Nabi got into SM Entertainment through auditions in 2010. She became a SM Rookie member in 2015. And her debut was aunaunced in 2016 with her fellow members.

She started to train with the boy trainees, two years before her debut. But wasn't included in for their concert shows or schedules.

Her stage name was chosen bu herself. She adores butterflies as she said, and her mother haber the idea of the name Nabi. That's also why her represented animal and emojis are a butterfly.

She was born in Incheon, South Korea. But grew up in Chicago, United States. But turned to Korea when her parents got divorced when she was 9. She never wanted to quit her school but after her debut she started going to the SOPA. She used to want to become an actor and teacher.

Nabi started dancing on her own and learned many choreos by herself. She was called as the "Innocent Monster Rookie of SM" before her debut. She and Johnny were neighbours back in Chicago. One of the biggest reasons she auditioned for SM.

She likes watching movies and learning new words from different languages. She also likes to read books. The first thing she did as she moved to her own house in 2022 was to build a library room.
