It's so disappointing tbh. They didn't give Lucas character justice at all. He was the one who solve almost all the problems in the story. He's was their at Athanasia's side since the very beginning to help her with her mana. He's the one who give the world tree to Claude and Athanasia and because of that they're going to live a long life. Some people even got mad at Lucas when it took him too long to solve the problem about Aeternitas. He's done at lot of things but they didn't even give him a proper ending. I know that the main character of the story is Claude and Athanasia but Lucas is one of the main characters too just after them but in the ending it feels like he's just one of the side characters. It feels like he's just being used a magic shuttle when things go wrong. I feel like his character in the manhwa was to solve all the conflicts and after that they were just going to set him aside. His not even my fav character but I feel sad for him. I feel like they just taken him for granted and didn't appreciate him for what he did especially for Athanasia. You can hate this man all you want but without him the story is going to take the lovely princess route once again. He's one of the reason why the story changed. And that's a fact. You can deny that all you want and lie to yourself idc.

And yes we all know that Lucas is the canon ml, even though they didn't really get closure at the end of the main story if we're going to based it on the recent chapters in chapter 121, Athy already said that her feelings for Lucas has changed and she's already overly conscious of him now. So there's definitely something going on between them two but it wasn't developed. I know Spoon said that she's going to focus on the familial relationship but she also announced that she's going to focused on romance too. We already got the familial ending at chapter 114. So if it started with romance I think it should end with a romance too. Even though we already knew the ml they should have given as a proper closure about the romance. Because when they announced that they're going to focused on romance people expected that finally we're going to have the closure on romance but yeah they decided to end it this way so of course people will be disappointed.

What was even the point?

Like, Lucas is the canon ML? Y'all giving the male lead literal dust even when the man moved the plot forward? Name one thing Athy did relevant to the plot that was not collecting simps.

Lucas did genuinely everything? He healed Athy at the start. Stopped Claude from murdering her dog. Regularly absorbing her mana. Introduce her to IzEKIEL. Giving up the World Tree Branch. Saving the Empire? Saving Claude? He knows her first life and everything that happened to Athy.

The webtoon and manhwa is ROMANCE, Fantasy. Where was the romance? I didn't even see Claude and Diana kissing. No side couples either. No proper Lily and Felix interaction. The only real relationship was Ana and his brother's fiance that he stole?

People who post about the Claudiana/Lucathy parallelism doesn't mean they sees them as Claudiana 2.0. Some moments of Lucathy just reminds them of Claudiana and post about the parallelism about the two ships but is not the reason why they ship Lucathy. Like that part where Athy is fixing Lucas brooch and they have matching outfits it reminded them of that one panel where Diana is fixing Claude's outfit and I don't see anything wrong with that. I've seen a lot of Athykiel shippers who also post about how Athykiel reminds them of Claudiana because of the way Athanasia reflects on Ijekiels eyes. So yeah it's not just Lucathy shippers who post about parallelism but Athykiel shippers too so don't hate on Lucathy shippers because of that when Athykiel shippers are doing the same thing too.

Kind of a hot take?

I hate the fact that lucathy is basically seen as claudiana 2.0. I’m not a huge fan of lucathy but I think it’s kind of annoying that it’s often compared to with claudiana by a lot of people in the fandom.

I think I started to really dislike the comparison after someone had left a nasty comment on my original fic regarding the shipping war between lucathy and athykiel. And because I ship athykiel, this person left a comment about how,.. ehem.

This person basically ships Athy with Lucas because Athy represents Diana and Lucas represents Claude. And they are saying that Lucas is strong and bright enough to become Athy’s lover but Ijekiel is weak and shy so he is not the perfect person for Athy.

This… infuriated me. Every now and then I am reminded of this person’s… ridiculous remark even though it’s from last year.
