An anon once asked me “what would’ve happened if Knockout had died instead of Breakdown?” This is my answer.
(also, in case it’s hard to see, these are supposed to be Vehicons holding Breakdown back, I messed that one up badly, sorry)

Actually when I think about it, even tho IDW1 already has themes of the cyclical nature of violence (mainly in Barber's phase 2/3 work honestly) I feel like there are multiple interpersonal relationships that also convey this point specifically through the lens of intergenerational trauma in a way like. Terminus to Megatron to Tarn (fuck you could even throw in Tarn to Pharma as well) and the dangerous of radicalism and cult-figure behavior. Shockwave and Zeta to Optimus about how the responsibility of Saving the World/Creating a Good Society (TM) falls on the shoulders of One Guy who has to fix everything himself.
There's fertile ground there for something. I don't want to say literally intergenerational trauma as in familial, but... there's something

forever thinking about D-16’s “I want to kill him.” monologue. that initial line hit so hard. it was a line that made me think There He Is. because, yeah, that’s the megatron we know. that’s the megatron that worked in the mines, and when cybertron’s government turned its back on him, his rage won out. he devoted his life to something for nothing, for a world that didn’t give a damn about him. the story may have changed, but the essence of his origin is still there.

I've been scratching the itch of mundane Transformers content by making these.

This is how it seems to work:
Transformers Cartoon: this is Firetruck Steve he turns into a Firetruck wee woo wee woo
Transformers Comics: Firetruck Steve struggles with drug addiction due to his crushing guilt at not having saved more people from the flames
Transformers Fandom: Firetruck Steve must be held accountable for his war crimes
