Read the pitch bible and I really liked a lot of the elements, but I was curious about what exactly is going to make Bowie's stand out compared to other mascot horror games? Thanks in advance!

What I hope to bring out in this horror story is an analogy to toxic positivity and emotional validation. I also want to add the fact that the "infected ones" we encounter that are the "enemies" of the game will infact not be killed but "saved". There will be wholesome moments between some of the survivors and perhaps an option to interact with Bowie himself, like patting his head and him going like "Aww! You're sweet, sugarcone" or something like that. Perhaps that mechanic can be for a chapter where the player has to keep an eye on their anxiety level during a section, with Bowie helping to lower it. I also hope to have a happy ending for this game too so yea...😅

Currently, I'm doing my best to write an outline for each and every chapter of the game. It's all a bit in jumbles and bits and pieces. I hope to flesh it out eventually.

If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!

Start with hands up, fingers stretched out.  Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.

Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.

Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times

The fact it's also about how the pure and innocent children/people deserve to be angry about the ruin and violence their lives had to forcefully inherit because of mistakes made by those before them and that love alone will never be enough to fix the horribleness that this world has handed to us all

ghhhhhh to douse a scalded tongue analysis after looking in-depth (this is the generic plot of the song i dont have a line-by-line) (lmk if yall want one tho)

tldr; peregrines parents were misguided but caring, the dad messed up a lot and the mom was willfully ignorant, which led to peregrine resenting them and leaving for the lark. then they started healing from their past and was able to see past the resentment to realize that while it doesnt excuse their actions, the parents did care

btw the lyrics are here and the song is here so you can check for yourself and offer up your own criticisms if you have them

so the intro right. its like perry going "my support system, while unstable, can keep me safe, but im gonna leave it anyways"

and then the spoken bit is a) pretty much in the equivalent of parentheses, elaborating on the context of their home

and b) going "my parents' relationship was awful, they always fought, and my dad was in the wrong but my mom wasnt able to see that due to her own willful ignorance, and it ticks me (+ any possible siblings) off immensely

and then it closes theoretical parentheses and says "im leaving my current home which only fulfills my material needs, not my emotional ones, and going to the lark because the lark are great!"

the next bit then basically goes "'keeping quiet and mindlessly obeying' isnt good, i dont like you adults that treated me badly" and possibly implies that this is being performed in peregrines hometown/near their old home?

and the "from faults, to favors, failures, and the truth" seems to be conveying that their past was focused on the bad stuff peregrine did, only the things the adults considered "wrong," never "right"

but their present is like healing, people being nice to them (favors) and realizing their mistakes are ok (failures), and the truth that caring for a person doesnt equate treating them right (love alone isnt enough)
