January 27-

So today is my honor choir concert at the Fox theater. To be honest I’m more excited than I thought I would be. Yes, i know, it’s the fox theater and it’s a big accomplishment for my school and others, but it just barley occurred to me. When I sat down and saw the stage lit, with red lights surrounding, my god is it breathtaking. I’m forever grateful to have been apart of Honor choir even if the rehearsals were lengthy and bickering; I’d do it again in a breath. Also, being with other people who take choir seriously and want to perform well feels amazing. I’m gleaming with joy for this night.

January 11-

Today wasn’t the most eventful but this week has been something. I tried out for Moana a play my schools doing (my friend bribed me with Barnes and nobles lol). I’ve been trying to stay on top of my grades especially since it’s a new semester. I want to pass my AP classes. I also want to end this year with better grades than I did first semester (I failed math and maybe chem haven’t checked). What I’m trying to get at is I want to study. I want to be knowledgeable. I want to speak with intelligence. I want to work hard for my dream college. I want a future. I want to experience it all. College and graduating has been on my mind a lot more. I’ve realized how badly I want to go to college. My dream is to study in NYC or Washington hopefully!! I haven’t really talked to my family about how far I want to study away from home, but it’s my life. It’s my journey it’s what I want to experience one day if I can. I want to study English literature, which I know I could easily study here in California but I want oh so badly to study in a big city. My AP Euro teacher actually broadened my mind to college. I’ve always just thought about college as, “what’s the best school for the major I want to take?,” which is plainly just simple. She told me I need to consider what college life I want. Do I want a public or private school? Maybe I work better in smaller classes or larger ones. Do I want a school where they have big events and there’s frat houses and sororities? I haven’t mapped it out all yet but I have an idea. Summing up I want to go to college. I’ve realized now how privileged and grateful I am to be able to go to school. I don’t want to waste that. I will study and work hard to be able to study my major somewhere i believe I most belong at.
