The sun was setting over the Summer Court, casting a warm golden hue across the lush gardens. The soft murmur of a nearby fountain filled the air as Elain and Lucien strolled together, their steps slow and unhurried. The day had been long, filled with endless meetings and discussions about court alliances, and both were eager for a bit of playful escape.
Elain twirled her delicate lace fan in one hand, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she glanced at Lucien. He caught her look and raised an eyebrow, the corners of his lips twitching upward in a smirk.
“What’s that look for?” Lucien asked, his tone teasing.
Elain’s smile widened. “Just thinking about how much I loathe you,” she said dramatically, her voice dripping with mock disdain.
Lucien placed a hand over his heart, feigning hurt. “You loathe me? That’s funny, because I was just about to say the same thing to you.” He leaned in closer, his grin widening. “I loathe you too, Elain.”
She let out a gasp, raising her fan to swat him on the arm. “How dare you! You infuriate me more than anyone I’ve ever met.”
Lucien chuckled, catching her wrist gently before she could swat him again. “Likewise. You’re impossible, Elain.”
Their eyes met, the playful banter crackling like electricity between them. There was something intoxicating in the way they sparred with words, both knowing full well that there was no real malice behind their teasing. It was a game they both enjoyed far too much.
“Oh, really?” Elain challenged, her voice dropping to a sultry whisper. “You loathe me that much?”
Lucien’s gaze darkened, his grip on her wrist tightening slightly as he pulled her closer. “More than you can imagine.”
Without warning, Lucien’s gaze dropped to her lips, and in that instant, Elain’s breath hitched. The tension between them snapped, and in the next breath, Lucien’s lips crashed against hers.
Their lips met in a heated, desperate kiss, the kind that spoke of months of unspoken feelings, of a bond neither of them fully understood but could no longer deny. It was wild, fierce, and utterly consuming. Elain’s fan slipped from her hand, forgotten as she tangled her fingers in Lucien’s hair, pulling him closer.
They stumbled backward, neither paying attention to their surroundings until they collided with the edge of the fountain. With a surprised yelp, they both toppled over, falling into the cool water with a splash.
For a moment, they were both stunned, sitting in the shallow fountain, drenched from head to toe. Then, as the shock wore off, Elain burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the garden. Lucien joined in, the rich sound of his laughter blending with hers, their earlier playful tension dissolving into pure joy.
“You… you really are impossible,” Lucien managed between laughs, his hands still holding onto her waist as they sat in the water.
Elain leaned her forehead against his, her laughter softening into a warm smile. “And you’re infuriating,” she murmured, her eyes shining with affection.
He brushed a wet strand of hair from her face, his thumb gently caressing her cheek. “Maybe, but I think you might just like that about me.”
Elain pretended to think about it, then nodded with a grin. “Maybe I do.”
Lucien smiled, leaning in to kiss her again, this time softer, more tender. The water rippled around them, but neither cared. The world outside their little fountain seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them, tangled together in a perfect moment of playful romance.
Eventually, they pulled apart, breathless and still smiling. Lucien helped Elain to her feet, both of them dripping wet and looking thoroughly disheveled. But neither minded. If anything, the unexpected dip had only added to the delight of the evening.
“Shall we call a truce?” Lucien asked, offering his arm.
Elain looped her arm through his, her smile still wide. “For now. But don’t think this means I’ve forgiven you for all your infuriating ways.”
Lucien chuckled, pressing a kiss to her temple as they began walking back to the manor. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
As they walked away from the fountain, their laughter still lingering in the air, Elain couldn’t help but think that perhaps there was nothing quite as wonderful as loving—and loathing—Lucien Vanserra.

This is how all of the comic pages typically start out—once I decide on the background! I usually thumbnail on paper, then switch to digital to draw whichever backgrounds I’ll need for the chapter, add characters, shade, and then finally add dialogue.

a/n a fluffy one shot that I started a while back and then cleaned up for @lucienweekofficial! inspired by some tik toks I saw lol
Elain decides to have a little fun and pull a prank on Lucien just to see what he does (spoiler he panics)
wc: 1200+
warning: none!
Tumblr media
The chatter from the living room echoed all the way down the hallway, to the kitchen where Elain was happily finishing up her last dish of the night.
Once a month, she and Lucien try to host a little dinner party to keep up with friends and family. Last month Feyre, Rhysand, and Nyx came over, with a surprise visit from Mor who happened to be in the area. Prior to that Nesta and Cassian, were able to find some spare time to enjoy some of the sea food which had been supplied from Tarquin, a gift for Elain after she had found a way to grow a new species of seaweed which was perfect for weaving nets.
Tonight, Jurian and Vassa were the guests, and the newly crowned Queen of the Human Lands along with her official general, were more than happy to take a break from their newfound duties and enjoy a meal with old friends.
However, the night was about to get a lot more interesting as Elain quietly giggled to herself, already imagining how this would play out.
You see, a month back when she had visited, Feyre had told Elain of a fun little prank she had played on her mate.
“Oh you should have seen his face,” Feyre chuckled, “he looked like he might have passed away right then and there.”
“All because you said his name?” Elain questioned, not sure why this would invoke such a reaction.
Her sister shook her head, “Not just his name, his full name. I drew it out super slowly too, almost in the same tone I scold Nyx in. Rhys practically misted into the living room.”
Feyre turned to her, blue eyes wide with an idea, “You should do it to Lucien!”
Elain opened her mouth to reject the notion but then paused, fawn brows eyes avoiding eye contact with her sister’s.
“You’re not saying no.”
“But I’m not saying yes either.”
“But you’re thinking about it!”
“Okay,” Elain relented, a playful grin tugging at her lips, “maybe I’ll try it.”
Feyre clapped her hands with excitement.
“I said maybe!” Elain exclaimed, though she smiled at her younger sister's amusement. “I’ll have to find a good time for it.”
Oh, and a good time it was.
If there was one group of people who would not hesitate to laugh at Lucien’s misery, it would be Jurian and Vassa. In fact, more often than not they were the reason for his misfortune. So, with the two banes of his existence now under their own roof, Elain could not imagine a better opportunity to pull this stunt.
She quickly drank some water, before clearing her throat. With a deep breath she belted out.
“Lucien Spell Cleaver - Vanserra.”
The house went dead silent. Previous banter and laughing reduced to absolutely nothing. Elain was almost impressed, she didn’t think the trio were even capable of being mute.
There was a slight shuffle, before a few whispers reached Elain’s ears.
“...did you do?”
“Nothing that I recall.”
“Your memory must be quite shit.”
The sounds of a shove followed by the pained yelp of Jurian told Elain all she needed to know about which comment was said by whom.
She turned back to the counter, pretending to busy herself with the desert, ears straining as she heard the footsteps of Lucien, making their way towards her. His footsteps already sounded more hastened than usual.
There was a hesitation before a gentle hand rested on the small of her back. Elain twirled around to face him and it took everything in her not to burst out laughing.
Though he had attempted to look calm and collected, Lucien looked like the very definition of confused and panicked. His eyebrows were slightly pinched together, orbs of gold and russet appeared wider than usual, and his two-toned lips, usually curled into a teasing smirk, were frayed at the edges.
“What can I do for you dove?” Lucien tentatively asked, in the same voice one would use when approaching an animal. “Can I bring you a drink? Perhaps you need help with the dessert? In fact, why don’t you go chat with Jurian and Vassa while I finish it up and bring it to you? Might I say that the food has been incredible, you’ve really outdone yourself tonight.”
With each question and comment his pace grew more urgent, with his eyes scanning her face, hoping that one of his offers would resolve whatever unknown conflict was between them.
Elain giggled. “Don’t be silly, this is my favourite dessert to make! I do need you to do something for me though.”
“Of course petal,” he rapidly replied, “anything. Name it and it is yours.”
“I need you to grab that dish up there for me.”
She pointed to the clear glass serving tray that was at the very top of the cabinet. It was a gift from Nesta for Elain’s birthday and was decorated with beautiful blooming flowers that seemed to move on the glass.
Lucien practically ran to the cabinet, grabbed the dish, and was back at her side before Elain could even take a breath. He held it out to her and he shifted from side to side, as if waiting for her approval.
She was sure her face was red from holding in the laughter which was begging to be released.
“Thank you honey,” she replied, grasping the dish before turning back around to the dessert.
There was silence for a few moments before Lucien spoke up again. “Are you sure? If you need me to do something - or correct something I am very much willing.”
“No,” Elain responded, an innocent lilt in her voice, “nothing else.”
“Dove…are you sure?” He prodded.
“Of course. Why would there be?” Elain faced him again, but did double take at his expression.
Lucien almost resembled a kicked fox. His brows were drawn together, eye wide, his posture unsure, and if he had ears at the top of his head, she swore they would be dropping down.
Elain couldn’t keep up the gig any longer.
“Oh honey,” she cooed, taking a step forward and wrapping her arms around him, “I was playing a prank on you. I’m not upset or anything, I swear.”
His entire body sagged with relief into hers, before groaning in slight embarrassment. “I thought you were able to chop my balls off.”
An explosion of giggles and chuckles left her lips and she would have doubled over had it not been for them hugging. “It was Feyre’s idea if that helps at all.”
“Why am I not surprised?” Lucien muttered, “I’ll have to meet up with Rhys again and asks how he does it because both of our mates seem to love causing trouble.”
“Me? Never.” Elain jested, a hand splayed across her chest in mock offense.
A large hand trailed down her back and a shiver traveled throughout her body.
“But it’s of no regard for me,” Lucien replied, “I don’t mind a brat.”
~
Bonus scene:
“How long do you think they’ll take?” Jurian asked, his voice already dripping with exasperation.
“I’d say at least an hour or two.” Vassa replied, rearranging herself to get comfortable.
“Dammit, I was really looking forward to the dessert too.”

LucienWeek2024 Day Seven AU
Torpe
Word Count: 1300 @lucienweekofficial
Summary: When Lucien Vanserra broke up with his longtime girlfriend, Jesminda, he thought the world was ending. But in the midst of that ending, he encountered Elain Archeron seven times. On the seventh encounter, he finally learned her name, but timing and circumstances kept them apart until they met again a second time.
Read the prologue on AO3
Snippet:
The first time, they stood in line at the coffee shop, her back to him. He noticed her burnished golden hair—tied up messily, like she hadn’t planned to stay long.
The second time, they bumped shoulders on the narrow path between classes. He mumbled an apology; she waved it off with a quick, distracted smile neither of them would remember.
The third time, she dropped a stack of papers right in front of him. He crouched down to help, snatching up flyaway sheets as she hastily tried to gather them. “Thanks,” she muttered, barely glancing his way. “No problem,” he replied, equally distracted, their hands brushing briefly as he handed the stack back.
The fourth time, he was sitting under a tree on the lawn in front of the library, idly skimming through a book, when he spotted her striding across campus. Her pace was hurried but confident, her gaze fixed ahead. This time, he found himself watching her, following her path with his eyes, curious about where she was headed—and surprised by his own interest.
The fifth time, they both reached for the door to the dining hall, his hand brushing the metal just before hers. He held it open absentmindedly, still mid-conversation with a friend, but his gaze lingered on her just a moment longer than necessary. She offered him a quick, polite nod as she slipped past, barely noticing him—but for some reason, he couldn’t shake the small spark of awareness that had flickered between them.
The sixth time, he was waiting for his drink, this time ahead of her. When he turned, their eyes met. A pause stretched between them, and in that moment, they truly saw each other—her doe brown eyes steady, his gaze searching, both uncertain but intrigued. The background noise of the café faded, replaced by the silent electricity in the space between them. She smiled, small and genuine, and he found himself smiling back.
The earlier encounters didn’t matter. What mattered was the seventh—the one that would become their story. It was the one they’d tell around dinner tables with strangers, the story he’d recall when he proposed, the one they’d weave into their vows and wedding speeches. It was the memory they’d return to on quiet nights in bed, laughing over how it all began. Their children would ask about it, and they’d share it again when they saw their first off to college. The details faded, the nuances simplified, the time between shortened. But in the retelling, it always started when they first learned each other’s names. Even though their paths had been crossing long before, it was that moment that cemented their beginning.
Music drifted through the commons, barely registering in Lucien’s mind as he stared down at the textbook. His brow furrowed at a long, convoluted sentence, which he muttered aloud, hoping the words would make more sense that way. The unsettling feeling of being watched tugged at his attention, and he glanced up, surprised to see a familiar grin.
“Hello, stranger,” Feyre said, her gray eyes sparkling.
“Feyre,” Lucien replied, smiling despite himself. “It’s been a while.”
It had been—months since they’d last seen each other. Back then, they were inseparable, though more out of survival than choice. Bonded over the shared trauma of a sadistic professor, they’d spent sleepless nights decoding cryptic lecture notes, their friendship more necessity than anything else. Lucien remembered her fraught relationship back then, a boyfriend so possessive it was almost laughable. He’d urged her to leave the guy, and she eventually did, falling for someone else. Her new boyfriend, a Business major, occupied her time after that. Lucien didn’t mind. Some connections only last as long as the semester.
Feyre’s face softened, and Lucien braced himself for what was coming. “I heard about you and Jesminda. I’m sorry.”
He forced a smile. Jesminda. His grade school sweetheart. He’d thought they’d made it—surviving senior year, freshman year of college. He even bought a ring. But when he proposed, instead of joy, he’d seen fear in her eyes.
“This is too fast,” Jesminda had whispered.
“Too fast? Jes, we’ve been together since eighth grade.”
“And marriage is too fast,” she’d said, her voice trembling. “Especially when your father doesn’t approve.”
She had wanted space, a break to clear her head. Instead, he had ripped off the bandage, ending things completely. While Jesminda prepared for her study abroad in Japan that fall, Lucien had spent his nights in the beds of women whose names blurred together, each encounter an attempt to erase what he’d lost.
“It’s for the best,” Lucien murmured now, more to himself than to Feyre, though his words sounded hollow, even to his own ears.
Before Feyre could respond, a high, melodic voice interrupted. “Feyre, I’m starving. Can we just meet them already?”
Lucien’s head snapped up, and his breath stalled. There she was—the girl from the coffee shop who’d captured his attention in an instant, as if some invisible thread had drawn him to her. She was, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Large, soft brown eyes framed by long lashes, a cute button nose, and lips that were somehow perfectly full and inviting.
And now he had a name to go with the face that had lingered in his mind.

My only contribution to @lucienweekofficial is that I think he should have a tail like Cardan Greenbriar and whenever Elain is in the room it starts lashing side to side because he’s all agitated
