warnings: panic attack?, self- inflected wounds, use of y/n, small spoilers of atwow, sfw
can also be found in wattpad: @lovingmils
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6
dictionary: pesu si nga fpìl nga lu - who do you think you are | sempu - dad | win säpi - hurry | keyawr fya'o - wrong way | kehe - no |
PART 6: “BLAMED”
your heart rate was increasing rapidly as you approached the shore. you hated being in huge crowds. in fact, ever since you appeared this planet gave you had the underlying sense of fear. a sense of deja-vu grew in your stomach as you recognised the same panic you felt on your arrival, but you brushed it off and climbed out of the water, standing far behind lo'ak.
it was late at night, later than you thought. clearly you had explored with lo'ak longer than you should have. only the light from the village and the torches held by the na'vi in front of you allowed you to see. your eyes darted around the crowd as you tried your hardest to find someone that wasn't looking at you like you were some...monster.
you couldn't even look at neteyam, not because neytiri was right beside him but because his gaze was equally full of distaste.
the hateful aura reminded you of his mother.
you hadn't even noticed lo'ak being harshly scolded by the village elders (mainly jake and ronal). you distracted yourself by digging your nails into the palms of your hands in a poor attempt to calm your breathing.
'its not that serious, you're fine y/n' you repeated the phrase in your head, closing your eyes as you hoped it would—
"and you!"
your eyes shot open as the loud voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
lo'ak had joined his siblings in the crowd, looking at you empathetically as he stood next to his mother.
ronal's eyes held nothing but fury, she held an accusing finger in your direction and angrily stormed towards you.
"pesu si nga fpìl nga lu!?" her shouting screaming switched from english to na'vi as ronal tried to convey her negativity in the strongest way possible."we give you shelter and you repay us like this!?"
wait a minute.
you hadn't heard much of what ronal said to lo'ak but there was no way it was this intense.
what was going on?
surely she wasn't this mad because her own child left you in the ocean?
however, your confused face only fuelled ronal’s anger.
"do not act fool, tawtute! you dare try to trick our children into exploring beyond the reef!? what authority do you have?!"
oh.
ao'nung had blamed you so he wouldn't get in trouble...
you turned to look at ao'nung, eyebrows furrowed as you awaited an explanation. your eyes widened as he refused to meet your gaze, his eyes glued to the floor in embarrassment.
you then looked at lo'ak with pleading eyes, begging him to defend you. instead, you watched neytiri's grasp on her son's shoulder tighten, forcing lo'ak to bite his lip in dejection and avoid your eyes regretfully.
…and no one was willing to defend you
ronal started walking closer towards you, forcing to stumble backwards. you were too shocked to speak so you stood in silence.
‘how could they abandon you so easily?’ thoughts of this sort overflowed your mind.
but how could you forget?
you were different. you had no place here. no matter how strong you thought your friendship was, you were always going to be the last choice.
I mean, when was the last time someone mentioned spider?
ronal's resentful words had been drowned out, it was replaced by a loud ringing throughout your eardrums
had your heartbeat always been so loud?
"sempu!" neteyam whispered, looking at you in worry. your head was down making it look as if your neck had gone limp. thick red liquid seeped from the nail-sized wounds down your palm, dripping onto the sand below.
he couldn't tell exactly what you were feeling but the moment your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, he knew something was up.
jake's serious demeanour faded as he allowed himself to view you as a 14 year old, a child and not an 'extra person'. he took a deep breath before placing himself in between you & ronal.
neteyam stepped forward and gently grabbed your wrist, pulling you away from the centre of the crowd. you lifted your head up and stared at jake and ronal, curious of the type of conversation they were having. you kept your silence as you allowed neteyam to inspect the wounds on your palms.
the ringing noise eventually died out and you turned your attention to the na'vi in front of you.
"they lied." you muttered. neteyam looked up at the sound of your voice, but froze at the meaning of your words. he had a feeling what he heard wasn't the whole truth when he watched lo'ak try to explain the situation, but was interrupted by the scolding voice of his father.
"nobody said anything. they just..." you breathed out, shaking you head in denial. "you...you knew he lied! I know you did! so why—" you breathing had become heavier and your chest was tightening as you spoke.
"y/n...." neteyam started. there wasn't anything to say, but he couldn't just stay silent.
"I'm your friend...aren't I? am I..not...somebody who...matters to you?" you harshly rub your neck in an attempt to make breathing easier.
"you must understand...my mother—are you okay?" neteyam took hold of your wrist, pulling it away from your neck as it was doing more harm than good.
you open your mouth to speak but no words come out. now you were really struggling. nonetheless, you stay stubborn and rip your hand away from neteyam's hold and continue to rub your neck as you try to find some relief.
after defusing the situation, jake walked over to the pair of you, "y/n, we decided it was best if we continued this in the morning..." he trailed off as he noticed the current situation.
the harsh rubbing eventually turned into hitting your chest firmly. your legs buckled beneath you, forcing you to fall onto the sand below. the two na'vi immediately kneeled down in front of you as they tried to make sense of what was happening.
"y/n! y/n!" jake called, grabbing your attention. "calm down, just take deep breaths."
your eyes narrowed at his words and you weakly hit his shoulder (it was clear you wanted to hit him way harder), as if you were saying, 'can't you see I'm trying to!?"
neteyam attempted to help you stand up, but was surprised when pushed him away. '
"win säpi! we need to get some help," jake easily picked you up and started running towards the scientists' maui (it was really a make-shift lab).
suddenly, you let out a series of coughs and finally took a deep breath. jake stopped running and gently placed you back onto your feet, making sure to hold onto your shoulder in case you fell again. neteyam caught up to the two of you, placing a hand on your other shoulder as he watched you catch your breath.
"I'm fine...tomorrow morning it is," you panted, slowly starting to walk in the opposite direction, towards your maui. "keyawr fya'o." neteyam sighed, taking hold of your arm and pulling you towards the scientists' maui.
————
after spending 45 minutes being examined, they concluded that the unknown device placed in your trachea had malfunctioned. jake and neteyam had stayed the whole 45 minutes, but with the tension from earlier in the evening it was just a long awkward silence.
once the scientists had finished, you rushed out of the maui not bothering to spare even a glance. at this point, you just wanted to sleep. this evening was a harsh wake-up call, making you question everything and everyone.
“y/n!” you heard a voice call out, you saw your maui ahead and wondered if you should just make a run for it; but you decided against it and stopped walking.
neteyam stopped in front of you, it was obvious he wanted to talk to you about what happened. “i knew ao’nung lied about you trying to trick them because you told us you were scared of the ocean,” he explained, pausing as he expected you to say something.
when you stayed silent he cleared his throat and continued, “lo’ak tried to defend you but was ignored, and i couldn’t say anything because—“
“don’t worry about it.” you interrupted, sighing deeply before looking up at him. “i don’t really care anymore, we’ve been friends for a short time. i’m not expecting anyone to go above and beyond for me, a strong friendship is enough,” you shrugged slightly.
friend? neteyam felt his heart drop to his stomach at the word. but what was he expecting?
he could tell you had no interest in this conversation anymore, so neteyam decided to drop the subject. “i guess we became close friends in a short time, huh?” he smiled, glad to see the tension between the two of you was finally settled.
“yeah, yeah” you chuckled, shaking your head slightly. “whatever happens tomorrow, i’ll make sure i’m not the only one suffering.
“am i friend if i let you suffer alone?” he wasn’t worried for tomorrow, whatever rules are set he knows you’ll break anyway.
“goodnight neteyam! oh, and make sure lo’ak is okay, too. your dad is scary” you waved goodbye and started walking away
he grinned at your words, he was glad you forgave him so quickly. he didn’t want to lose your friendship over a single evening, you were your friendship was too valuable to him
————
“2 weeks in isolation?” you looked at jake in confusion. it was early in the morning and you had been, rudely awakened from your slumber by jake’s heavy footsteps.
“it was the tsahík’s decision not mine,” jake sighed, not even understanding your punishment himself.
“what is this? jail?” you got up from your hammock and started walking out of the maui, you wanted an explanation.
jake quickly pulled you back inside, “2 weeks of isolation…in here.”
you stared at him speechless for a few seconds, trying to figure out how this was the final conclusion. “why am i being put in house arrest for something i didn’t do!?”
“y/n the decision is final, it’d be easier for you to just accept it. just think of it as a rest, after yesterday you’d probably benefit from it.” jake explained calmly then left your maui without a word.
“wait—! but how am i meant to eat!?” you scoffed at the lack of reply, sitting back on hammock in defeat.
— ——- —-
after a few hours two people walked into your maui. you shot up in excitement at the sight of other people, being in solitary confinement made you crave social interactions.
“kiri!” you squealed, hugging her tightly. you had seen tuk more times then kiri so you were especially glad to finally get to talk to her.
“ahhh y/n! i feel like i haven’t seen you in forever!” she matched your energy, bending down to return your hug.
after releasing the hug you noticed the metkayina girl standing shyly behind kiri.
“you’re…tsireya, right?” you desperately hoped that was her name, you had only talked briefly before but never got the chance to have a full conversation with her.
“mhm!” tsireya nodded excitedly when you remembered her name. she then gently placed down a tray of food and drinks on the floor and sat down beside it, gesturing for you two to join her.
- - — - — —-
once you & kiri had sat down she looked at you apologetically, “y/n…i’m really sorry about yesterday, if ao’nung got in trouble again he knew the consequences would be worse so he…blamed you.”
“yeah…lo’ak managed to tell our parents in the evening, but neither of them wanted to interfere..” kiri added on, her ears dropping slightly.
“it’s fine, i was just really startled yesterday.” your heart ached as you recalled the overwhelming sadness and shock that struck you the previous night. “but i don’t want to dwell on something negative, which is why neither of you can leave me yet.” you started, ready to lighten the atmosphere.
“don’t worry, everyone is quite busy so we can get away with staying here for at least an hour” tsireya smiled playfully, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
the three of you feasted on the tray of fruits and juices, laughing together as you shared stories from each of your backgrounds.
“we are the literally the best mix of people! i can’t believe we hadn’t talked like this sooner!” tsireya exclaimed, placing a sweet berry into her mouth as she leaned back contentedly.
“hurry up!”
“we’ll get caught at this rate!”
the atmosphere became tense once again, as you heard three sets of footsteps stumble into your maui. you braced yourself for the worst but you were happily surprised with familiar faces.
“lo’ak! neteyam!” you eagerly called them over to sit with the three of you, a stupid smile plastered on your face at the appearance of your friends.
you awkwardly stared at the final na’vi who stood in front of the entrance, “uhh…”
you watched tsireya’s face burn with rage at the sight of her brother, but you didn’t want to waste time arguing. instead you took a deep breath a smiled kindly, “ao’nung, come sit! my house-arrest officers will come for me soon enough,”
“anyway, how did you guys know i was in isolation?” you asked, leaning in curiously.
“…all of the elders made it a huge deal for us to stay away from your maui unless we were giving you food,” neteyam explained, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
“but since all the adults were all occupied, we came to hang out!” lo’ak added,
“until we get found and kicked out that is…” kiri reminded, getting a harsh shove from lo’ak in return.
“y/n…” ao’nung started, looking at you in embarrassment. everyone immediately went quiet, turning towards ao’nung to awaiting his next words. “…i’m sorry, i…shouldn’t have blamed you like that. i’ll—“
upon hearing his (makeshift) apology, you could truly let go of the situation; you decided to revisit those feelings later.
“you’re forgiven!” you cheered, smiling brightly. your bubbly tone earned many baffled expressions from around the room.
“y/n, you understand he could’ve gotten you kicked out? are you seriously going to forget about it so quickly?” lo’ak muttered, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“i never said i’ll forget about it,” you said, glancing at ao’nung. “but i don’t see a reason to hold a grudge. now, let’s all move past this and play a game!”
——— - -
“okay, does everyone understand the rules?” you asked, standing by the entrance of your maui. the game you had decided on was hide & seek, it would be in teams of two and in the dark (since you would attract attention if you were holding a torch). the decided teams were: tsireya & kiri, you & neteyam and lo’ak & ao’nung.
“still don’t see why i have to be paired up with him…” lo’ak sighed, looking at ao’nung from the corner of his eye. ao’nung scoffed at his action rolling his eyes in disdain.
“count to 100!—or zam, ugh i never can understand how you guys count,” you ignore lo’ak’s complaints and quietly sneak out of your maui with your partner. you ran in the opposite direction to kiri & tsireya to make it harder for the seekers to find you.
“here!” neteyam pointed to a large wood structure behind a group of mauis.
“they’ll never find us here, i bet they won’t even look this far,” you said, peering through a gap in the structure. you and neteyam were sat in opposite corners, enough to be hidden from view but you were still able to see if anyone came close.
neteyam nodded in agreement to your words, but it was evident something else was on his mind. “do you ever miss your old life?” he blurted out, awaiting your answer curiously
“my old life? so like earth?” you adjusted your position to face him. “of course! i think about my family and friends everydaywhy do you ask?”
“oh, no reason,” he shrugged, “i was just curious”
as the conversation died out, you let your imagination take over; letting you enjoy the tranquil silence of the night. neteyam however, took your distraction as an opportunity to study your appearance. something about the way your features complemented eachother so harmoniously gave him an overwhelming sense of longing peace.
his gaze trailed from your hair, to your eyes, to your nose and then your lips. he wanted to feel all of them.
technically, he wasn’t the son of the olo’eyktan anymore so…to think this way isn’t—
‘kehe! i can’t get carried away. thinking like that is useless.’ he got up from his position and started to creep out of the hiding spot. “lo’ak and ao’nung don’t seem to be good seekers, i’m going to check where they are. i’ll be back soon.”
—-
a few minutes passed and there was still no sight of neteyam. “i bet he got caught..” you jokingly rolled your eyes at the thought. just as you prepared to get up to search for him, you felt a tap on your shoulder.
“finally! i thought you got—oh.”
jake towered over you, clearly unimpressed. stood behind him were all five of your friends, looking at you apologetically.
———-
after two days your punishment stood strong, and sadly none of your friends were allowed to deliver your food. you sat on your hammock staring blankly at the ceiling, when you heard loud commotion outside, you peaked your head at through the window and saw the whole village on the shore pointing to something on the horizon.
“the humans have returned with our spirit brothers & sisters!” tonowari exclaimed, diving into the water to greet his tuklun.
“everyone seems quite occupied…i’m sure the won’t mind if i get some fresh air,” you shrugged and quickly snuck out of your maui. as you approached the coast you saw a small white speedboat parked by the dock, you raised your eyebrow at the sight and took a few sly steps to get closer look.
“now i think about it….ronal did mention something about two other humans that had lived in the village before me. would hurt to say hi—” you froze in you tracks when you spotted a boy (clearly no younger than 16) strolling along the beach.
he looked so familiar.
as you made eye-contact with the familiar figure to felt the air be knocked out of your lungs.
“…b/n?” you whispered, stumbling backwards. you were unable to catch yourself and fell onto the sand below. however, your eyes were glued to the figured in front of you, tears welled up in your eyes at the possibility this situation being what you tirelessly hoped for.
“y/n!” your older brother smiled, running towards you open arms.
well it’s here now…we gonna ignore what i said earlier
tbf i was putting it off posting it because when i copy and paste it to wattpad i have to do paragraph by paragraph which is so tedious
so i have to write it on a different platform and paste it because…that is not for the weak
i’m so excited to write the next chapter! it’s how i came up w this book yayaya

ꜰᴀʀ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ʜᴏᴍᴇ┊ avatar x human!reader
Warnings: follows avatar twow plot (aka spoils the whole thing) , sfw, mention fear of water, some ooc, use of y/n, female reader
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍...
you manage to get lost on your way home, you unintentionally get yourself caught in a sketchy science experiment...yikes. you wake up in a foreign land (or shall I say planet) that filled with 8-10ft tall blue...creatures?
can also be found on wattpad - @lovingmils
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6
dictionary: tawtute - human | ftang - stop | tsahìk - spiritual leader/healer | sevin - beautiful | skxawng - idiot/moron
part 5: "FEAR" 2.6k words
you sat on the sand, holding your knees close to you as you let the tide flow in and wash over your feet. it’s been a week since you and the sully family arrived, and you haven’t hung out with anybody for longer than 10 minutes. and today was no exception; you were in your own little world, looking peacefully out into the distance as you let your mind roam free.
“where’s y/n?” lo’ak asked, taking a deep breath as he, neteyam and kiri swam back up to the surface. they were being taught by tsireya and ao’nung the ways of the water and failed to notice your disappearance.
“oh yeah! i haven’t seen her all day..” kiri replied, feeling slightly guilty for failing to notice the absence of her friend.
“is that her?” tsireya gracefully emerged from the waves and pointed at a distant figure sitting by the shore.
“let’s go check on her.” neteyam said, swimming back to the beach.
your eyes were fully closed as you tried to immerse yourself in your surroundings. it was a poor meditation attempt that caused you to be oblivious to the approaching group of na’vi.
“boo!” neteyam shouted, laughing at your frightened face. “what’cha doing all alone, hm?” he sat down next to you, stretching out his legs in front of him.
“first of all, that wasn’t funny! i was meditating.” you pouted angrily, roughly pushing his shoulder. “and i’m not alone! i’m just..not in the water.”
“and why is that?” he turned to face you curiously, rubbing his shoulder to soothe the stinging sensation.
“because…” you suddenly felt embarrassed as now lo’ak and kiri had sat down next to you, eagerly awaiting your answer.
“because??” lo’ak shook your arm lightly, urging you to hurry up.
“I'm scared of the ocean” you mumbled, looking away awkwardly.
“huh? speak up! we won’t judge you!” kiri furrowed her eyebrows and moved to sit directly in front of you.
“I'm scared of the ocean.”
“louder!”
“I'm scared of the ocean okay!?”
before the trio could even respond, they were interrupted by loud laughter. your heart dropped as you looked behind you. It was ao’nung (the boy who had mocked you upon arrival) and two of his friends. they were laughing hysterically as they walked closer to you.
“aww! poor little tawtute can’t even swim?” ao’nung laughed, nudging your back with his foot.
your face burned red from embarrassment and anger; you stood up and turned to face ao’nung.
“shut up! at least i can breathe on your planet. try lasting as long as i have on earth.” you retorted, looking at him furiously.
“yeah, that’s only because you’re some sort of mutant!” lo’ak shot up from his position and quickly punched ao’nung’s face.
“say that again, i dare you.” lo’ak spat, standing in front of you.
“lo’ak! leave it. let’s just go.” neteyam scolded, lightly grabbing his brother’s shoulder and pulling him away.
the four of you had taken about 5 steps before ao’nung muttered an insult calling the three siblings’ stupid freaks’, which had caused lo’ak to immediately run back and punch ao’nung once again. a huge fight broke out, neteyam joining to protect his brother, and you entered to stop the third person from ganging up on the two.
“my ear!”
“let go! you’re ripping my hair out!”
“ow, ow! my tail!”
kiri couldn’t help but laugh at the scene. The three of you looked like idiots, yet she felt happy you stood up for yourselves.

you, lo’ak and neteyam stood in a line in front of jake.
“what’s the one thing i asked!?” he angrily glanced at all of you as he paced around the marui.
“to stay out of trouble.” lo’ak responded, earning a surprised look from you, as you’d forgotten what jake had asked in the first place.
neteyam tried to explain the situation but was quickly shut down by jake, scolding him for trying to take the blame off you two,
“and you!” jake exclaimed, looking down at you with an expression of both anger and shock. “y/n do you realise how quickly you could get banished!? in fact, you could get us all banished!”
“wait dad—it wasn’t her fault. they made fun of her for not being able to swim and called her a mutant! she didn’t initiate anything.” lo’ak defended you, taking a step forward and unconsciously using one of his arms to shield you.
“...I can swim! I just have a small...fear of being in deep water ,” you whispered, looking down awkwardly.
“…” jake exhaled, both stressed and tired about this situation. “go and apologise.”
“but!—”
“that is the chief’s son! do you understand that? now go, all of you. and y/n, you better pray you don’t get exiled because of this.”
“why is your dad so scary…” you whispered, walking quickly out of the marui. “look, i’m still shaking!”
“try living 14 years with him.” lo’ak jokingly replied, ignoring neteyam’s eye-roll.
◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
after apologising to ao’nung, your decided ‘punishment’ was to overcome your fear of the water. that way you’d be more helpful around the clan.
“how is this fair! all y/n has to do is spend more time in the water!” lo’ak complained, lying flat on the sand in frustration.
your head was resting on neteyam’s lap, as he had offered it to you after you kept complaining about sand getting into your hair. you turned your head to look at lo’ak’s small tantrum and let out a muffled laugh.
“is something funny?” lo’ak asked, sitting up to face the two of you. lo’ak’s face was covered in sand, you could barely even see his actual skin. neteyam immediately burst out laughing, putting an arm around you to ensure you didn’t fall as he twisted and turned in hysterics.
“bye. i’m not staying here to be laughed at.” lo’ak playfully crossed his arms and got up and started to leave. neteyam tried to call out for him to stay yet he could barely catch his breath due to his laughter. by the time he had finally finished, lo’ak was long out of sight.
you looked up at neteyam, raising your eyebrow questioningly. “why do you always try to roll away when you laugh? i bet if you were unrestricted, you would roll into the ocean!” you tease, chuckling at your own words.
neteyam leaned down and looked at you teasingly, “oh yeah?” he immediately grabbed your waist and adjusted himself. Hence, you were parallel to the shoreline. “we’ll see who’s gonna roll into the ocean alright.”
before you could question his plans, he started rolling towards the water.
“wait!..sto-” you tried to protest. but he was rolling so fast it was hard to take deep breaths, let alone talk. as you felt the cold waves splash against your skin, you let out a high-pitched squeal. neteyam laughed mischievously before finally letting go of your waist. he noted your fear of the ocean and didn’t want to push your boundaries, so the water's height was only slightly above your ankles.
“… i’m actually speechless.” you scoffed, standing up to look at him directly. “you’re gonna pay for that!” you ran slightly deeper into the water, bending down to pick up a handful of sand and threw it straight into his face.
he stood in shock and wiped the sand off his face, “that’s how it is, huh?” a massive handful of sand was launched at you; the throw was so powerful it caused you to stumble a bit. you laughed it off, joking about how his big hands gave him an advantage as you fought back, using two hands to ‘even it out’.
after a while of going back and fourth neteyam held is hands up in surrender, “ftang, ftang! you win!” you both sat against a tree trunk, sighing with exhaustion. you sat in silence, staring at the sunset and listening to the waves crashing against the shore.
neteyam however, wasn’t looking at the sunset. he could look at that tomorrow. right now, he was looking at you. he would be lying if he said he didn’t notice your absence from the group; every minute you weren’t in his sight it felt like he was missing something. and when he did see you, somebody was always there. so he decided to cherish this moment.
his gaze lingered over each of your features, he had known you for almost 3 months yet he still felt as if there was so much to learn about you.
“sevin”, he mumbled, the mere sigh of your face left him awestricken. how could somebody so beautif—
“huh?” you asked, turning to look him at him curiously.
‘i’m such an idiot. this could never work. stay focused, neteyam.’ he thought, though a small part of him was still holding onto the fantasy of a future with you. “it’s nothing.” he responded, forcing himself to look away. “oh i forgot to ask, are you okay? it feels like i haven’t seen you in ages.” he had no idea why you distanced yourself, but he knew he didn’t like it.
“what do you mean? i’ve been with you, like, all day,” you reply, trying your hardest to avoid his question.
“y/n.” he calls out, shifting his body to face you completely. “i’m here for you; whatever you're thinking about, you can tell me,” he says, smiling slightly.
“…i miss my family. a lot.” you admitted it was hard enough to accept you’ve been kidnapped, but how would they find you if you weren’t even on earth? “ever since we came here, i feel like it lessens the chance of my family ever finding me. not like they’d find me on another planet anyway…”
neteyam paused; he didn’t know how to comfort you. “…uh if i’m honest, i can’t relate to you. so i won’t say i know how you feel because…i don’t.”
he thought for a moment, then placed his hand on your shoulder, “i know you’ll see your family again; if you're thinking about them imagine how much they are thinking about you. also, when a na’vi has a feeling something will happen, it always happens when you least expect it.” his poor attempt to comfort you made you chuckle, it was so obvious the last part was a lie, but you appreciated his effort.
“i remember the tsahìk mentioning two other humans. we could go and ask around tomorrow?”
“how did you remember that? but we should definitely ask around,” you said, standing up and starting to walk back to the marui.
a five-minute walk turned into fifteen due to the number of foolish jokes you both kept laughing at.
neteyam froze when he saw Jake standing at the entrance to their marui. a huge smile appeared on your face upon remembering you have your own separate marui.
placing a comforting hand on neteyam’s arm, “have fun with that~!” you tease, earning an annoyed look. “g’night, sir!” you saluted playfully and skipped off towards your own marui.
◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
despite neteyam’s kind words, you had to spend the day with lo’ak...and ao’nung.
you were in a makeshift wooden boat (a few logs tied together with twine) and paddled as fast as you could to keep up with the rest of the group.
“we aren’t allowed to be here, and I’m in the middle of the ocean! why did I agree to follow them,” you angrily mumble as you try your best to steady the ‘boat’ against the waves.
“nobody forced you to come with us, tawtute,” one of ao’nungs friends teased, riding his ilu closer to you to try and knock you off your balance.
“skxawng” it was true; they didn't drag you out to sea. but they did bother you for about 10 minutes prior teasing you for ‘being too scared.’
“tawtute, wait here, we gotta show your buddy lo’ak something.” ao’nung smirks mischievously before diving underwater. lo’ak and the rest of the group soon follow.
after waiting on the surface for around five minutes, you finally decided to peer into the ocean to try and see what was going on. “this is boring.” you said, rethinking your decision to even follow them in the first place.
slipping away behind you was ao’nung and his friends snickering mischievously at their plan.
you turned around and tried to call them, but the waves were growing more & more prominent, making it impossible for you to paddle. a couple minutes later, lo’ak comes back up to the surface.
“where did they go?” he looks at you confused, hoping you had seen them.
“they—” you were cut off by a large akula 'shooting' up from below. it tried to attack lo’ak’s ilu, but it managed to escape by diving into the water...knocking you (and lo’ak) into the ocean.
this was your biggest fear. being stranded in the ocean with a large marine animal waiting to eat you. opening your eyes, you make out a blurry silhouette racing towards you. lo’ak grabs onto your arm and swims into a large coral reef. the giant fish wasn’t far behind, destroying the coral structures to get closer to you. the akula tries to break through the final piece of coral but ultimately fails and swims away.
you had been knocked into the water without warning, so you didn’t get a chance to get enough air. plus, any air you did have exited your lungs the second you saw the akula swimming towards you. turning to what you hoped was lo'ak (as all you could see was a blurry blue figure) you try to signal you need to go up for air; it seems he is struggling too, so you swim up towards the surface.
however, the akula was still hot on your trail. you take one last glance at the surface and blackout.
◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
“y/n! wake up!” lo’ak shook your shoulders intensely. you had blacked out first yet still wouldn’t wake up.
coughing up a bit of water, you sit up and look around. “...where are we?”
“woah..why are your eyes so red?” lo’ak asks, moving closer to get a better look at your eyes.
you feel your cheeks heat up due to how close your faces were. using your index finger, you push his forehead away from your face. “humans aren’t supposed to open their eyes in saltwater, skxawng”
you and lo’ak both flinch when a blowhole shoots out water. “let's check it out,” lo’ak says, already diving into the water to get a look at whatever animal you were sitting on.
“yeah sure, let the girl afraid of the ocean look at an abnormally big marine animal,” you mumble, taking a deep breath and following after lo’ak.
pulling yourself onto one of its fins, you realise it has a hook wedged deep inside.
“what a nasty wound..” you cringe at the sight, wondering how bad it must hurt to swim around with a hook lodged in your arm.
“it's a tulkun! we have to help him! ill push up from the bottom, you pull from the top.” lo’ak instructed, swimming underneath to try and remove the hook.
as there were two people, the hook was removed quickly, and the tulkun swam around thankfully, earning a relieved smile from both of you.
after a couple hours of exploring the ocean with your new friend, you sat on top of the tulkun while lo’ak stood on one of it’s fins.
“why isn’t this tulkun with the rest of the clan? I thought they travel in huge groups?” you ask, admiring the glowing freckles on both lo’ak and the tulkun.
“it must’ve been banished from the clan...so call him payakan instead. “lo’ak looks at payakan with pity, as if they were both feeling the same sadness.
you see a group of na'vi riding some sort of flying fish in the air holding lanterns trying to look in the water.
“get down! they are looking for us,” you whisper-shout, tugging on lo’ak’s ankle.
“go! I will see you again!” lo’ak signs, gesturing for payakan to leave before he could be seen.
you gave payakan a sweet wave goodbye before swimming back to the clan with lo’ak.
seeing the whole clan, neteyam, jake and neytiri, standing on the coast waiting for you both to arrive, you felt the entire world stop.
“ahh.. it’s over for me...”
thank you sm for reading!! this was lowkey a filler chapter, but I tried to put in some more interactions to make it interesting
now onto the fun stuff (๑>ᴗ<๑)

PART 4: “FRUSTRATION” 2.3k words
"thank you!" you smiled as you graciously accepted the bowl of fruits neteyam offered.
"so...what brings you here?" neteyam asked, sitting on the couch beside you.
"i figured lo'ak would be in trouble, but when you and spider didn't show up, i was...uhh...you know, disappointed...i guess," you said, fiddling with your fingers in embarrassment. you didn't realise how clingy you sounded.
suddenly, a loud noise from the other room interrupted neteyam's reply.
"i'm good!" lo'ak called out, holding onto the doorframe as he stumbled out of the room. "oh, hi, y/n!" lo'ak flashed a grin and sat down next to you.
"..are you okay? what were you doing in there?" you questioned, lifting an eyebrow in amusement.
"oh yeah, about that...my dad prohibited me from hunting & flying for a month, so I decided to practise so when he sees me next, i'll look like an expert!" lo'ak exclaimed, dramatically looking off into the distance.
"now I understand why you're always in trouble," neteyam sighed, shaking his head disappointedly.
you all spent hours continuing the conversation, laughing at stupid jokes and teasing each other relentlessly. this was the best, no, the only way you knew how to have fun with your friends. you acted like this on earth, so it was no surprise you were like this on pandora.
"why...why are you two laughing like that?" neteyam asked, exhaling as he finally caught his breath from (what he thought) was a hilarious story of yours.
you and lo'ak were curled up on the floor, cradling your stomachs as you laughed.
"sh..shut up, you skxwang!" lo'ak playfully replied,
"boys, you better not be messing around!" the stern voice from outside caused you both to shoot off the floor.
'why didn't I think of this!? why did I stay for so long!? I'm going to die! it's over for me!' you frantically looked around the house, desperate for a way out.
as if reading your thoughts, lo'ak tried to comfort you by saying, "don't worry, the worst they can do is send you back to the lab!"
you ignored your friend and ran straight into a random room of the house, holding your breath fearfully as you prayed not to get caught.
jake walked into the house, neytiri & her daughters following close behind him. lo'ak and neteyam stood awkwardly in the middle of the living room, staring silently at their father.
jake glanced at the spare bedroom, which had its door wide open, and sighed, "girls go to your room." neytiri looked at her mate with confusion; she, kiri and tuk had only run into jake on the way back from their day out, so she had no idea what was happening.
once kirk and tuk had got out of sight, jake turned to the spare bedroom and firmly called out, "y/n, come out."
your whole world froze, and you felt your heart drop to your stomach; indeed, it was over for you now. you bit on your tongue and reluctantly walked out of the room.
"...wait outside, I need to talk to you." you immediately followed jakes request, lowering your head in respect as you practically ran out of the house. you stiffly stood outside the sully residence, too embarrassed by the harsh stares of the elderly na'vi below to move from your current position.
"what was a disgusting creature like her doing in my house!?" neytiri's furious shouting caused you to flinch, but intriguing you nonetheless as you moved closer to the door to eavesdrop.
"she's our friend...and we weren't doing anything dangerous!" lo'ak retorted, though he dared not raise his voice at his mother.
"i'm pretty certain I forbid you both from any sort of social interactions outside of your expected responsibilities," jake angrily replied.
"I am the one to blame. it's my duty as the eldest to watch over my siblings; I failed to do so and even disobeyed you myself. So I take full responsibility." neteyam apologised, stepping forward in front of lo'ak.
"how dare either of you let someone of such a filthy and despicable species step foot into this household!" neytiri 's hateful words wounded a special place in your heart. you had known about neytiri's extreme dislike for humans beforehand, but you couldn't help but feel upset after being described with so many insults.
jake placed a reassuring hand on his lover's shoulder before sending his two sons back into their rooms with a powerful glare that said, 'I'll deal with you later.'
you stood paralysed with shock as you heard jake tell Neytiri that their whole family must leave the omaticaya and seek safety in a nearby oceanic clan, as the RDA is hunting them, which could endanger the entire clan.
"I don't understand why we have to bring the girl with us; she serves us no purpose." neytiri sighed, rubbing her temples.
'I'm going with them!?...is that what jake wanted to tell me...?'
"y/n can breathe the air on pandora without a mask, and if she were captured, she'd surely be researched. which means that the RDA could obtain the device that allows them to breathe freely." jake explained (though he'd never admit it); he was afraid of the possibility of exopacks becoming useless.
'is the fact ill become a cheap science experiment not valid enough!?' you scoffed in disbelief.
"how do you know the clan will accept her? if she is rejected, are you planning to go somewhere else?" neytiri asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice. she could barely tolerate being around you. let alone the idea of her whole family revolving around you wasn't exactly on her bucket list.
"various islands surround the clan, so we can invite a couple of scientists to look after and live with her."
jake's words caused your heart to drop to your stomach, was his alternate plan seriously making you spend the rest of your life on a remote island with scientists!? as the tears welled in your eyes, you felt your frustration building until you couldn't take it anymore. you clenched your fist and ran back to the lab, not daring to look back.
—————————————————————
"...i know they don't like me, but to ignore that his children and i are friends is so...insensitive!" you groaned. you were lying in florence's lap, bitterly explaining your side of the story as she drew in her 'research journal'.
"i think he's just putting his family first," florence responded, leaning over to grab another colouring pencil.
"yeah, right!" you scoffed, "does it not bother you that he's pretending he wasn't even human? he was born and raised on earth, whether he likes it or not; that's the truth."
"jake's probably trying to forget about his old life and focus on his new one." florence reasoned, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"i'm trying to complain bout somebody! stop reasoning with them," you huffed, "have you seen spider? he would agree with me," you hadn't heard from spider since the 'incident'; you ran off as soon as help had arrived, so you didn't see where everyone went.
"about that..." florence started, awkwardly clearing her throat. "the recom squad...kidnapped him."
"what!?" you exclaimed, sitting up and turning to look at florence. "why did nobody tell me!? why is everybody so calm!? why has nobody gone to rescue him!?"
"enough questions! y/n, there's only so much we can do. their location and motives are unknown." florence exhaled, "he'll be okay. spider is a strong kid."
"...ehm, uhh florence? is...uh...y/n in there?" you shifted your attention to the lab entrance at the sound of jake's voice. his voice wasn't firm; instead, he sounded...embarrassed?
florence stood up and mouthed the words, "do. not. move." she then walked over to the door and welcomed jake into the lab. "I'll give you two some privacy," florence smiled and left the room.
"I already know what you're going to say," you mumbled, angrily fidgeting with your fingers. "don't stress yourself. you won't have to be around a 'disgusting creature like me' for much longer. I'm perfectly fine staying with florence."
"neytiri doesn't mean it. she has a bit of a...grudge against the sky people because of the war." jake responded, kneeling to make eye contact with you.
"sky people? it's so aggravating to hear you deny your humanity! sorry to break it to you, but nothing can erase the fact that you are a human!" you shouted. you knew his life was none of your business, and you overreacted a bit, but you've said too much to back out now.
"was. i was a human. I'm not one anymore." jake corrected, letting out a frustrated sigh as he stood up.
"whatever you want to believe," you scoffed, "but you can rest easy because I'm not going anywhere with you." you got off the floor and angrily walked to your bedroom.
—————————————————————
"why do ikrans have to be so uncomfortable!" you complained, twisting and turning as you tried to find a comfortable spot on neteyam's ikran.
"shut up! at least your small enough to lie down," lo'ak groaned, slowing down to ride next to you and neteyam.
"will you two skxawngs ever stop fighting?" neteyam sighed, shaking his head in exhaustion.
"I'm not even sure if I'll be allowed to stay. so i need to annoy lo'ak as much as possible cause i might not get a chance to do it again," you explained, flashing a petty grin at lo'ak.
"if they don't let you in, what do you plan to do?" kiri asked, peering out from behind lo'ak.
"your dad said i'd live with some scientists on a nearby island. which is a really exciting life plan to look forward to!" you exclaimed, sarcastically smiling.
"dad! my butt hurts...are we there yet?" tuk whined, pouting slightly.
"tuk, you've asked that question five times in the last 10 minutes. does it look like we are still travelling!?" lo'ak groaned, looking at the intricate structure of awa'atlu. the water was clear, beautifully displaying each animal and plant that resided in the ocean.
"tìnfu!" jake shouted, tugging on the reigns (??) of his ikran as he prepared to land on the approaching island.
"you ready?" neteyam asked, glancing back at you as his ikran landed on the shore of the Metkayina reefs.
"...i wanna go home," you whispered, jumping off the ikran and onto the soft sand of the awa'atlu.
"i know, so do i," he replied, giving you a soft, reassuring smile.
the people of the metkayina clan started to take notice of their new visitors. judgementally, pointing and gossiping about you all. You unconsciously started walking backwards, trying to keep your distance from the crowd.
"what is it? is that supposed to be a tail?" a young metkayina boy mocked, pointing at neteyam's and lo'ak's tails. the boy had a braided bun that eventually connected to his queue.
"is that a tawtute?" you heard someone exclaim.
"what's a human doing here?" someone else shouted.
"it's so...ugly!" you felt somebody roughly pull on your hair; you uttered a painful 'ow' before tugging away to look for the culprit. unsurprisingly, it was the same boy that mocked neteyam and lo'ak before, and he was already mischievously smirking at you, you could tell he'd be a problem in the future.
you had zoned out for most of the conversation between jake and the metkayina tribe leaders. you kept your focus on the sand below, hoping that if you counted enough grains of sand, nobody would notice your presence.
"what use would the human be here? we already have two! at least they provide some help!" the tsahìk, ronal proclaimed, inspecting every inch of your body before making eye contact. "whats wrong now? does she not have the ability to communicate?"
you 'd failed to greet ronal with the 'oel ngati kameie' gesture, which is how you'd start a conversation with somebody more respected that you. which led her to believe you didn't understand her.
"...no! sorry! i didn't know if it'd be disrespectful to do the...gesture, cause I'm not like..." you nervously apologised.
'I'm such an idiot! now they probably think i don't respect them...'
"what use will you be to us?" ronal asked, fiercely staring into your eyes.
"...uhh...I can...no I'm.." you looked at jake for assistance, but he only motioned for you to answer her question.
'I hope I'm still a good pickpocket...'
"I'm..sneaky?" you held your hands out, showing five separate items. two daggers and three armbands. you cleared your throat, "i mean, my swift movements will be helpful against enemies."
the na'vi you had stolen from gasped in shock as they checked their bodies and realised their belongings were in your hands.
"...here, you can take your things back," you spoke, placing the daggers and armbands on the sand below you.
"toruk makto and his family will stay with us," the olo'eyktan, Tonowari proclaimed, "as well as the young human girl." he gestured towards you. "teach them the way of the water, so they do not have to suffer the shame of being useless."
"thank you," jake and neytiri bowed their heads in respect, sighing with relief.
ronal placed a hand on your shoulder and said, "you have potential, so don't become a burden."
you gave her an assertive nod and replied, "i appreciate your kindness tsahìk, i will be nothing but helpful."
the moment ronal was out of sight, you turned to lo'ak with a playful grin plastered on your face, "that was smooth wasn't it?"
"that was so cool!" you gave him a high-five and giggled playfully.
"neteyam! wasn't y/n so cool," lo'ak asked, quickening his pace to catch up with him.
"youre such a show off" neteyam rolled his eyes "...but that was cool!" neteyam laughed and slung his arms around you and lo'ak.
"your arm is so heavy! get off," you jokingly (though a part of you wasn't lying) whined, however your complaints drowned out by lo'ak's and neteyam's teasing laugh.
'i could get used to this!'

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 | sully siblings x yautja!hybrid reader (platonic)
so sorry this took so long to out out, pls forgive me for these names, I was contemplating whether to js do b/n1 (brother name 1) and b/n2 ╥﹏╥
also, all info on yautja is from google, so pls forgive any inaccuracy
request used: " The Sully kids are in danger and running by a Thanator and by luck a yautja human hybrid reader (still wearing the mask and sutch) sees the Thanator as a worthy hunt and attack it" @kitty-chan33
word count: 832
warnings: ooc, description of violence, use of y/n, gn reader (no female descriptions)
dictionary: nìwin - hurry | olo'eyktan - clan leader | kä tsatseng - go there
"nìwin!" kiri desperately shouted, trying her hardest to scramble away from the thanator trying to kill her and her siblings. what should've been a typical day of exploring the wilderness of pandora had quickly turned into a race for survival. today was a special day, where all of the sully siblings had nothing to do; with their father being olo'eyktan this was an extremely uncommon occurrence.
"kä tsatseng! we can't outrun it for much longer!" neteyam pointed to a fallen tree trunk; the inside was wide enough for them to fit in yet thick enough to be used as shelter. neteyam anxiously crouched by the opening to the tree trunk and waited for his siblings to crawl in.
---------------------------------------------
"y/n, if your mask isn't on in the next 3 seconds..." your father started, his threatening tone seeping through his teeth.
"yeah, seeing your face makes me feel ill," your eldest half-brother, Kyro, teased. you playfully scoffed and picked up a small stone, swiftly throwing it at the back of his head.
your father groaned, turning to his second oldest child, Milo, "please, control your siblings.."
"..mhm," Milo half-heartedly replied, focusing on polishing his wrist blades. the four of you were far ahead of the rest of the hunting party; though you and your elder brothers were 'half-breeds', you didn't let your human characteristics stop you. while being 6 feet tall made you & your brothers the smallest in the pack, it also made you the most agile. you could fit into small(er) places and ambush your opponent, making you and your brothers some of the most honourable hunters.
the roar of a wild animal caused the 4 of you to stop abruptly. "i'll get this one!" you chirped, quickly skipping towards your new challenge.
"what!? but you got the last one!" Kyro groaned, frustrated. Milo sighed and rested his elbow on Kyro's shoulder, watching you disappear into the wilderness.
---------------------------------------------
you slowed down and scanned the area for your prey. your eyes locked onto an adult thanator growling fiercely and clawing at a fallen tree trunk.
'10 feet tall, six long legs and hundreds of sharp teeth...' you analysed the creature, inching closer towards the beast. '..finally, a worthy opponent'. you ran your tongue against your fangs and adjusted your mask before allowing the cloak to conceal your existence. you punched the thanator firmly in the jaw, and it immediately jumped away, frantically looking around for danger.
"...w-what just happened?" lo'ak whispered, looking through one of the many holes the thanator had made in the wood.
"i...i have no idea," neteyam breathed out, his eyes wide open in shock.
the soft gold rays of the setting sun had slightly exposed the outline of your figure, and your opponent ferociously foamed at the mouth, its claws digging deep into the rich soil of pandora. the thanator let out a vicious snarl before attempting to pounce on you. you swiftly dodged and used your leg to kick it harshly in the back.
the sully siblings were frozen in fear as they watched the thanator be brutally beaten by what seemed like...air? as the fight continued, you allowed the cloak to wear off, revealing your human physique. but you were in no danger, as by then, the thanator was already on the brink of death, too weak to even let out a sound. lo'ak cringed as he watched you deliver the final blow, a powerful punch that sent the thanator's body into a distant tree trunk.
"what a shame, it wasn't as strong as i thought," you whined, removing your mask and fixing your hair. you turned to the fallen tree trunk and said, "you know you guys can come out now."
tuk let out a gasp as you exposed their hiding place, oblivious to the fact you had noticed them after the first punch. neteyam was the first to crawl out, one hand placed on the shaft of his dagger while the other held tightly onto tuk's wrist. lo'ak and kiri soon followed suit, standing closely behind their eldest sibling.
"don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you," you chuckled, eyeing the dagger on neteyam's waist.
"..thank you for saving us," kiri thanked, stepping out in front of her siblings and lowering her head slightly in respect.
"yeah..you saved our lives out there," lo'ak scratched behind his neck awkwardly, looking at the floor.
"no worries, i was looking for a fight anyway," you reassured. "I'm guessing you are all siblings?"
"yeah, our last name is sully," neteyam confirmed, reluctantly removing his hand from the handle of his dagger.
"y/n! we're heading back now! hurry up!" you heard Milo call from somewhere in the forest.
"well, i guess I'll see you sullys around," you flashed a grin and waved goodbye to four siblings before heading back towards your family.
"wait! we...uh, didn't catch your name?" lo'ak called out, slightly tilting his head.
"call me y/n!" you shouted in reply,
"...see you later, y/n!" tuk cheered, waving both her arms while smiling widely
you smiled softly, secretly hoping you'd come across the sully siblings again.
if you'd like to request something, please make sure to check out my requests post!

PART 3: "DETERMINED"
after almost a month and a half, you’ve developed a strong friendship with neteyam, lo’ak and spider. your language lessons quickly increased from weekly to at least 4 times a week. every lesson you did everything but learn the language, the two hours were spent making endless jokes and creating chaos around the lab.
today, neteyam was doing some 'eldest duties', as he'd call it, so it was only you, spider and lo'ak. the exact recipe for disaster.
normally you'd agree to any sort of adventure lo'ak would suggest, but this was the first time he'd asked you to leave the lab,
"no." you lightly shook your head and folded your arms
"what'd you mean no?! you literally go outside all the time." lo'ak exclaimed, flailing his arms around
"that's not the point! I've never gone that far from the lab before and you're far from a reliable tour guide." you turn to spider, who was sat on your bed. "you agree with me right?"
"come on y/n! don't be a fnawe'tu" spider teased, lightly pushing your shoulder
"if we get caught I know you'll be in trouble," you said, looking at lo'ak, "but if your father even says a word to me, I think I'll start crying"
"yeah, yeah lets hurry and go!" lo'ak rolled his eyes, grabbed your hand and walked out the door
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
"woah.." you whispered, looking up at the scene in front of you. somehow, you, lo'ak, spider, kiri and tuk (who had blackmailed lo'ak into letting them tag along) had stumbled upon an old battlefield. you stood in shock as you examined a massive abandoned ship. it was covered in a thick layer of vegetation, meaning the battle had taken place at least 10 years ago.
lo'ak was the first to climb onto the ship, lending down his hand to pull you up, while spider and kiri stayed below to look after tuk.
"this is so cool!" lo'ak proclaimed, picking up one of the many weapons scattered across the ship floor.
you continued to walk deeper into the ship, stopping to look at every dead body you passed. you'd heard about a faraway planet on earth but you never really thought about what humans were doing on it, but after seeing so many lifeless bodies you concluded that what happened wasn't good.
"y/n! lets go look somewhere else," lo'ak called, putting down the gun he'd picked up.
"you guys go on ahead, I'll be out in a minute!" you replied,
"you sure?" lo'ak asked, a hint of worry in his voice,
"mhm, hurry and kä already!" you shouted, then you heard lo'ak jump off the ship and start walking off with the rest of the group.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
after five minutes or so, you decided that your exploring had come to an end and made your way off the ship.
"I know I told them to go ahead, but I didn't think they'd leave!" you sighed, looking around in disbelief. "if you're ever lost, just walk straight," you muttered, pushing a leaf the size of a door out of your way. you continued to walk forward, muttering to yourself, as you tried to find your friends or at this point anybody.
a loud scream pulled you from your thoughts, you hid behind a nearby tree and tried to look for the cause of the sound. it felt like your heart had stopped beating when you saw lo'ak, tuk, kiri and spider in the hands of a group of na'vi; no these weren't na'vi they had guns, which could only mean they were human.
you'd heard about humans with na'vi bodies, but seeing them in real life was terrifying.
'I'm not letting them kill my friends.' you thought, not noticing the strong feeling of determination growing in your gut. the tree you hid behind was closest to tuk, so you climbed onto a branch that was directly above the avatar that was holding her.
'my legs better not fail me now..' you positioned yourself on the branch so you'd be able to swing down and hopefully grab tuk. you picked a fruit from the tree and decided you'd smash it in the avatar's face so they'd let go of tuk.
'3..2...1!' you swung down and using all of your arm strength, smashed the fruit directly in the avatar's face successfully making them let go of the youngest sully. you grabbed up tuk by the waist and sat upright on the tree branch.
however, you had no time to rest, as countless bullets were fired at you and tuk. you tightened your grip around tuk and jumped off the tree, running away as fast as you could. once the gunfire ceased, you took cover behind a bush and tried to catch your breath.
you looked at tuk's petrified face, tears streaming down her cheeks, "hey, hey! its okay its just me," you used her thumb to wipe away her tears. "n-nyga..lu fìtsan..tstue" you tried your hardest to comfort her in a familiar language, but you both knew you weren't that advanced yet.
tuk let out a quiet giggle at your poor attempt, "I think you meant, nga lu fìtxan tstew" you chuckled sheepishly, promising to never try to speak a full sentence in na'vi again.
"stay here, if neteyam was doing his normal look-out route, assuming he is coming with your parents, they should fly past here in...around 8 minutes." you stood up and dusted yourself off, failing to notice the deep bullet wound in your bicep.
"wait! your arm-"
you cut tuk off not processing what she was trying to point out, "don't worry, I'm going back for your siblings, but do not move. your parents will be here soon"
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
you hid behind a tree trunk, looking at the scene in front of you. one of the avatars was standing in front of lo'ak, you were too far away to hear what they were saying but you could tell that the conversation didn't seem too friendly. you felt your body tense as you saw a sharp knife pointed to lo'ak's neck, you frantically looked around trying to find anything that could you help the with current situation. you picked up a nearby rock and threw it with all your might, and to your surprise, it knocked the knife straight from the avatar's hand.
however this time you weren't able to get away.
a muscular blue hand tightly grabbed your left arm and roughly pulled you towards them.
the 'leader' avatar turned to you and let out a dry chuckle, "who have we got here?" he made a signal to the avatar holding you , making them kick the back of your legs, knocking you to the ground.
"aren't you an interesting one? you look like a human yet you've got no mask.." using one hand, he gripped your face, turning it side to side as he examined it.
"quaritch! let go of her!" lo'ak shouted, tugging his hands away roughly to try and free himself.
quaritch payed no mind to lo'ak's struggle and knelt down in front of you. "now you could be a good little girl and come with us, or you might lose one of your little friends."
"why would I listen to a grown man who had to find a whole new body, because he was so insecure of his skill level." you spat. the avatar holding you dug their fingers into the wound on your right arm, causing you to cry out in agonising pain.
"nothing...nothing, you do will change the fact that you're a w-" you were cut off by a strong kick in your back forcing your face into the forest floor.
"what a shame. either way, you will be coming with me." quaritch scoffed, clutching your hair tugging your head upwards to make eye contact.
an abrupt shrill sound caught lo'ak and kiri's attention, you'd never met their parents but you could tell by the look of relief that covered their faces mean that help has finally arrived.
not even a minute later, an arrow shot through the head of the avatar holding kiri. you used the opportunity to break free from capture and run mindlessly into the wilderness of pandora.
you kept looking behind you, trying to make sure nobody was following you. suddenly, you ran straight into a tall, blue figure.
"..ow! oh, neteyam!" you took a step back, smiling cheerfully at your friend
"y/n! your bleeding," neteyam took hold of your injured arm, examining the wound.
"..." you paused letting the remaining adrenaline vanish from your body. "I've been shot." your mouth hung wide open, looking at the scarlet liquid ooze from your arm. "I'VE BEEN SHOT!? WHAT DO I DO?" you let out a petrified squeal, holding out your arm in the air.
"mawey 'eylan, mawey" neteyam hushed, "get on my ikran, I'll get you some help." neteyam lifted you onto his ikran and got on behind you, wrapping an arm around your waist to keep you secure.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
"neteyam! what took you so long?" jake asked, turning to his eldest son
"I found y/n in the forest, she was shot," neteyam demounted his ikran then gently lowered you down.
"..uh I'm sorry for the...inconvenience..sir," you grunted, trying your hardest to ignore the throbbing pain in your arm.
jake looked at you in disbelief before letting out a stressed sigh, rubbing his temples, "..it's..it's fine kid. kiri, take y/n back to the lab. and take tuk with you"
kiri scoffed, looking her father up and down. it was clear she did not want to move.
"now!" jake yelled, not wanting to deal with her antics any longer.
"follow me." kiri sighed, rolling her eyes as she walked off. "i'm not gonna walk all the way back to the lab, so I'll take you to the tsahìk"
"does the tsahìk even treat humans?" you asked hesitantly
"I'll guess we'll have to find out" kiri dismissed, taking hold of your uninjured arm pulling you along
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
you sat in front of the tsahìk letting out quiet painful groans as a healing paste was applied to your wound.
"I wouldn't normally do this for a human..but since you got hurt saving my family, I'll let you off," Mo'at mumbled
"y/n was so cool! she swung upside down like 'whoosh!' and beat up the bad guy!" tuk exclaimed, doing her best to act out the previous events
"I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.." you muttered embarrassed by tuk's praise
"be careful with that arm from now on. it should heal completely in a couple of weeks," the tsahìk said, putting away her medicinal paste and bandages.
"..irayo" you thanked, standing up and preparing to leave
"kea tìkin, it's my job after all" Mo'at reassured, smiling gently at you
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
it was now the next day, you knew neteyam and lo'ak were probably grounded for life, but when they didn't show up to your 'language' lesson you couldn't help but frown.
"flo, please, please can I go out?" you begged, shaking her shoulders desperately
"the last time I let you do that you almost got yourself killed." florence reminded, her eyes not moving from her computer screen,
"you told me 'not socialising is bad for my mental health', but now you're trying to keep me from socialising! I won't do anything dangerous, please!"
florence paused for a second, before taking a deep breath and saying, "fine, but you need to be back in 2 hours."
"okay!" you chirped, skipping out of the lab doors
"I'm gonna regret that..." florence groaned,
neteyam's ears perked up upon hearing a knock on his front door. when he got up to answer it, he was surprised to see you standing there
"y/n? are you supposed to be here?"
"neteyam! hii! are your parents home?" you asked, trying to peer over his shoulder to see inside
"no my mother went out with tuk and kiri and my dad left to go over the lab 10 minutes ago," neteyam answered, still confused as to why you even knew where he lived
"great! can I come in?"

THIS IS A STORY (NOT A ONESHOT) SO IT'LL HAVE MULTIPLE PARTS

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6
TW: ARGUMENT
PART 2: " DANCER " 1.9k words
you sat on your desk chair, curled up in a ball mumbling angry complaints about your current situation
“how could they do this to me..? why would I want to get closer to my potential killer!?”
you fell silent as you heard a knock on your bedroom door, reluctantly getting up you slowly opened the door and saw a young human boy, who you often saw in the lab, standing in the doorway.
‘wait! maybe I won’t have to face them after all!’ you thought, your eyes lighting up with the hope that you wouldn’t be spending a painfully awkward 2 hours with the blue creatures Jake’s sons as you had dreaded.
“…can we.. uhh come in?”
oh great..we
clearly, you weren’t as fortunate as you’d hoped
“..sure.” you said, a tinge of disappointment in your voice , “two of you will have to sit on my bed, I haven’t got enough desk space” you returned to your desk chair sitting snug up against the wall, awkwardly looking at the table.
there was only one spare seat, so naturally the human boy took a seat in front of you, while Neteyam and Lo’ak sat next to each other on your bed.
“..so let’s start with basic introductions first, im sure you’ve..uhh seen me around, but my name is Spider” the human boy awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, turning towards his two friends, silently begging them to introduce themselves.
“Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan,” he looked up noticing your confusion, “…Neteyam.”
letting out a tired sigh, “I’m Lo’ak”
“i’m y/n,” you said, your gaze never leaving sight of your desk in front of you
the first 45 minutes consisted of intense stares from Lo’ak and Neteyam while Spider was trying to teach you how to pronounce, “my name is y/n”, however, it was clear that you weren’t gonna get very far any time soon
“no, you have to make like an rrrr sound”
“…how am I supposed to make an r..r-rrr sound!?”
the conversation in the room grew quiet, spider rubbing his temples (trying to convince himself that he was not a bad teacher and that you were just slow)
“who really are you..?” Lo’ak spoke up, looking at you up and down . it was now clear that they had never really stopped suspecting you. you paused, taking a deep breath, you were starting to get annoyed with the number of times you'd been asked that question.
“…who do you think I am?”
this answer drew everyone’s attention, the atmosphere quickly became tense, however, you remained in complete eye contact with Lo’ak awaiting an answer.
“..a spy” he paused, “I think you're a spy, sent from whatever dumb planet you came from , helping with whatever the sky people here are trying to do.”
you let out a low chuckle; now you were annoyed, “you must think you’re really smart, sorry to break it to you but if your tiny blue brain still can’t process what I’ve told you a thousand times, I’m not sure you’re fit to be asking all these questions”
you stood up from your seat, walking towards Lo’ak before Neteyam held out his arm protectively in front of his brother. Normally at the mere sight of Neteyam, you’d run away in fear, but the fact that the two of them couldn’t even last two hours without giving you dirty looks was extremely irritating.
“calm down, you sound quite rich considering you were flailing around in the forest a couple of days ago.” Neteyam scoffed, moving to take a step forward so he was now towering over you
“wait..are you kidding me!?” your eyebrows furrowed together and your mouth agape in shock, “what were you expecting me to do?” this time you take a step closer, now forcing Neteyam to shuffle back. “I appear in this random place, stripped away from everything I ever knew. piecing together whatever little survival info I had trying to find help, only to be attacked by..by wild ape things and you expect me to be calm?!”
“hey! you don’t get to insult my friends like that,” Spider was now standing, roughly pushing your shoulder to get you’re attention, “what did you want him to do? not protect his clan, his family? I understand you're stressed but-”
“you..understand..? being forgotten, as a baby, does not mean you can relate to me” all the stress and anxiety had finally caught up with you, you weren’t expecting an apology but they could at least be mindful of what they were saying
“if his family is so important, he should be able to feel even the slightest bit of sympathy” you turned to Neteyam, “try to imagine..being kidnapped, taken by force, and waking up in an unknown land, your family nowhere to be seen. you’re not familiar with anyone so ‘naturally’ you get attacked, then you get bombarded by thousands of questions, being examined hundreds of times. After all that, you overhear that you may not be able to see your family again.” you scoffed, “so, forgive me if I am being dramatic, I hope my ability to be calm won’t affect you too much.”
everyone looked at you in shock, sure they could see you were stressed but they did not expect you to burst out in anger like that. you walked over to your wardrobe and took out a black box from the top cupboard, walking towards the door you said,
“we have around 30 minutes left, if you need me I’ll be behind the lab. once the time is up, get out.” your voice was laced with venom, you were blinded by intense rage and stress that you refused to spend any longer around them.
you walked out of your bedroom and told the working scientists you were going for a walk, leaving before they could question you any further.
the three boys were frozen, they didn’t know what to say. Neteyam felt a small pain in his heart when he heard you say that you might not be able to see your family ever again, as he knows that without his family, he has no purpose. Lo’ak was also confused, he didn’t know how to feel. he wasn’t in the wrong for suspecting you, but he started to regret giving you nothing but judgmental stares for the past hour and a half.
“uhm.. do we just sit here and wait for 30 minutes…?” Spider awkwardly turned to look at his friends, this was the first time they’d been in such a…unique situation.
“no, let's just leave now. I’ll tell dad she wanted to end it early.” Neteyam dusted himself off and walked out the bedroom, Lo’ak and Spider following suit. they waved goodbye to the scientists, and quickly walked out of the lab.
------ ---- ------
you stormed out of the lab, your nails digging into the sides of the black box. once you had found a nice clear area behind the lab, you knelt down on the grass and opened the box. inside were 3 things, all of which you had stolen borrowed from other scientists. the first thing was a walkman, you were confused as to why somebody had something that old in their possession but you needed some form of music so you took it anyway. the last two things were dance equipment; pointe shoes & toe pads, you were a dance student back on earth so taking them was a no-brainer.
after tying the ribbons on your pointe shoes, you adjust your sweatpants and slip on the walkman pressing a button to play whatever music tape was left inside.
as the music flooded your ears you allowed your body to melt into the rhythm of the music, your feelings drifting away as you moved. you smiled and pretended as if you were performing on stage, acting out the very story you were dancing to. as the song reached its climax you softly hummed the melody, turning faster yet obtaining your elegance. this was a routine you had done thousands of times before yet it was still the one that you enjoyed the most.
------ ---- ------
Lo'ak's ears twitched as he came to an abrupt stop.
"what?" Neteyam stopped walking and turned to look at his younger brother
"listen," Lo'ak whispered turning towards a certain direction of the forest. Giving nobody a chance to respond, he started to walk closer to where he heard the sound coming from.
"look," Spider pointed in your direction
"what's she doing?" Lo'ak asked, looking directly at your pointe shoes
"I think she's..dancing?" Spider replied. he and Lo'ak were now crouching behind a bush, trying to get a better look at you without making it obvious that they're watching you. Neteyam on the other hand, stood next to a tree, mesmerised at the way you moved. how effortlessly you turned, while humming a soft tune.
"is she balancing on her toes..!? is that a human thing?" Lo'ak turned to Spider n nudged his side repeatedly, trying to make sure he wasn't seeing things
"how would I know!!? I don't know everything about earth!" Spider groaned, attempting to stop his friend from bruising his ribs
after hearing a loud noise, you immediately stopped dancing and took off the walkman, turning in the direction of the sound. you spotted two blue figures; one in a bush and one shamelessly standing by a tree. you moved your gaze slightly to the right and saw small a head of blonde dreadlocks.
you chuckled, "so much for a spy, huh?" you sat down on the grass and started to untie your pointe shoes, while Spider and Lo'ak stood up from their 'hiding' spot
"what were you doing?" Spider asked, looking at your pointe shoes
"aren't you a human?" you picked up your pointe shoes and walked towards him, "I was dancing, the style is called ballet. these are pointe shoes , I wear them to...make my dancing look more graceful?" you passed Spider one of your pointe shoes and gave Lo'ak the other, before turning around to put the walkman back into the black box.
"uhh...I'm gonna need those back" you coughed awkwardly, pushing forward the black box and gesturing for them to put your pointe shoes in the box. after closing the lid on the box, you slowly looked at the three of them your mind tracing back to the heated conversation earlier.
"sorry-"
"about earlier..-" you started,.
Lo'ak looked up in embarrassment and pointed toward you, signalling for you to speak first
"I didn't mean to blow up at you guys earlier," you turned to Neteyam, "I was wrong to blame you like that... I guess I just don't know what to do anymore" you took a step back and cleared your throat, trying to remember a short Na'vi phrases you had been taught,
"Oe..tsap'..palute s..see?"
you looked up, a deep blush immediately rushing up your cheeks as you saw the confusion on their faces
"do you mean..Oe tsap'alute si?" Neteyam looked at you in amusement, while Lo'ak and Spider burst out into laughter
"you...you know what I meant!" you held the box closer to your face, trying to hide your humiliated face, "look..I'm sorry okay!"
"sorry for being...rude," Lo'ak sheepishly said, still chuckling from your poor attempt at speaking the Na'vi language
you smiled and waved goodbye to the trio, "see you guys next week!" they waved goodbye and headed deeper into the forest
maybe...just maybe they weren't as bad as you thought

TW: KIDNAPPING
PART 1: ❝ PANIC ❞ 1.7k words
"this doesn't look familiar..." you muttered, frantically wiping your phone screen dry from the pouring rain, trying to find out where in the world you were. but no matter how hard you swiped and tapped your phone was frozen still , completely ruined from the rain. still in denial , you continued trying to get your phone to cooperate with you , failing to notice the white van pulling up towards you.
after feeling a light splash of the cold rain splash onto your legs, you look up making direct eye contact with a blonde-haired man wearing a white lab coat with the letters 'RDA' sewn onto the left side.
"oh my ! sorry to bother you, but do you know the fastest way to get to xxx station?" you ask, a bit loudly as he still hasn't rolled down the window.
the back door of the van slides open, a fairly muscly man dressed in a black tank top and matching cargo pants steps outside. strolling over towards you, "what'd you need , darling?"
feeling slightly intimidated, you take a step back realising just how dangerous this situation is, "oh, uhm...don't worry about it..thank you for your help though"
"now now, where do you think you're off to?" the muscly man chuckles, roughly grabbing your arm. he leaned in so close you could smell all the smoke and alcohol he consumed.
"let go of me !" you attempt to pull yourself away , but unfortunately his grip only tightened.
panicking, you started to scream and kick anywhere you could , but he managed to wrap one of his arms around you and drag you into the van. you took a last glimpse of the dimly lit street, your phone laying on the wet concrete , broken. the doors to the van slammed shut and sped off to an unknown location. you felt a damp cloth being stuffed into your mouth and in no time everything went black.
༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༻
TW: operation?, syringes
your eyelids still too heavy to open , you felt restraints tied around your hands and legs forcing you to lie as stiff as a pencil. your senses seemed to be dulled but you managed to make out a conversation between 2 people who stood on either side of you
"boss..you got fired from the RDA years ago...do you even think she's gonna make it through the transportation?"
"quiet! just because we don't have all the fancy equipment does not mean this project is impossible! now pass me the scalpel."
'...scalpel? are they operating on me!?'
your body immediately tensed, your tried to force your eyes open but they wouldn't budge. so you resulted to jerking your body in any direction possible.
"SHE'S MOVING! HURRY AND PASS ME THE SYRINGE!"
you felt a tiny prick in your arm and once again, everything faded into complete darkness.
༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༻
your eyes shot open, you sat up looking around you. you were in a forest, filled to the brim with exotic colourful plants. the trees towered over you , the trunk was at least 50ft tall.
"where am i...?" you muttered. as beautiful as this place was it definitely was not home. you brushed your hair out of your face and stood up, you've got to find a way out of here. after some scavenging, you managed to create a makeshift spear, consisting of a sharp stone that was tied to a sturdy stick with a couple of hair ties.
"anyone!? hello..!! can somebody please help me!?" you started to walk mindlessly deeper into the forest shouting for what you hoped, would be help.
"is anyone there!? pleas-" you were cut off by an extremely tall blue creature landing in front of you, aiming a dagger that would definitely do more damage than your spear directly to your throat.
"w-wait..what are you..." you stumbled back unable to finish your sentence gripping onto your spear for dear life.
you heard the blue creature make some sort of screaming sound, alerting 6 other 8ft tall blue creatures to land on all sides of you. you were surrounded.
hyperventilating, you swung your makeshift spear around, trying to create an opening however they only moved closer. a slim blue fist collided with your left cheek, the force throwing you to the ground. the pain you felt was unbearable , and the stinging sensation in your cheek caused tears to roll down your face. you were picked up by the front of your shirt, and one of the creatures held its dagger against your neck. at this point you were frozen still, were you gonna die..?
unexpectedly, you heard a loud whistle which must've startled whoever whatever was holding you as it let go of your shirt, dropping you to the floor.
as soon as you made contact with the floor, you scrambled over to your 'spear' and held it protectively. the 7 blue creatures that had ambushed you earlier stood in a line listening to a taller blue creature. this 'taller one' looked more mature, and was probably the leader of whatever these things were.
when all 8 of the 8ft+ creatures turned in your direction, you started swinging your spear at the air screaming with every movement you made.
"don't! ugh..come! any! closer!!"
as the tallest one started to approach you, the adrenaline vanished along with any other courage you had. so you threw the spear and took off into a sprint.
it certainly wasn't easy running in a forest where you're the size of an ant so you only made it about 15 meters before you tripped.
you looked up to see all 8 of those creatures directly in front of you, the 7 you saw before looking especially angry.
"w-wait! I'm sorry, p-please...don't kill me!" hot, salty tears raced down your face, as you desperately tried to crawl away.
"stop." the tallest one was now crouched in front of you, "what's your name ,and who sent you?" he asked, his amber eyes staring into your soul.
"...you speak english?" you breathed out, feeling relieved that you weren't as alone as you thought
"answer the question" he repeated, the 7 other creatures reaching for their weapons
"okay..okay ! just don't kill me" you took a deep breath,
"m..my name is, y/n l/n and I wasn't sent by anybody...I was ki..kidnapped by some crazy people and ended up here.." you tried your hardest to speak clearly, but you couldn't help but hiccup every now and then.
"do you know where you are?"
"no..I don't even know... what in the world you are..!" your eyes welled up with tears as you finally grasped your reality. you were stranded, in a foreign land, with people who want to kill you.
"get up. if you won't tell me the truth, I'll force it out of you." the leader stood up, pulling your arm to force you onto your feet.
༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༺ ༻✧༻༻✧༻
awkwardly you sat on a lab table, surrounded by scientists that would not stop taking tests or examining you.
you sighed, "how many times do I have to tell you! my name is y/n l/n, I turn 15 this year and I have NO IDEA how I got here."
"I know this must be stressful, but if you're a human you shouldn't be able to breathe the air here," a female scientist, Florence, explained, rubbing her temples hoping to ease the stress.
you heard a knock at the door, immediately knowing who it was you slipped off the table and hid behind a wall, "DO. NOT. LET. HIM. IN!"
"y/n dear, you cannot keep avoiding Jake, you've been here for a good 3 days now!" Florence groaned, walking over to the door.
"you cannot tell me I'm on PANDORA, the planet that humankind tried to destroy, and expect me not to fear for my life!" you retorted. despite your fear, Florence still unlocked the door and let the visitors inside,
"y/n! come say hi, Jake and his sons have come to check on you!" Florence sweetly called, yet the only thing you heard from the message was that the two people who had previously threatened to kill you, were in the building. Florence chuckled as she heard your footsteps quickly scurry off into your bedroom followed by the loud slam and locking of the door.
"don't mind her, she is still a bit panicky due to the current circumstances." Florence sighed, moving out of the way to let Jake and Neteyam Sully (two familiar faces), followed by Jake's younger son; Lo'ak.
"I understand. have you learned anything about her?..why she's able to breathe without a mask?" Jake asked, putting on a recom breather as he walked further into the lab.
"we managed to get an x-ray of her lungs," Florence said, picking up a remote and turning on a projected image of your lungs. " it looks like a filter of some sort has been placed in the middle of her trachea. as of now we can only guess what it may do , as trying to look at it surgically would put her life in danger."
the room fell into an awkward silence, Florence rested her hand on her chin trying to think of a way to get you to socialise with the Na'vi. "ah!" she exclaimed, "Jake, I don't think we're gonna be getting y/n home any time soon, and your sons are around her age so why don't they teach her the language? it'll help her loosen up around you !"
Jake sighed, "I mean I don't see why not." he turned to his two sons, "I want the two of you here tomorrow 3 hours after dawn. remember to be patient, learning a new language isn't easy"
"yes sir." they both answered, now wishing they never came to the lab in the first place.
"right it's settled! I'll see you two tomorrow!"
