is there like love languages you think vaughn and yulian would have?

okay so i have heard of love languages, but i dont know much about them. i did a bit of research and it seems like your love language is the thing you like (?) out of acts of service, quality time, words of affirmation, recieving gifts and physical touch. and most people seem to say there is a primary and secondary love language.

so for vaughn, i think his primary love language is words of affirmation and this works perfectly between him and yulian as yulian is very open about his feelings and not afraid to announce them loud and proud. he struggles with his emotions and hearing yulians reassurance is great in his eyes. as for his secondary love language, id go with quality time. after eight years of avoiding him and only being angry when in his presence, i think vaughn very much relishes the time he gets to have with yulian now. furthermore, having so much weight on his shoulders and constantly surrounded by so many people expecting so much of him, it is a comfort to spend close time with just yulian, who doesnt expect anything from him.

then with yulian, i think his primary love language is hard to decide between physical touch and words of affirmation, but im going to go with physical touch. yulian is someone who has obviously been abused and so physical touch might not always be easy for him. however, with vaughn, it is. he is so used to feeling physical touches to inflict pain that when he gets with vaughn, he loves the constant gentle and loving touches that are so different to what he grew up with. i also think this is somethiing that vaughn has noted/knows and as such he is very touchy with yulian, though i think this is also him making up for the violence he showed yulian before they got together. as for his secondary language, ill go with words of affirmation. he spent so long only hearing insults from vaughn, that hearing him affirm his feelings is something he cares deeply about.

i hope i was right with the love language being the persons preffered way of recieving love, not giving it. but if im wrong, feel free to let me know. <3

hell yes i did. i actually prefer res over log lol. one of my fav series of all time, even though i actually didnt love a lot of the characters. i wish so bad there was more (or just any, cause i cant ever find some) fanfiction about res. ive considered writing some myself when tbbu is finished bc im honestly obsessed with res.

okay in last place is aiden and elsa. i know theyre og im sorry but i will never like aiden king lmao. and elsa kinda annoyed me the way she would be like 'its over between us. i hate him. ill never forgive him and we are enemies' and then five seconds later she hooks up with him like i needed her to have more of a backbone.

next is kimberly and xander. i love kimmy she is the sweetest. the difference between her and elsa for me is that kims whole character is that she was a sweet, kind and understanding girl. so even though there were times were i thought id like her to have put her foot down more, i understood that it just wasnt who she was and she even acknowledged that herself. elsa, however, i feel like she thought she had a backbone and could put her foot down but she just didnt? and it rlly got on my nerves. as for xander, i dont really understand why people hate him but love aiden. they are as bad as each other and both suck, but xander at least gets brownie points from me for saving himself for kim lmao and being ronans best friend.

next is silver and cole. i think as individual characters id have a few more negative things to say, but as a couple theyre so good together. i actually thought id hate them before reading bc just the idea of step-sibling trope gave me the ick, but then i obvs read kim and xanders story before them and i was like if i can survive and still enjoy them then step-siblings is no problem. my fav thing about silver is her hatred for aiden <3. was so entertianing seeing how much she actually disliked him after claiming him for the past five books or whatever. as for cole i do think some people act like he is better than he was. like the way he treated silver at times was not much better than how xander and aiden treated their girls. but he made up for it in the end and i love him and silver in god of war.

runner up is astrid and levi. the first time i read their book i remember not liking it that much, but they have seriously grown on me. i felt like astrid did have a pretty good backbone, but what i also liked is that she knew when to back down (when levi staged the almost kidnapping and so she kind 'gave up', but it just made him feel bad, i ate that up). they are so cute together and though it took him a while, when he got there, levi knew how to treat astrid right. (also, they created the best kids hands down).

finally, in first place and it not even being close in the slightest, is ronan and teal. truly one of my fav couples of all time. fit each other perfectly. teal knew how to hold her own and ronan didnt treat her like utter shit. their backstories broke my heart but i loved seeing how differently they responded to it (teal becoming so introverted and ronan extroverted etc) and i though it was a cute detail in the end that they do go to therapy together, as opposed to their love just magically fixing them. ronan in general is just one of my fav characters cause of his friendship with the girls and teal is such a badass. she was literally gunna murder the monster that hurt her. plus in the other couples while they all loved each other, there is often a theme where the guy seems like he loves the girl more than the girl loves him in some ways. in the case of ronan and teal, i completely beleived that they feel equally in love and obsessed with one another. plus in the epilogue how teal always defends ronan from the other elites is so amazing. literally one of my fav couples of all time. the only thing i would change is id make their book longer lol so i have more time with them.

again, i wish so bad that there was more fanfics of res. id really love to read it, but i might just write it myself lol when im finshed with tbbu.

I have! and I actually really enjoyed it, I loved the fmc, I felt like she was a little more unique than most other fmcs rina has and she had a backbone which I liked.

as for Preston and Marcus, I’m so excited for them. I feel like their dynamic is/will be very unique/different compared to all the other mm couples rina has, both due to their circumstances and their personalities. I wouldn’t say I’m as excited as I was for ktv and htv, but tbf we were a lot more familiar with Gareth and Vaughn than we are with Preston and Marcus cause obvs we have only had one book with them. I’m sure I’ll get even more hyped when I read the next one with violet, who I also really liked, and we presumably get more hints about Marcus and Preston.

heyyy obvi no pressure, but I was wondering when the next chapter is?

I’ve already started writing it (not much tho) and tbh I don’t think it’ll take me too long bc it’s a chapter I’ve been really excited to write lol, however I’ve had work ask me to come in today and tomorrow (and I need money so I’m not saying no haha) so I no longer have as much time as I thought plus it’s race week so I’ll be pretty busy the next two days. I’ll probably still find time to write a bit in the evenings, but I reckon the next chapter won’t go up until Monday probably Monday night.

Why would it be such a big deal if Vaughn findsnout about Camilla? Like I get he loved her, but he was never obsessed about her so... Would it technically hit deep for him if he never truly loved her?

It would be less about the fact it was Camilla and more about the fact he has lied to Vaughn about it all this time. They lost eight years because Vaughn thought that yulian lied to him and has only now ‘forgiven’ him and allowed them to make it work because those lies have been exposed, he no longer believes there are any secrets between them because he thinks yulian told him everything. they’ve essentially agreed that there will be no more lies between them. but yulian is lying, or at least withholding the truth. Vaughn has lost so much to lies and betrayal etc but now that he knows the truth about the basement, he truly doesn’t think yulian would ever lie to him, and definitely not about something so big. So if that were to be exposed, it would really hurt and anger him.

But also, while he’s obviously he wasn’t obsessed with Camilla, he did love her. And they were happily together for years and were good friends for years more before that. She played a big important role in his life for a very long time and yes of course when he first found out he was simply consumed with anger and the need for revenge, but if I’m honest I don’t think he would have actually killed her in the end as she meant too much to him for so long. He would have absolutely ruined her life etc, but actually kill her? I don’t think he would have wanted her dead once he finally sorted out his emotions.

It will hit him deep because he will realise that yulian, who promised he never lied, actually still has been lying, just not about the basement. And it will hit him deep because whatever she did, Camilla was still a very important person to him and it was for him to decide her fate not yulian, and months later now that he can think more rationally about it and she actually is dead, he recognises that maybe that wasn’t the outcome he wanted for her.

Soo hii, you said vaughnyulian were switches in your fic, but i had a tiny question. I know a lot of switches in books and fics, usually one of the mcs likes to bottom more- even if they top. If that makes sense? I was wondering if that was the case in your fic or if they just switch every other time? IM SORT OF KNEW TO THIS SO SORRY.

first thing I’ll say is that when I was considering what dynamic they’d have, it was always always between switching and strict Vaughn bottom/yulian top. strictly Vaughn top/yulian bottom was never really an option to me just cause I couldn’t really see their dynamic that way in my fic from how I’ve written them, but I definitely could see it the other way or switches.

I think for the most part, it’s because to me at least, I do see yulian as being more of a top and if he were with anyone else he would be strict top, however vaughn is his exception as he will always take him in any way he can get. it’s sort of similar to bran and niko in that niko is more of a top but did offer bran to bottom if he likes, but bran said no. but in vaughj and yulians case, Vaughn is obviously a lot more dominant than bran was and so he said yes if that makes sense. but also niko kinda seemed to phrase it like he would prefer to top but would be willing to bottom for bran, yulian truly doesn’t care either way as long as he is with Vaughn, BUT if it were someone else then he’d only top. I feel like this sounds super confusing but I’m trying to explain my thought process 😭😭. This is just how I think Vaughn and yulian themselves view their dynamic.

In terms of actual writing tho, I’d say maybeee I’ll write more of Vaughn bottom than yulian (if there’s is more of one or the other, then it’ll be this way). but overall (and I’m sorry if your a bit disappointed lol) I don’t think there will be that many sex scenes tbh (at least not as many as there usually would in rinas books). I honestly don’t enjoy writing them that much and I find them much harder to write (the one last chapter took me like 6 hours or smth, whereas usually for that amount of words it would be like 3). I much prefer writing actual plot stuff and characters etc, so the sex scenes are more ‘fan service’ than anything haha.

I’ve just looked at my plan and excluding the one in chap 19 and the one at the start of next chap, there are 7 more planned sex scenes tbh (this does include epilogue chapters tho) and I’m not gunna lie I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them end up being more fade to black, and the ones that aren’t definitely won’t all be as detailed/long as chap 19 (I don’t think even next chap will be that long). Anyway I think I’ve gone off topic a bit but my point with this was that if it was more one way than another, then yes Vaughn would likely bottom more, however I don’t think I’m going to write enough sex scenes in my fic for it to actually make a difference/be noticeable. Obviously it might be implied that in the background they are having frequent sex but I just won’t explicitly write all of it.

I’ve been pretty busy since the last chap (several 9 hour shifts 😭😭, moved accommodation, family visited etc) so I’ve not had time to write much tbh. I have started chap 20 but not much. I only finished moving in yesterday so today I do need to go shopping however it’s absolutely pouring it down (shock) so not too sure if I will. if I don’t end up going out then honestly maybe tonight cause I’ll literally just be inside all day writing but If I do go out then probably tomorrow evening.

yes okay for anyone that doesn’t care about f1 just ignore this post. I’m a massive f1 fan it is like my main hobby/interest over everything else even reading, writing etc I’m obsessed. my dad is also a big fan so we get to bond over it a lot.

so I am a Hamilton fan through and through, so obviously I was a Mercedes fan but now I’m a Ferrari fan lol. I would say that today was a great surprise but it wasn’t bc I never doubted my man for a second he’s the wet weather goat and I knew he’d come thru 😁. also I know it must have been boring for everyone else but the delayed start today meant I got to watch the whole race cause it was supposed to start at 2 my time and I didn’t leave work until 2:40 so I’m very happy it was delayed. plus the brocedes lore we got was top tier they are in fact my Roman Empire.

so other than Hamilton my favs on the grid are leclerc (I actually used to be pretty indifferent toward him for a couple years but when we found out he would be Hamilton teammate I started paying more attention to him and I actually really like him now) and piastri. I suppose you wouldn’t remember since you say you’re a new fan (which is amazing new fans are always welcome and don’t let the people who have been watching for decades tell you differently) but back in 2023 there was a sort of trend in f1 on TikTok and twitter where people were picking ‘their rookie’ to support. the rookies that year were piastri sergeant and de vries and a lot of people picked one that was gunna be their rookie for the year and support and I picked piastri and ig it was the best choice since he’s the only one left lmao. but I also have grown to genuinely like him as a person and driver too.

Those are definitely my top three but otherwise I really like Albon (who doesn’t), tsunoda (who doesn’t), hadjar (I feel like us Hamilton fans have just sorta adopted him) and Antonelli. russel I’m a bit on and off with sometimes I really like him but sometimes he gets on my nerves lmao.

Teams wise obviously I support Ferrari cause of Hamilton, I tend to still cheer on Mercedes on occasion cause of Hamilton, but they did screw him over a lot toward the end so not too much. I like Williams too cause they’re an og.

Now for teams/drivers I don’t really like.

The drivers I really really don’t like (and sorry if you do lol cause I know they’re popular) are verstappen and Norris. verstappen is just not a very good person imo, he’s defended racism against Hamilton, was literally asked by an entire country to apologise for offending them with slurs and he stil refused, his driving (while absolutely brilliant, I will never deny that), is a bit too aggressive sometimes, not to mention the times he has deliberately caused crashes cause he’s angry which is so dangerous. plus obviously I’m a Hamilton fan and not liking verstappen kinda comes with that. I’m sure it’s pretty clear what my stance is on Abu Dhabi 2021, but if anyone tries to say that if the situation was reversed and it was verstappen that lost the championship that way, he wouldn’t have absolutely lost it 100x worse than Hamilton and definitely have called it unfair and cheating then ur an idiot. in Norris’ case i actually used to like him but he has made so many unnecessary rude comments about/toward Hamilton so i just can’t like him anymore (him downplaying Hamilton achievements bc ‘he had the fastest car and so he should be winning every race’ rather than just congratulating him will forever haunt him now lmao. because now who has the fastest car and is not in fact winning?). I also think he is a bit overrated. on his good day he is great, but he fumbles and bottles it so easily that’s it honestly gives me second hand embarrassment sometimes. Other than them, I don’t really like Lawson, he’s made some rude comments on occasion and his gf is a trump supporter, sainz gets on my nerves a lot and I also think he is pretty overrated. I am very back and forth with Alonso bc I love the older drivers from 2012 era and i think he’s quite funny but he’s so rude about Hamilton that idk sometimes haha.

as for teams, I don’t like redbull. but that was largely down to verstappen and Horner but obvs Horner is gone lol (woohoo) but I probably still won’t be a fan of them anytime soon. McLaren I appreciate for giving Hamilton his first championship but otherwise I don’t like them idek why probs just cause of Norris lol, even tho I like piastri. Alpine never know how to treat their drivers right (Oscar piastri 2022 tweet you will always be famous).

any drivers or teams I haven’t mentioned I’m probably either indifferent towards or do like/dislike them, but only a bit to the point it’s not worth mentioning. Outside of the current grid I love Sebastian Vettel, I got teary for his last race lmao. All the drivers from the 2012 era (Webber, button, rosberg, raikkonen, plus ones I’ve already mentioned) have a special place in my heart.

so this was asked before i released the most recent chapter, so if youve read it, youll already know that theyre switches.

i did put quite a bit of thought into what dynamic they would be and if you guys remember, in the first chap i explained in the notes my thoughts on what they might actually be in htv and why, and then i also asked people to comment what their thoughts are/what they would prefer, which i took into account.

i remember it was actually pretty split on what people thought they would be, and this did play a big role in my decision to make them switches, as this way everyone should still be happy. but also, from the way ive written them throughout my fic so far, i do think switches makes sense. it could have been top yulian/bottom vaughn (i dont think strictly top vaughn/bottom yulian was ever on the cards for me), but i think vaughn is still too dominant to not enjoy topping and i think yulian would be more than happy to bottom for vaughn lol.

in terms of what i think their dynamic will be in the actual book, im leaning more toward strictly bottom vaughn/top yulian. this is because rina really likes to lean into strict patterns in her books, in terms of always having dominant x submissive. yes, she could be branching out a bit for a change (which would be great) but shes written like 30 books for this univere and has yet to change lol. she also likes a size difference (specifically the bigger one is the dominant/top) and vaughn is obviously described as lean. even when she writes characters that are more 'sassy' or badass or have a backbone like sasha, rai, teal, mia, gareth, they are always still written as being submissive in bed. thats why i wouldnt be surprised if even though vaughns character will be written as violent (with his chains etc) and 'hunting' yulian, rina will still make him be the bottom.

the only thing against this idea is that obviously at the start of ktv, killian says he doesnt know if yulian wants to fuck vaughn or be fucked by vaughn. i dont know why rina would write this if they arent switches lol. but it could have been a way of throwing us off or just a random comment from someone (killian) who doesnt know their dynamic well.

obviously i could be totally wrong lol, but i think rina is an author who really likes to follow what she likes best and follow patterns of what she enjoys writing. there is nothing wrong with this, but i dont see her deviating from it. i do hope she was trying to get a point across with that comment from killian though, because i think it would be fun for her to switch up for a change and have both mcs be truly dominant.

hi ! I was interested to know whether there’s some canon couples u don’t really like and if they’re are any non-cannon couples that u ship? I know Jeremyxlandon are pretty popular and some people wanted mayaxvaughn instead. I personally really like vaughnxyulian and I can see why people would ship Jeremyxlandon but I wanted to know ur thoughts :)

also idk if I’ve already mentioned but i accidentally clicked the wrong option on the poll—i was meant to choose ‘serpent/snake’ not ‘little snake’ but i don’t really think that matters but just in case ig 😅

really enjoyed the previous chapter and I completely agree with ur viewpoint, it doesn’t make much sense for yulian to turn his back on Vaughn especially when Vaughn had many reasons to believe he was betrayed. If I found out that someone believed I betrayed them and there was a lot of supposed evidence stacked up against me I wouldn’t be mad at them for it, and I would do my best to make them believe me. if that makes sense 🫩

when you say canon couples im not sure if you just mean log or the whole rinaverse but ill just stick with log and feel free to ask again if you meant the whole rinaverse.

for log, i wouldnt say there were any that i didnt like. there were obviously some individual characters i liked less or books which i didnt love the plot for, but in terms of actual couples, i think all of them had good chemistry and their personalities matched. for example ive said i didnt like god of pain that much as i didnt like creighton that much, but in terms of him and annika, i actually really like them together and think they go well. in terms of non-canon couples, i do think some couple ideas are fun, landon and jeremy especially. i wouldnt say i ship them with each other more than with mia and cecily nor do i ship them seriously at all, i just think the idea is entertaining and it would be a fun dynamic. ive read god of deceit on ao3 and i really enjoyed it. by extension, people often put cecily and mia together if theyve done landon and jeremy, and i quite like that too. killian and eli are quite popular too i think and again i think that would be an entertaining dynamic, being childhood friends but ending up enemies/rivals cause of heathens/elites, not to mention psychoxpsycho. i dont ship maya and vaughn at all, i see the appeal before we found out about yulian and vaughn, but not anymore. ive also written them as besties so i just cant see them together.

but in the sense of truly 'shipping' any noncanon couple, such as in the way i do yulian and vaughn then no i dont think there are any noncanon couples i ship. if i ship a noncanon couple (in general) then i deadass just ignore canon and refuse to accept they arent in love (cough, wolfstar, cough). in log, though, i do actually think all the canon couples are fun.

also dont worry i did remember that you dmed me <3. with that though the vote is tied lmao so i guess it was kinda pointless cause ill just have to choose myself in the end anyway haha.

I think the way it ended was perfect. It had so much emotion and wrapped everything around nicely.

While I understand the people who want vaughn to chase, we don't really know their real personality, but we do know their persona in tbbu. So just agree with you that it would've been completely out of character for Yulian to let vaughn chase him without caring.

the end note wasn’t completely random, I had a couple of asks kinda saying that they wanted me to write it a certain way and specially ask again and again that I switch it back and now write Vaughn chasing yulian (but sort of phrased like ‘this is what needs to happen’ or ‘this is what should happen’. it just seemed like they were trying to say they would be disappointed if I didn’t write that and while obviously you can have your preferences and opinions, I already knew that that wouldn’t happen and so I didn’t know what to say, so I chose to just delete the asks and hope they got the idea.

I don’t think they were trying to be rude or anything, but in future you are totally welcome to theorise and say what you think might happen, but please do not tell me what to write or say you’d be upset if I don’t. Like I’ve said, the story is already planned out and major plot points won’t change. I hate the idea of anyone being disappointed by what they read and I love love love how enthusiastic everyone is about my story, it means the world, just mind that I’d prefer if you don’t suggest that you’d be disappointed by my writing as it does upset me. I know I didn’t have to explain myself now or even in that end note, but I did want to try and ensure that sort of thing didn’t happen again.
