yeah and that makes sense. can’t lie, idk what i was thinking when i wrote my first post. taking everything you said into account, i would agree with it i think. i think what stuck with me, and why i felt the way i felt was because of 2023 elias. i feel like the 2023 elias made him the elias he is in all the other timelines. i might be wrong about that, plz correct me if i am. but again, im not justifying ANY of his wrongdoings, im just saying im understanding how he got to the conclusions he did. i don’t think most of what he did was the right way to do it at all, but there’s obviously a root to why he became his adult self, and i believe it all happened because of how he felt and was treated in 2023.
ok, since i can’t freaking shut up or stop thinking about this show, i want everyone’s opinions on elias mannix, taking the entire show and entire character into account, what are your thoughts ?
here’s mine: at first i was VERY skeptical of mannix, as anyone else would be, but after finishing the show, i have come to my conclusion that he is just a lonely guy with a sucky life. i obviously don’t think what he did with the bomb was a good idea at all, but he redeemed himself when he told 2023 elias to not do it. i believe elias just wanted to be loved because he’s never felt that before, and he also wanted everyone else to feel love hence the “know you are loved” line.
at first, i thought this line was very odd and creepy, but after finishing the show, i believe it is a genuine saying. i think the “know you are loved” is honestly a powerful thing. because of elias’ story, that’s all he wanted, was to be loved. and even though the saying has some bad connotations, i personally really like it and i will remember the good parts of the saying and not the bad. good parts being mostly towards the end of the show when things really start to unfold and elias’ story is revealed.
i do feel bad for him. he had a rough childhood, and he wanted to make sure everyone was loved, so that’s why the 2053 timeline was the way it was. yes, he went about it the completely wrong way, but in the end he is a human being who wanted to feel what everyone else felt.
these are just my opinions, but ya
know you are loved ❤️

yes ! love is NOT something that’s just sexual or romantic as well, so yes, he still did love polly and charlotte.

if you’re doomed, i’m doomed as well. this show is deadass, the best show i’ve ever seen. i think people think i’m exaggerating, but i’m literally not. it has really made me think about life and how one little thing can have a huge consequence. yes, ik that time travel isn’t real… or is it 👀 (nah jk), but the morals of the storylines and the true emotions that go through my mind are real. i will forever love this show.
will this stupid show ever leave my brain or am i doomed to brainrot about it forever??? Is this the new good omens obsession? im going to die istg

yes. and i genuinely feel this is the best way he could have said it. i truly think and agree his love for polly and charlotte was real. i’ve seen people (not on here, on tiktok and reddit) shame him for cheating which yes, i agree cheating is wrong, but on the other side of the coin, the embarrassment and guilt he had when he told his family just showed how much he truly loved them, and how he in a way, wish he wasn’t how he is.
i also saw people saying that he never loved his wife and daughter and that made me sick. they obviously didn’t watch the show. he loved them so much, that’s why it was so hard to come out, i believe. (well that and obviously the time period, but yk what im saying… i hope)

literally. esther’s death and whiteman’s reaction is probably in my top 5 saddest moments ! i love the connection they had.
just finished the show “bodies” on netflix and am new to the community. i wanna get to know everyone so i have a question: in your opinion, what was the biggest plot twist/revelation in the show ?
for my answer, there’s so many things that i went “WTF” or “WOW” to ! one being when defoe and the cat lady next door to iris are with chapel perilous and that shahara was also part of it. there’s SO MANY more things that i could talk about so let’s get talking !
