medical professional actively treat BPD. To them, we are a waste of time. They believe we can’t change or come out of it. We are so broken that even people who are suppose to help us think we are just a waste of time.

There are no success stories. We just…are alive. That’s success enough. We are tragic. Every day we think too much, our emotions heighten, we have no distinctive personality, our parents don’t love us - we’ve been thrown away.

And yet we still dont want to end it all. I think about that a lot.
