27 Life-Changing Micro Habits That Require Only A Few Minutes
When people strive for self-improvement, a common mistake is to shoot too high. We make promises to be healthier, more mindful, more patient. But such lofty goals often go unmet. They’re just too vague, or too hard to track. (There’s a reason why 80 percent of New Year’s Resolutions are cast aside by February.) Even when a goal is more concrete (“I want to run a half marathon”; “I want to yell less”) it’s difficult to stay the course, especially when you have kids, because time is tight, progress requires consistency, and it feels unnatural to break tasks into very small chunks.
A different approach? Start smaller — much smaller — and instead strive to develop micro habits. Micro habits are simple daily actions that are easy to implement into your established routine and only require a few minutes of your time (if that). Drinking a cup of water in the morning before your coffee so you stay hydrated. Performing a minute of breathing exercises to help manage anger. Reading just one paragraph of a book that seems daunting.
While they sound insignificant, micro habits are much more achievable than traditional goals and resolutions — and often contain aspects of them broken down into smaller chunks. And, because stacking up small victories creates a snowball effect that encourages you to undertake more, and more ambitious, changes, micro habits may be more likely to lead to lasting change.
“When high achieving people set goals, they set big goals,” says Sabina Nawaz, a corporate coach who often advises the power of micro-habits in her practice. “There's a lot of bravado, with people saying they should ‘go big or go home.’ The problem with setting big goals in the near term is that we are less likely to achieve them.”
The best micro habits require no more than two or three minutes and fit easily into your existing schedule. They can also be piggybacked off other tasks you already do — say, performing a wall squat while you brush your teeth, or writing down one thing you’re grateful for while you wait for the coffee to brew. In time, these become part of your routine and can be lengthened out or made more difficult.
Now, thinking small can be a challenge. Nawaz says that her clients often have trouble setting goals that are small enough to become micro-habits. Someone might see a person working out 30 minutes a day and want to jump right into that level of performance.
“What we don't realize is that for them to get to 30 minutes a day, they had to start somewhere,” she says. “And it wasn't 30 minutes a day for most people.”
Micro habits are much more manageable. Who doesn’t have time to do just one pushup a day? Or two minutes of jumping jacks?
Below, according to a variety of wellness experts, life coaches, and medical professionals are 27 suggestions of small but significant life changes you can put in motion today.

'I Read 300 Self-Help Books, These Are The Top 3 Life Lessons I Learned'
I've always loved reading. Whilst growing up in Siberia, my mom used to work as a bookstore manager, and in my younger years, she would always bring books home for me to read, but they were mostly fiction.
When I was 13, my desire to read self-help and psychology books formed. At the time, I became really curious about personality tests and learning more about myself, discovering who I was and why I was wired a certain way. So, I spent my time in the self-help section of bookstores, seeking out books that included personality tests and astrology.
My mom's friend, who was a therapist, had a big influence on me in my childhood. She gave me my first psychology book called "Games People Play" by Eric Berne. It fascinated me. Because of this, I would read one book after another on the topic of human relationships—I was averaging one book per week.
When I got my hands on Carl Jung's "Personality Types", I realized that I could study the theory of psychology, but also do the personality tests that were included in the book. My family, on the other hand, didn't quite share the same enthusiasm that I had for psychology and self-help books back in the '90s. They thought it was a waste of time because in Siberia, where I grew up, psychology wasn't a well-paid profession. So my family helped me to see that a psychology degree may not get me as far as I wanted to go.

After my sophomore year, I moved to the U.S. at the age of 18 and transferred to the University Of California in Santa Cruz to study molecular biology. The move prompted a series of panic attacks while I was in college because it was such a big transition. I remember the first attack occurred shortly after I moved to Santa Cruz. I was studying for my finals when suddenly my heartbeat sped up and the whole world started to seem unreal. It was very scary, so I went to the medical center, where the doctor confirmed that it was, indeed, an anxiety-induced panic attack. Following this, I learned all I could about anxiety and panic attacks. Books like "Anxiety & Panic Attacks" by Robert Handly helped me learn to cope with them.

How Korean Fashion and Culture Took over the World
In Seoul with the Victoria & Albert Museum in June, I found my daily uniform shifted gradually as the days went by; by the week’s end, I had assumed a new final form. Walking around the city, in neighbourhoods like hyperactive Hongdae and the long-immortalised Gangnam, I swiftly fell under the influence of the young Korean population, who wore, almost exclusively, school-uniform style shirts and polo shirts, with slacks or pale blue jeans in a baggy 90s cut. The colour scheme was always white, or beige, or somewhere in between; loved-up couples coordinated carefully. On the feet: bulbous white trainers, or kitten-heeled sandals for girls. And while in London trends may percolate through the city in the span of a summer (crochet bucket hats have a lot to answer for this year), the impact is rarely so total. Drinking an iced coffee on the corner of a busy junction in Seongsu-dong, an on-the-rise area formerly known for its shoe factories, I noted four instances of short-sleeved, white, button-up shirts on girls of different ages in a record time of 60 seconds.
My adoption of a new look was a more localised iteration of the Korean Wave – or hallyu – that, in its global scale, is the subject of a new exhibition at London’s V&A Museum this September. But as the curatorial team behind Hallyu! The Korean Wave (Rosalie Kim and Yoojin Choi) explain, they do plan to tell the story of the major worldwide phenomenon of K-dramas, K-pop and K-beauty and fashion through specific objects big and small: displays as historic as 13th-century cosmetics packaging, and as immersive and recent as a recreated bathroom set from the apartment in Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite (2019). Among all this, and providing a connecting thread between all the genres and modes in which the impact of hallyu has been felt, are the show’s fashion designs, costume designs for film and television, and various clothing and beauty items belonging to Korean citizens through the decades.
Back in June, in a humid taxi inching along one of Seoul’s infamous traffic-jammed highways, I asked project curator Yoojin about the trend saturation I had noticed in the city’s fashion-conscious crowds. She described it as one symptom of ppalli-ppalli culture that often sweeps through areas of fashion, beauty and technology in the country: literally, ‘quick-quick’ culture. In South Korea, citizens have enjoyed Deliveroo-style food delivery services for some decades, internet that is among the world’s speediest, and, in restaurants, meals that usually arrive in minutes flat. By taking as its subject a country where culture is locked into hyperdrive, it feels like part of the challenge of putting together a show like Hallyu! must be to figure out how to package and present this constantly-moving present.

Love Bombing Can Feel A Lot Like Romance — Here’s How To Tell Them Apart
Original Article Link to read more In the beginning, everything seems perfect. They text you all the time, shower you with gifts and compliments, and dote on you in a way no one has before. But everything progresses quickly. Their affection feels persistent and overwhelming. They keep tabs on everything you do and insist on spending every free moment together. Two weeks into the relationship, they tell you they love you and when you’re apart they say they miss you. Is it a genuine display of emotion — or are you experiencing love bombing? In any kind of relationship, displays of love help you feel safe and secure. This is why love bombing is the perfect manipulation tactic used by narcissists, abusers and con artists. They attack you with praise and intense connection, until you let your guard down. And once you're in a vulnerable position, the bad behaviour begins.
Over the last few years, the phrase “love bomber” has gained popularity in media and pop culture, from
TikTokers
sharing signs to look out for, to series like
The Tindler Swindler
catching our attention. Even celebrities like
FKA Twigs
have used the term to describe former abusive relationships. As “love bombing” continues to gain traction in the modern dating world, the line between love bombing and a genuine display of affection becomes blurred. After all, the concept of
love at first sight
is still a very real thing. So how can you tell the difference between love bombing and true love? Let’s investigate.
What is love bombing?
“Love bombing relates to a person providing excessive love and attention towards another person as a way of manipulating their emotions or feelings towards them,” says clinical psychologist and
Headspace App’s
mental health expert Mary Spillane. Underneath the grand gestures and declarations of love, love bombers attempt to undermine victims' confidence. They’ll buy you nice things and say all the right words, and then use that against you later on in the relationship. “A person who love bombs often does not consider how it is making the other person feel,” says Spillane. “It is often associated with manipulation of another’s feelings, rather than an authentic experience of falling in love.” Where does the term 'love bombing' come from? The term “love bombing” was first coined by the Unification Church of United States (aka the Moonies ) during the 1970s. Psychology professor Margaret Singer reported on the concept in her 1996 book,
Cults in Our Midst
.

Top Benefits of Angular
About Angular framework
The popularity of the open-source framework began as soon as the news spread that it has been maintained by a reputable tech giant named Google. The framework features a wide range of elements and functionalities such as angular material, dependency injection, document object model, angular CLI, two-way data binding, server-side rendering, less angular code which ultimately assists angular developers across the globe to create dynamic angular applications, single-page web applications, enterprise-scale applications and what not! Here developers have no pressure of writing javascript code, having adequate knowledge of HTML and Typescript is more than enough to make things work especially in the angular web development realm.
Apart from all these, we have a strong angular community that features a wide range of active and experienced developers who don’t just know web frameworks but exactly know what best development practices of angular needs to be implemented and how to come up with the best possible solutions. It may quite interest you to know that angular framework is one such name that has gained an immense amount of popularity.
Types of Angular Framework
As mentioned earlier, the Angular framework is used to develop a wide range of single-page web applications, web and mobile applications, dynamic applications for all small, medium and large scale projects. Further, I would like to mention certain types of Angular frameworks found across the globe.
Large enterprise-scale projects – Angular is one such framework that is used to create systems and apps featuring user interfaces that are bound to meet the needs and demands of enterprises. Here it’s not much about the end-user but the organization. These large scale enterprise applications are developed with an objective to streamline the procedures and ease work for the employees. Some of the best examples of such systems include ERP, CRMs, platforms for payment processing, email marketing, content management, etc.
Single-page applications – The next type of Angular framework is single-page applications. Developed thoroughly based on the Angular technology, these are dynamic applications developed by optimizing angular CLI and model view controllers that results in the development of intimidating user interfaces and what not! Now how are single-page applications a cut above? Well, when an end user navigates the app, he or she won’t be facing any such reloading issues.
