That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

Bo Lavellan's Vibe Sheet
Figured I'd post this after stowing it for months waiting for Veilguard. I have nothing to call this other than a 'vibe sheet'. No worries about style matching, shading, or colors really. Just vibes. No cleaning the line art, either. Just. Vibes. I wanted to draw him at different ages in preparation for having to rebuild him in Veilguard. I've written all the notes I made down below, in case anyone wanted to read them without deciphering my squished handwriting (also added some from a word doc that went with this, under the cut because it's a lot)
"Baby Bo"
(0-7 years old)
Adopted into Clan Lavellan, by halla herder Sanehn, as a baby after being born in the Markham Circle to two mages. A young disillusioned templar from the Circle brought the baby to the Clan.
Full name is Boravarin
The youngest member of Clan Lavellan until 7 years old and is called "Baby Bo" by nearly everyone up until then. The Clan is very small
Is older sister Alin's near constant shadow
Nearly died of a mysterious, possibly fade-based, illness when he was six. Sanehn and his Uncle Ghal had to find a healer who (maybe?) practiced blood magic to save him. (i have an unposted fic of this lol)
Annoys the older children
The Clan trouble maker, but not on purpose. Bo just has a knack for getting into situations that needs an adults help to get out of.
Shows signs of being a mage very young (around 5)
The third mage in the Clan, there hadn't been any born into the clan in over two decades
Didn't want to be a mage, wanted to herd halla like mom! Very upset by the revelation.
"Bo, Second of Clan Lavellan"
(19-22 years old)
Doesn't feel 'Dalish enough'/adoptee identity problem
Avoids mage lessons like the blight, has no interest in being Second, First, or the future Keeper of Clan Lavellan
Would rather be napping in the grass with the halla
Clan fully accepted his gender transition, around the same time he was given his vallaslin, (Ghilan'nain, boy does he regret this one years down the road)
Some of the clan members he grew up with have trouble recognizing him as a (minor) authority figure within the Clan
The tallest in Clan Lavellan, very tall for an elf.
"Bo, First of Clan Lavellan"
(22 years old)
Made First after the one before him was killed in an attack
Face scar/nostril injury from defending Clan in said attack
Avoids responsibility to play in the woods
Can nap anywhere (no halla required!)
Snuck off after older sister to the Conclave. He wasn't supposed to be there but Alin didn't tell him to go home. She let him tag along. They both knew their mother was likely on Bo's tail.
They were right, Sanehn was only one day behind them
"Herald of Andraste"
(23 years old)
Sister? Dead. (because of him, why did he reach for that orb?)
Hand? Fucked. (Alin told him not to grab it, but it was too late)
Scared out of his mind
Alone for the first time in his life
Mother, Sanehn, arrives a day after the temple explosion. Bo fears she will blame him for Alin's death (she doesn't).
Everyone is looking to him for answers just because of the mark on his hand. He's terrified.
Sort of attaches himself to Solas, who he sees as a stand-in big brother figure to fill the hole Alin left, and enjoys listening to his stories about the fade, history, etc. Solas finds it annoying, and the sibling-like bond Bo has with him is 100% one-sided, but Solas comes to appreciate Bo's curiosity.
"Inquisitor Lavellan"
(24-26 years old)
Trying to make the best of it (struggling)
Varric nicknames him "Dimples"
Sanehn is often at his side
Clan Lavellan, save for Bo and Sanehn, have been wiped out
Romancing: No one. Losing his sister at the Conclave and his clan dying in Wycome while he's expected to lead the Inquisition--all of his energy is committed to surviving. Though he makes friendships, he's in no place for romance until after the defeat of Corypheus.
There was a significant crush on Dorian, but Bo had some bias' he needed to deal with before he would ever pursue a human romantically/sexually. Especially one from Tevinter. They argued. A lot.
His mom and the Iron Bull, however, fall in love and Sanehn eventually joins the Chargers.
During this time, he learns through Leliana that of his birth parents were Circle mages and he has a significant lapse of faith--both his parents were likely Andrastian, and though he was raised Dalish, he's now being paraded as the Herald of Andraste. He doesn't feel Dalish enough again.
He also learns that, through his birthmother Celaine Surana, he's the nephew of Irulan Surana, the Hero of Ferelden. (saving Thedas runs in the family, though this is never made public). Celaine's location is unknown after the Markham Circle was affected by the mage rebellion.
Unfortunately, his birthfather, Nello Sadantha, died during his Harrowing shortly before Bo was born.
Falls in love with an elven Inquisition soldier from Orlais, Tamon, who dies months later, tragically and under strange circumstances. His death is never addressed by the Inquisition.
Has a daughter with said, dead, elven soldier. Venasal. She's four months old during Trespasser. Bo carried her himself.
Happily disbands the Inquisition, and vows to save Solas. He and Dorian agree to keep in touch through letters.
"Just Bo"
(26-33 years old)
He found his birth mother, but she was made Tranquil at her own insistence. Bo isn't happy, but accepts her because it was, in this case, her choice.
Having an absolute terrible time! Depression has been haunting him since Trespasser. The looming threat of Solas maybe ending the world isn't helping.
Doing his best to raise his daughter despite this, however.
He's not as smiley nor makes jokes as much as he used to, his friends and former companions notice. This may be because of trauma and/or because he now spends most of his days around his tranquil birth mother and it's rubbing off on him.
No longer considers himself Dalish, he's slowly attempting to scrub/exfoliate out his vallaslin. Raises his daughter to not believe in the elven gods. They don't really believe in anything.
Often receives letters from Sanehn while she travels with Iron Bull and the Chargers.
Been living around Ferelden with his Tranquil birth mother, Celaine, a bit nomadically. They move from small village to village, staying until Bo's recognized or they've overstayed their welcome. Venasal lives primarily with him and Celaine, but Sanehn and Bull have been known to take her for trips to give Bo a break.
Bo tells Varric he can't actively help him find Solas because he is all Ven has and he's committed to not taking risks unless he absolutely has to. Varric understands, he adores Ven like a niece.
He and Dorian have the longest slow burn romance through letters, about seven years of slowly falling in love through mostly ink and paper. They reunite during the events of Veilguard. During the events in Ferelden, Bo arranges for Sanehn and Venasal to stay with Dorian in Minrathous after it's saved from the dragon by Rook. His visits to Minrathous to speak to Rook also coincide with visits to his daughter, mom, and Dorian. After everything is over, Bo surprises Dorian with a kiss and he agrees to stay with him in Tevinter after he helps Ferelden for a while.
Regrets disbanding the Inquisition as events of Veilguard unfold

The way Veilguard approaches the concept of leadership is so interesting, actually. Because in previous installments, leadership is something that just happens to the main character. The Warden is volunteered for a leadership position by Alistair because he doesn't want it and also for the video game mechanic of "you are the main character." Hawke leads presumably out of sheer force of personality--how else could they hold all those disparate personalities together and actually get anything done? The Inquisitor is made leader due to the magical MacGuffin in their hand, but beyond naming what the Inquisition is for, little of their leadership technique is directly interrogated.
Rook essentially receives field command of the team after being Varric's second for half a year. The uncertainty of that is palpable. This is not someone who's meant to be in direct command, but finds themselves in that position anyway and the narrative is interrogating that. Thoroughly, even. Solas asking what their role here is, the way they have to mediate the group, multiple conversations about the actual mechanics of being a leader--it's very interesting, because previous protagonists unequivocally were leaders but this is the first time it really feels like I, as a player, have access to the levers that control what that leadership looks like. How someone tries to keep a crew functional and working together and make hard calls while trying to minimize the pain it will cause the rest of the team (and often failing at even that). It's a fledgling attempt at leadership in the worst possible moment and you can feel that. More than anything, it makes the Veilguard feel like an exploration of the work it actually takes to tie a crew like this together and make it possible for them to face world-ending odds, and I'm really enjoying the experience
