“you were talking in your sleep.” ( noelle & yunhwa )
Yunhwa stiffens.
He knows he talks in his sleep. The problem is that when he talks in his sleep, it's because he's having a nightmare, and the nightmares only come about with incidents of high stress. Such as the fuck up he'd caused with work the day before.
He doesn't look at Noelle. Instead, he thinks back to the dream he'd forced himself awake from - well, the nightmare, actually. What had it been about? He's been awake just long enough that the details are becoming fuzzy, but then he grasps the image that's lingering at the back of his mind.
Darkness, and the only thing breaking it up is the gleam of green eyes - a tiger's eyes in the dark. They aren't his eyes, but he recognizes them, all the same. They're his mother's. She's prowling before him; behind her sits a line of tigers - his ancestors, both his mother's and his father's combined, sitting there to judge him for all of his mistakes.
Yunhwa feels the sting of hot shame in his cheeks. He can imagine what he was saying - no, eomma, don't leave me like this, don't go, I'm sorry, I'll be good, I promise, I can do better. Something to that affect. Something absolutely pathetic.
Clearing his throat, Yunhwa forces a small smile in Noelle's direction. "Sorry about that. I'm sure I embarrassed myself. I, uh, I'll try to not let that happen again."
He turns away before she can breach the subject further, getting up to get dressed. If they don't talk about it, then it didn't actually happen.

“how long have i been asleep?” ( manami & jinsun )
Jinsun looks down when he hears Manami's voice.
He stretches, sets his phone aside, and reaches over to brush her hair from her face. "A few hours."
She's not gonna like that answer, he knows. He can already hear her whining - the whole point of a hang out is to hang out, not sleep. But Jinsun wasn't going to be the one to wake her. The day Manami had before coming over was insane, but he knows it's the norm for her.
Which is why it was no surprise to him when she got comfortable on one end of the couch and promptly fell asleep.
And it wasn't like he'd stayed up, either. His job is exhausting more often than not, and seeing Manami so relaxed in his home, feeling that comfortable with him, allowed Jinsun to relax as well. He'd popped the foot rest on the other end of the couch and dozed on and off, this time awake when Manami finally stirred.
Jinsun gives Manami a small smile as she sits up. "It's cool," he assures her. "We can still order some food. You can stay over, or I can drive you home. Whatever you want. But you clearly needed the sleep."

“i never noticed your eyes were this pretty.” ( chaerim & cinnamon)
Cinnamon cannot help the way he blushes.
He isn't used to people looking at him. Not like this. In his youth, he was gangly, long limbed, long faced, not really considered much. The other kids in their community were paired up easily enough and, what was worse, were excited to spend the rest of their lives together.
By the time his family had escaped into South Korea, Cinnamon had filled out substantially, but romance was the last thing on his mind - until he met Chaerim.
Cinnamon flexes his hands with a nervous laugh. He thinks his eyes are ordinary, just another shade of brown. But Chaerim seems to disagree, and who is Cinnamon to tell her otherwise.
He clears his throat and forces himself to look her in the eye. "Thank you. You - your eyes are - so pretty. Way pretty."
Cinnamon forces himself to look away and grimaces. Great, way to go. He can't even give a compliment correctly without sounding stupid.

15) our muses aren’t together yet but one of them insists on staying the night so they won’t be alone. bonus points if its to protect them. ( seri & yunho )
To anyone else in his position, it would be annoying to be coddled. Especially by a human that doesn't know how to wield any weapons.
To Yunho, Seri's insistence on staying to protect him warms his heart.
It isn't really him she's here to protect, they both know that. Yunho's good with his hands, even better with a knife and a gun, but his ultimate weapons are his fangs and his claws.
No, it's Yunhwa that needs to be looked after. He's still growing into his fangs and claws, and from where he sits, Yunho can see the faint stripes on his son's skin. He's curled up in Seri's arms, completely unaware that they could be ambushed at any moment.
The only place that Yunhwa is happier to be is in Yunho's arms. His second favorite place to be is in Seri's. It makes Yunho's chest ache in a way he can't ignore, but doesn't want to acknowledge yet.
Yunho stands. He needs to go out to prowl - to check the perimeter in a way only a tiger can. As he unbuttons his shirt, he stops by the couch and leans over to kiss Yunhwa's head.
On his way up, his eyes meet Seri's. If he had it his way, she'd be his by now. But she's not ready, which means he can't act the way he wants to. Instead, he leans forward to kiss the top of her head.
A small, silent thanks for looking after his cub. Another step over the line she's trying so hard to hold in place.

Beomseok let out a loud sigh, arms crossed, clearly annoyed. It was a minor issue, but it still frustrated him that a flight attendant had accidentally thrown away his earphones.
“You gave them to me just two days ago!” he grumbled, flopping onto the couch, first lying on his stomach across Stormy’s lap before rolling over to rest his head there instead. That’s why he was making such a fuss—those earphones weren’t just any pair.
But as he gazed up at the other man, his irritation softened.
“I didn’t even thank you properly,” he murmured, gently pulling Stormy down for a quick peck on the lips. “Thank you… and I’m sorry I lost them already.” His voice was barely above a whisper, their lips nearly brushing again.
Admittedly, Stormy was extremely annoyed with the flight attendant's careless behavior. He would absolutely be reporting that little incident once the flight was over, but there wasn't anything else to be done at this moment.
Stormy cooed softly, accepting Beomseok's kiss. "It wasn't your fault," he assured him. He reached up to stroke his cheek, letting his thumb run along Beomseok's jaw with just enough pressure. "Really, angel, it's okay. I can replace the head phones."
The look Stormy shot the flight attendant as they came by was borderline venomous. "And this time, I'll make sure they can't be taken from you."

Lily wasn’t officially part of Orion’s team, but she was always backstage—carefully accessorizing his stage outfits with her jewelry and supporting him in every show. He had told her more than once how much he wanted her there, and truthfully, she loved watching him perform.
So there she was, waiting for him as he stepped backstage after the final show of the season. She stood in front of him with a bright smile, hands tucked behind her back, gazing up at the taller figure before her.
“Congratulations,” she said softly, rising onto her tiptoes to press a quick kiss to his lips. “You were incredible.”
The only thing better than performing for Orion was sex itself. The energy coursing through him would last him for weeks, which would keep his fuel tank full for a long, long time.
It meant that he wouldn't have to rely on Lily for the energy she could provide - which meant that he could enjoy their intimacy for the special moment that it was.
And speaking of Lily - there she was, waiting for him as he skipped down the steps off the stage. Orion grinned, wide and bright, his eyes crinkling up at the corners. "Hi, beautiful," he greeted. "Fancy seeing you here."
Lily leaned forward and Orion met her eagerly, hands settling carefully on her cheeks as he kissed her back. Her skin was warm under his, her lips as enticing as ever. Already he couldn't wait to get his hands on her.
"Thanks for being here." He was careful still as he brushed her hair back from her face. "You're coming home with me, right? 'Cause if not, I'm coming home with you."

Liuxian’s sleep schedule had always been a mess. On good days, he managed a little over six hours; on bad ones, he barely got five. And at his worst, he could go days without sleeping at all. Exhaustion was a familiar state—he worked through his bouts of insomnia, pushing himself past the limit.
But lately, Saemi had been checking in on him, her quiet presence easing the high-functioning anxiety that usually kept him wired.
When he arrived home, he found her resting on the couch. Without a second thought, mind blank from fatigue, he lay down on top of her, resting his head on her stomach. The warmth, the steady rise and fall of her breath—he barely registered any of it before sleep claimed him instantly.

It took her a bit, but Saemi had learned how to read Liuxian's tells very well by now. Her heightened senses allowed her to pick up on the spike in his anxiety, which never quite went away, but had periods of regulation.
Lately, Liuxian had been in a period of discontent, which is what's kept Saemi at his place. She'd brought everything she would need for work with her, with plenty of clothes. When needed, she could step out to find someone to feed on.
Not that Liuxian needs to know that.
When he walked through the door, Saemi sat up, a smile on her face. She could smell Liuxian's exhaustion, which worried her, but she knew by now that all she could do was soothe him through the worst of it. So when he joined her, she welcomed him into her lap without hesitation.
He was going to drop off soon, she knew it. So she kept her voice soft and low, murmuring inconsequential things as she stroked his hair. Soon enough, Liuxian's breathing changed, indicating that he was asleep.
Saemi sighed softly. She wished there was more that she could do to help Liuxian heal, but for now, as long as this worked, she would keep doing it.

What a lovely afternoon. The sun was setting, the chill in the air lingering but not as biting as the past few days—just cold enough to make staying inside the café the perfect choice for dessert.
Ian wasn’t picky; whatever Danbi chose would be fine. Just one dessert, though—they had eaten plenty throughout the day. The small table brought them close, a comfortable intimacy between them. Ian picked up a fork, scooping a piece of cheesecake to feed her, but just as she opened her mouth, he pulled it away at the last second, leaning in to capture her lips in a soft, playful kiss.
When he pulled back, a mischievous giggle escaped him.

The fork coming to her made her lean over the table. Danbi opened her mouth - only to gasp indignantly instead as Ian pulled the bite away from her.
How mean. How absolutely cruel. His giggle filled the space between them, adding to the insult.
God, she loved him so much.
Danbi sat back with a huff. "If you're going to eat it all, then I'm gonna order another one!" She wouldn't, they both knew she wouldn't, Ian had laid the rule out firmly. Instead, she snatched the plate away from the center of the table before Ian could stick the fork in the slice once more.
Oh, she'd had plenty so far. In fact, the slice of cheesecake was more crust than anything else, but she had a point to make. Her laughter bubbled out as she pretended to hunch over the plate. They were drawing stares, but Danbi didn't care. The smile on Ian's face made being a fool worth it all.

Aiden loosened his tie, slipping it off and tossing it onto the couch, where his suit jacket had already been discarded. As he unbuttoned his white shirt, his gaze fell on River, who sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor, still fully dressed and visibly exhausted.

With a small smile, Aiden stepped closer, standing in front of him. Without hesitation, River wrapped his arms around Aiden’s waist, resting his head against his bare chest. Aiden ran his fingers through River’s hair, a soothing gesture, before tilting his chin up, cupping his cheeks, and pressing a firm kiss to his lips.
These dinners they had to go to were exhausting.
River had no problem being social. He could talk to anyone and everyone, had the ability to find any topic under the sun to keep the conversation going.
But it got hard to do when he felt more and more out of place with each person he spoke to.
The truth was - Aiden moved in different circles. River hadn't bothered to go further than performing live and uploading his songs on social media. His security came from the aquarium, and he loved working there too much to back off of it to go further.
It was hard not to feel intimidated by these important people Aiden knew and worked with.
But then Aiden was within reach and River was helpless to do anything but pull him in closer, lock his long arms around his waist. He sighed softly as Aiden pushed his fingers through his hair. It immediately relaxed his shoulders, moved some of that tension out of his muscles.
Aiden's hands felt so good on his skin. Always have. River tipped his head up, a touch eagerly accepted. He kissed Aiden back, squeezing his waist, and sighed softly into his mouth.
So maybe he didn't exactly fit in. That was okay. As long as Aiden still wanted him, it would all be okay.
