FINALLY got around to dumping Spotify after their CEO continued to prove he's a fresh turd. (As if being a billionaire, not paying musicians, shoving AI garbage at us, and having an atrocious carbon footprint wasn't bad enough, he's now the chair of a AI-based weapons manufacturing company.)

I used TuneMyMusic ($24 annual fee you can cancel immediately, effectively paying only once) to transfer almost every single song from our Spotify account to Tidal. Tidal already has much better sound quality and they pay their artists much better. It migrated over 99% of our music, too, so there wasn't a huge loss.

i think a lot of white queer/trans people need to hear that "breaking gender norms" isnt just wearing a dress while masc or dying your hair. its also unlearning the beauty standards that impose ideals of white beauty and attractiveness on non-white folks. yes you have a nose ring but i just heard you tell your black friend with meticulously cared for natural hair "you'd just look so nice with straight hair is all im saying..." why does your blog fetishizing i mean uh. appreciating trans women only feature skinny white women who pass. when societal gender norms are so inextricably tied to whiteness and emulating whiteness it is not enough to simply change your aesthetic. you need to defy the gender norms in your own head too.

It's very clear that Andrew Tate and other "redpill" influencers of his ilk didn't understand The Matrix (or maybe didn't even watch it) it they think that escaping the Matrix means living a life of luxury and fame. They got it exactly backwards.

Escaping the Matrix in the movie means living a life of hardship and discomfort. But it's a life that is full of genuine experiences and connections that aren't designed to exploit you.

To hammer the point even more, the motivation of the traitor character is to live a life of luxury and fame inside the Matrix, not caring that it's fake.

there's a jewish story about a rich man who goes to his rabbi to ask him about building an orphanage, and the rabbi is like "yeah duh go for it!!" and then later the rich guy comes back and is like "actually I've decided not to... I love Steddie fics where Steve is being like... generally nice or at least moderately neutral to Eddie while Eddie is perceiving everything Steve does as an act of war or passive aggression. It's always so funny to me. Steve brings Eddie a drink from a cafe and Eddie's brain warps this until he's SURE Steve is somehow insulting him via this act. It gets even better when it becomes overtly clear that Steve is into Eddie but Eddie is just like "this fucking straight guy who's a jock asshole" while Steve is like a stray puppy staring at Eddie with his gigantic brown eyes with hearts in them.
