Don't forget that oh-so-repulsive shroud of respectibility derived from that popular word "consent". AS IF that were a useful basis for morality. 🙄
Polyamory? Seriously now?
Apparently, one of the many things that have gained popularity via tumblr is polyamory. Not that I am surprised with how widespread the phenomenon is, given the rampant promiscuity thriving in our age… And it was only a matter of time before people began defending polyamory as something good, positive and even equally virtuous and valid as monogamy. I really shouldn’t be surprised but the shock has still not worn out. And then, along come some little “gems” such as this one: “Cheating and polyamory are not the same! Cheating is done behind someone’s back, polyamory is built upon mutual love and respect!”
…I’m sorry, what? Lemme check the dictionary
cheat (v. Intr.)
1a : to practice fraud or trickery (denied the accusation that he cheated) : to violate rules dishonestly (cheat at cards, cheating on a test)
2: to be sexually unfaithful —usually used with on (was cheating on his wife)
3: to position oneself defensively near a particular area in anticipation of a play in that area (the shortstop was cheating toward second base)
(Merriam-Webster)
So, since there is by definition no exclusivity in polyamory, how can there be any notion of faithfulness in such a setting? Polyamory, plain and simple, is just sleeping around while letting your partner know. Consensual cheating, so to say. Still cheating, though.
And as it turns out, nowadays you can justify pretty much any behaviour as soon as you claim that it is based on “love and mutual respect”. Respect for what, in this case? If you think that by letting your partner and yourself be subject to your instincts and sleep around, just because it’s agreed upon, you are “respecting” him/her or yourself, I think you might want to rethink your priorities in life.
From the moment that promiscuity is considered a virtue, it will not be long, especially with how the modern western mindset works, before chastity and self-control come to be seen as vices.
(Funnily enough, isn’t it interesting that all the fuss nowadays is (quite rightly so) in not seeing people as sexual objects, but at the same time, promiscuity is glorified virtually everywhere?)

they won't tell you this in therapy but sometimes the best way to stop catastrophizing/anxiety is to interrupt your spiraling with "girl what the hell are you talking about"

being a writer is wild
like there are some days where all the words click into place and the sentences flow like silk and then there are other days where your plot is undergoing radioactive decay and you're about to punch through your laptop screen in frustration

If you pander to the crowd with your art, you will become a machine that spits out the muddy desires of the masses. If you point your art directly where God sheds light on your internal compass, you will change the vision of hundreds or thousands... maybe more.
An artist perfectly going after their personal vision and executing it will always be more interesting and valuable than art being changed to fit the desires of the “fans”

If you are a porn blog, you are blocked and reported with all rapidity. I want to have nice things, and there are other places for you to put that garbage in the internet.
Since I've picked up several new followers over the last couple days, let's clear some things up.
I'm an unapologetic Christian with all that entails.
One's sex is immutable.
Marriage is one man and one woman.
Israel has the right to exist and defend itself.
Abortion is murder and infanticide.
Jesus Christ is King and Lord.

Yeah.
*thinks about spending hours immersing myself in the cultural research required to accurately give a name to someone and how much I learned and how much I was able to use in the rest of the plot and world-building*
Yeah, so?
writers will spend 3 hours naming a character that shows up for 2 seconds

i feel like we as a digital society have forgotten the important rules of the internet
Don't feed the trolls
Never give out personal information
Anonymity is the best defense
Don't click suspicious links
Don't click popups and ads
Just because it's written doesn't mean it's true
You are responsible for your own experience
There is porn of everything, act accordingly
