“Good.” He said, leaning to kiss her more fully. “Hey!” He protested, jumping back and hitting the sink as he tried to escape the cold water. “That was just mean, and we all know that it was on purpose.” He pouted, not appreciating the droplets that had hit his face.
Charley finished off whilst he had a shave and was just wrapping a towel around her body, before stepping out of the shower. Casting a look at his face, she smiled. “Definitely….” Her hand came up and stroked his jawline. “Smoooth…” She leaned up and kissed him on the lips, then shook her head and let drops of water fly everywhere. “Oops?” Shooting him a smirk, the brunette got another towel and gave her hair a rub.

“Yes…it’s looking that way isn’t it..” She smirked and kissed him back, an amused look on her face, before continuing to wash and shampoo her hair. “Have a look in that cabinet over there then. There should be some deposable razors.” Packets of razors were definitely one of the things she smuggled in if she found any outside the base. She stayed under the shower a little longer until she was done and then turned off the switch.
He found the razors after he dressed, and finally began shaving away the whiskers that had grown far longer than he usually kept them. He finished about the same time she stepped out of the shower, and wiped his face clean before he turned to face her, smile in place. “Better?”

Charley grinned against his lips before pulling back just enough so she could look up at him. “Well..going from my logic..then no..it doesn’t count so you will still owe me when you are shaved too.” Her brow wiggled and she nodded, before grabbing the soap and starting to wash. “There will be a razor in the bathroom cabinet if you do wanna shave.”
“Seems like I’m going to owe you a lot.” He mused, leaning to kiss her one more time before he moved to get out. “I think shaving would probably be a good idea. I feel too scruff.” He admitted, rubbing a hand along his jawline before he reached for a towel to dry off.

“Hmm…” She gave a look at him as if to say ‘I’m not sure about that’ but she wasn’t about to disagree with him–instead Charley wore the most engaging grin possible as he pulled her close. “Because…” She held off on saying anything, instead she kissed him back, her lips pressing to his as her arms went around him, so her hands rested on his back. When she’d kissed him, Charley let her dark hues look up at him. “….well scruffy kisses are cool…but they can’t count towards a proper one.” It was absolute bullshit, but she was willing to go with it.
“I’m still scruffy.” He pointed out with a chuckle before leaning in to kiss her again. “So does this not count until I shave?” Using her logic that would make sense, but he didn’t think it would anywhere else. Plus he had no idea when he was going to be able to shave anyways.

“And why’s that?…would you stop me if I wasn’t?” Her brow rose playfully as she stepped into the shower, pulling the screen door closed. “ The food is in the oven keeping warm.” She moved closer so the water cascaded down over the both of them. “I am all eco-friendly–conserving water by showering together.” Charley grinned and pushed her body up against his. “Plus…I deserve a fuckin’ kiss now you are all clean again…the last one in the alley didn’t count”
“It’s possible, but you’re adorable, so I guess it doesn’t matter, does it?” He pointed out, lips pulling into a grin as he looked down at her, arms going around her waist to pull her closer. “How did that one not count?” He asked, but obliged her, leaning down to kiss her.

“It’s a good thing you’re not…and hell of a good thing you are easy on the eye.” Charley tilted her head and stepped closer. “Come on then..room for two in there..hm?” She cocked her brow and took her top off, along with her jeans. “Gonna invite a gal in to join you or not?” Even if he said no, she was still removing the remainder of her clothes anyway.
“You are incorrigible, and it’s a good thing you’re adorable.” He laughed, moving aside to give her room in the shower. “I do fed after this though, right?” He teased. “Because I’m gonna need sustenance.”

Her eyes playfully slid to him and she smirked. “Oh…I will see what my needs feel like…and then you can tend to them if so….” She winked and turned around to the water that was getting hot, a smirk still playing on her lips. It didn’t take long for the water to boil and the pasta to be added. The milk was bubbling not long afterwards and Charley added the packet of powder and gave it a stir before putting the content of both pans into an ovenproof dish and shoving it in the oven on a low light to keep it warm.
Heading upstairs, the brunette reached the bathroom door and slowly opened it. “Yup…it’s me….” She opened the steamed up shower door and smirked, purposely eyeing him up from head to toe.”I like the view….”
Luke rolled his eyes at her look. “It’s a good thing I’m not shy then.” He pointed out, shaking his head at her before he finished rinsing out his hair, doing his best to mostly ignore her eyes on him. It was proving difficult though, especially as he was going to have to get out soon.

She nodded adamantly at him. “It was that…bad.” Giving a chuckle she filled up a pan of water. “knock yourself out…it’s at the top of the stairs, first door on the right. There’s a clean towel in the cupboard what’s in there.I will just cook some pasta and then I’ll get you some clothes okay?” Charley shot him a smile. “Take your time up there…I will get them in a few minutes.”
The brunette looked in the cupboards and saw a couple of packets of dried pasta sauce that just needed milk adding to it. Checking the small fridge they had, she took out the milk and poured it into another pan to boil.
“Sounds like a plan.” He agreed, already heading for the door. He paused in the doorway though, sending a grin back at her. “Feel free to join me if you feel the need.” He teased, waggling his eyebrows before he headed towards the shower.
It was only a few minutes after that he was under the hot water, eyes closed as he enjoyed it before starting to scrub the dirt and grunge off. He paused when he heard someone enter though, tilting his head. “That you?”

Charley shot him a look and shrugged. “It aint bad…it serves its purpose and feels like home so that’s the main thing.” She slipped off her jacket and dropped it onto the couch arm. “Make yourself at home..treat it like you would your own place.” She stopped what she was doing and cocked a brow, a small smirk playing on her lips. “…Apart from leaving the bathroom like the mess yours was.”
She wasn’t much of a cook, it was usually Grant that did it all, but she knew how to do the basic stuff, so took out a pan and some pasta. “Go grab a shower if you want and I can get you some clothes out that will fit and bring them in to you.”
“Hey, my bathroom is not that bad! I just haven’t cleaned it in...awhile.” He protested, shrugging off his jacket and folding it onto the floor by the couch. He really didn’t want to sit down or anything, he knew the dirt of the past three days or so had accumulated on his clothes.
“A shower would be wonderful.” He told her, smile growing at the thought. A shower would actually be past wonderful, he thought, it would be heavenly. “Which way is it?”

“Exactly…you took the words right out of my mouth…” She smirked and wiggled her brow. She had no idea whether they would or not, but knew that she had no problem having some fun with him in her own room. Though yeah, thinking about those kind of things right now was perhaps a bit misplaced, but she never claimed to be conventional or politically correct.
“I do know that…” She grumbled. Charley didn’t really like that many government people, including soldiers and guards. Her connection with Luke had surprised her and there was the odd other one too, but usually, she really didn’t get along very well with any of them. Though she was crafty in a way, because at that moment, she knew there wasn’t time to dicsuss it with Luke like they had back when they met, because she knew full well he wouldn’t let her get away with stuff–partly why she was drawn to him though as well.
She kept her fingers linked with his tightly as they made their way back to her house. There were a couple of times when she thought things could get a little dodgy, but eventually they had made it back and Charley quickly pulled her key out and unlocked the door. “Come in..I am not sure if Grants home yet. “
Luke just rolled his eyes, preferring not to get into it yet. Maybe someday he’d convince her that not all government people were douchebags, but he kind of doubted it.
He stayed close as they traveled, eyes never ceasing to attempt to look everywhere at once. He was relieved when they finally reached her house though, and stepped inside just after her. “It’s nice.” He said absently.

Charley let a lopsided mischievous grin form on her lips. She had never been one for cutting out the usual behaviour or talk, even in serious circumstances and always thought that the key to getting through difficult times was indeed to try and behave as you usually would. So when he was doing the same, the brunette couldn’t help but be amused. “I think a repeat would definitely help..you know…let off steam and all that, what with us being so hot together and all.”
Seeing the soldier there, made her breath hitch even if she didn’t let it be seen, she still maintained a calm exterior. So when he left, she let out a heavy sigh and turned around cocking a brow. “Yeah standing there…probably looking for you and the others..” She mumbled, slightly thrown by being called Charlotte, like she always was when he said it to her. “He was an asshole…” She mumbled under her breath, knowing Luke wasn’t one to ever back down to her at all, so she quickly pulled him by the cuff of his jacket. “We’re good to go again.”
“And get our minds off things.” He pointed out logically, a matching grin forming on his lips. He didn’t think it would happen, it sounded like her house was a bit full, but it was fun to tease. And he already felt like he was in a better mood.
“You don’t know that.” He argued half-heartedly. He might not know if he was a soldier anymore, but he was still going to defend them to a certain extent. They weren’t all assholes, he knew that, but it wasn’t worth arguing it right now. “Great.” He muttered, tugging his hood back up before following her, catching her hand in his to lace their fingers together. It calmed a the jittery feeling a bit that seemed to come with being out in the open.

“That’s cause I am awesome…” She grinned at him and tapped his cheek. “You were awesome too….I am a good judge…I knew sex between us would be fuckin’ hot as hell.” Charley gave a shrug, knowing at that moment in time earlier, when she threw a punch at him, she meant it but probably would have regretted it afterwards.
Once she knew the coast was clear, the brunette signalled for him to step out into the open. The only relatively safe way back to her home was to take the backways and alleys. There would be guards and soldiers with their eyes and ears open looking for those on the list. “Woah hang on…” Charley was already seen and couldn’t step back into the alley so she stood there and shot some soldier a real indigant look. She didn’t want to come across as too cocky, probably how she would usually, because she didn’t want him to walk over. It seemed to work and he was soon heading away again. “Asshole..” She mumbled.
“Oh, is that what it’s called.” He rolled his eyes in response, then chuckled. “Well, you’re not wrong. We were pretty hot. Maybe hot enough for a repeat.” He pointed out, even though he knew that was the last thing he should be thinking about right now.
He hung back from her as she walked out into the street, waiting for the all clear. He was about to step out when she warned him back, and he stepped back again, doing his best to melt into the shadows. “He was just standing there, Charlotte.” He told her with a half smile. “Not really being an asshole.”

Charley definitely didn’t feel one hundred percent but she was better than she was a few days ago. She was lucky Tommy had passed by when she collapsed or hell knows what the situation would be now–she didn’t even want to think about it. Right now all that was at the forefront of her mind was getting home and making sure nobody saw Luke. Though his words spoken back at her, did make the brunette smirk. “Yeah…it was awesome wasn’t it…” She pretended to pause for a moment whilst she recalled it. “You weren’t so bad either…” Her smirk turned into a grin, knowing she felt the same as him, but didn’t admit it. “I did nearly hurt you though just now…if you would’ve let me get one of those punches in that is..” She moved closer, not caring if he was mucky or in need of a shower and kissed him on the lips. “We should go…” Charley murmured in a soft tone and still kept hold of his hand, making her way to the end of the alley where she stuck her head out to check the coast was clear.
“Well thanks a lot. You get awesome, I get not so bad.” He teased, the weight on his shoulders lifting a bit with the humor. At least something was still normal, even if it was as small as trading snarky comments with her. “Yeah, I would’ve let you, but I really don’t feel like getting punched.” He told her dryly. He kissed her back, eyes sliding closed for a moment before he followed her. He just really hoped he wasn’t going to get her in trouble with this. But he didn’t have many options.

stubbornxenigma:
Charley didn’t want to feel this way and part of her knew this was why she very rarely cared for people. Yet lately it was proving harder and more difficult with the odd one or two. She knew not all of the sirens were bad and their ethics and ideas were actually far more moral than the ones who chose to blow up the building. “You don’t know where I live?” Her brow rose and she smirked a little bit. “Damn..so you didn’t check me out and I don’t have a stalker after all.” She was teasing him of course–misplaced humour maybe, but she would never change, even though they hadn’t really known one another long. Although funnily enough it felt like they had. She welcomed his arms around her far more than she would care to admit, so stifled a sigh of relief from leaving her lips. “I want you to….” Her eyes met his again and her hand reached down to take hold of his. “What’s gonna happen?…do you have any plan?…because I assume they aren’t going to let things rest until they have found you all.”
Luke didn’t know why he was still so relieved to see her, safe and mostly whole. Although he was still worried about how she’d been injured, there was a nagging in his head that said it had to have been his fault, even though he knew it wasn’t. But it seemed like he was starting to care about her, which he knew wasn’t going to end well. Not considering that he was probably going to have to be on the run for awhile. “Nah, I save my stalking for the women who hurt me. You just provided me with awesome sex.” He teased in return, grateful that things seemed to be going back to a bit of normal. “Okay, that sounds nice.” He said thankfully. Sleeping inside actually sounded really nice. Maybe even a shower. His hand gripped hers lightly as he shook his head. “I don’t know. Lay low until I figure out what to do, basically.”

stubbornxenigma:
Charley was one who really wouldn’t give a damn about lashing out when she was angry and if it would’ve been a stranger then things could’ve been so much worse. So when he caught hold of her other wrist too, all she could do was glare and speak through gritted teeth, her whole body tense. “I nearly died…” Her face was only a few inches from his, her eyes the only giveaway of what she felt inside–what she hid. It had scared her, but she would never admit it. Charley didn’t explain the full extent of the injuries she’d had, she thought there would be plenty of time later for that. Instead she remained quiet and listened while he spoke about the sirens. She couldn’t help but be relieved that he didn’t support the actions of those involved and responsible for the explosion. Charley inhaled deeply and finally let her arms relax as he placed his hands on her shoulders. “You should’ve come to me…to my house…people don’t know about us sleeping together…only Grant who I live with” She looked to the floor and slowly raised her eyes to him. It was then she slid her arms around his body and hugged him. “You gonna come with me?”
He didn’t want to think about the way those three words tore him apart inside. That someone, that she had almost died because of something he’d been involved in. Whether he’d directly helped it or not, he had been involved in it, and he couldn’t even apologize. How could that be enough? It wasn’t, and he knew his misery over that showed over his face. He relaxed a bit when she seemed to accept his apology and explanation though, not sure why that filled him with such a sense of relief. Maybe because if she could forgive him, maybe everyone else could. “I don’t even know where you live.” He pointed out, small smile in place. After all, it wasn’t like they’d had an extended relationship. His arms went around her in return, careful not to squeeze too tightly. “If you want me to.”

“Don’t ‘what the hell’, me!” She yanked at her wrist and used her other hand instead to swing a punch. She wasn’t angry because he hadn’t visited–she more or less knew he wouldn’t due to the circumstances. Charley was angry because she wasn’t entirely sure how heavily involved he was in the sirens actions and she had been hurt. She was also angry because she didn’t know until now that he was alive and okay and those feelings she’d encountered were ones that she wasn’t used to all that often. “Fuccccck!” Her hand held her side, she was sure a stitch had bust now and it was her own fault for getting wound up. “Did you know the sirens were going to blow up that building?…because if you did..I was in there..I saw that flyer and I fuckin’ searched for you, Luke!–because I am a complete idiot and I don’t like feeling that way, I really fuckin’ don’t.” It was now she let her eyes wander over him to check he was okay, her own head and arms covered in bruises from the fallen debris. “Where have you been hiding?” The tone of her voice had dulled and she swallowed thickly–not being able to hide the concern for him.
“Would you stop that?” He demanded, catching her other wrist. He had no idea why she was so angry, just that she was, and obviously hurt as well, which was not good. “You were in there? Fuck, are you okay?” He asked, instantly more concerned as he looked her over again. Bruises, but she was standing, even if she was still not doing well. “I swear, I had no idea they were going to do that, and I wouldn’t have supported it. I don’t want anyone to get hurt, okay? I just...I wanted to help people.” That was the entire reason he’d joined the Sirens, why he’d chosen to go undercover as a soldier. He never would have helped to blow up a building with innocent people inside, that was wrong. “Um, everywhere. Just kept moving.” He said, hands going to rest on her shoulders as he wondered if he could hug her without getting punched.

stubbornxenigma:
It had been a few days now since Charley had discharged herself from hospital. She wasn’t one hundred percent and back to her full strength, but at least she was far better than what she had been. Her collapsed lung fixed, and the wound near her rib still stitched up and healing well, she finally left the house to search for Luke. Ironic really when the reason she had ended up in the middle of the explosion was because she was looking for him in the first place. She wasn’t even sure if he was alive or dead, Charley hadn’t heard anything from him and the more she searched and thought about it, the more agitated she got. She didn’t want to care–she wanted to walk away and forget the whole thing, but she couldn’t.
Just when the brunette thought there was nowhere left to look, her brow furrowed as she saw a figure propped up against the wall down the alleyway. Moving closer with wary steps, she proceeded with caution until she could see who it was. “Luke?” A big wave of relief washed over her and she wanted to grab hold of him and hug him. Then the anger came–angry she cared so much–angry he was a siren and it was sirens who were thought to be behind the explosion–angry for almost everything. “You bastard..I was nearly killed!” She bent down and gripped hold of his jacket and tried to drag him to his feet, but the pain of her stitches pulling made her let go and she went to swing a punch at him instead.
Luke honestly hadn’t thought about Charley that much. It might have been cold, but he didn’t have time to think about any sort of feelings he might have for the caustic woman, and he’d had a few more things to think about. Like hiding, mostly. Of course, he hadn’t heard about the fact she’d been caught in the explosion, or he would have gone to find her.
It was a surprise when he heard her voice though, and he just stared for a moment. Until she was going to punch him, yelling at him all the while, and he lurched to his feet, grabbing her wrist. “What the hell?” He said, confused as to why she was angry. Sure, he’d disappeared, but it wasn’t like it wasn’t for a good reason. Then he looked her over with a frown. “Are you okay?”
