a/n i just had been really down lately and had a relapse🚶‍♀️so self-indulgent time

The rain patters lightly, tapping the wooden surface of the Thousand Sunny. You were standing in the middle of the ship, wondering why you were there. Right, the gloomy weather were like your sadness. Except that you couldn't bring yourself to cry but the rain does it for you.

The crews whereabouts were elsewhere. You didn't care at the moment. At least, they were safe somewhere on the ship. Your thoughts from earlier still swirling inside your head. "Y/n?" Nami called out. Your ears perked at the voice, quickly wiping away the tears that had been rolling down your cheeks without you noticing.

"Yeah? What's up?" You asked, ignoring the questionable look that she gave you. Sanji's head peek out of the kitchen, following by Luffy's and Usopp's. "What are you doing out there?" Nami asked. The others started to crowd the kitchen door, making the space cramped.

"It's nothing," You lied. The others of course didn't take your bullshit but they didn't push you for answers. "Then come inside," Sanji said. "You're going to get sick if you stay in the rain any longer," Chopper added. You took on their invitations and went inside the kitchen.

Food was already displayed all over the table. You took your seat and stared at the foods on the table. Do you deserve these? "Come on, Y/n! Don't be shy! Just eat all you want!" Luffy said. Noticing how you were still hesitating to pick out your food, the whole crew did it for you instead, saying what's nice and whatnot.

Franky put a blanket on you, keeping you warm. Sanji prepared a hot coco while Zoro said that alcohol is better at keeping your body warm. Ensue to Sanji and Zoro arguing. You chuckled at the sight. They never failed to keep you warm. To keep you safe.

All of the negative thoughts from earlier disappeared as soon as they come. You felt tears starting to prick your eyes but then you felt a comforting squeeze on the shoulder from Robin.

Family. That's right. They're your family. Something you needed a long time ago. Being there for you. You felt at home with your family.
