the strangest thing to me about the BSD fandom is the fact that the vast majority of people in it are dazai fans, while also consistently assuming the absolute worst of him, disregarding the circumstances around his actions and giving him no grace or consideration of his situation whatsoever.

there's no doubt dazai is a bad person in many ways. he did plenty of unjustifiable, inexcusable things. he's pathologically manipulative with a totally skewed moral compass, most of which was undoubtedly brought on by his upbringing in the mafia. but at the same time, i see such a huge number of people taking that and somehow ending up with - and vehemently defending - this idea that he's a remorseless, indifferent, innately cruel person by nature?

are we forgetting this is the same dazai who was forced to false-witness a murder at fourteen years old? the same dazai who already wracked up numerous suicide attempts barely out of his pre-teens?the same dazai who was referred to by everyone around him as a 'demon' at fifteen years old? the same dazai consistently described as having grief-filled, empty expressions and detached, vacant reactions to practically everything when he was so young? the same dazai that oda described as "a child crying in the dark, alone, left to fend for himself with a hole in his heart as large as the world itself"?

that dazai is an indifferent, heartless, innately psychopathic person? really? i'm not convinced.

padmé was so used to wearing queen amidala’s clothes, which were so intricate they were almost painful, and in doing so metaphorically putting away who she was to be that leader for her people. she was used to people caring about that first and foremost (except for her family, who urged her to have her own life outside of serving).

so it’s beautiful to me that anakin loves padmé’s casual looks more because he thinks queen amidala’s outfits concealed padmé and how beautiful she is on her own. and the fact this is one of the aspects of anakin’s love that draws padmé towards him— she feels safe to be who she is, not just queen or senator amidala

I just realized that out of all Care’s love interests parents, Esther is the only one who never made a move to hurt Caroline. Like, the only thing we got was her acknowledging that Klaus was into her, but did she not notice the look he had on his face when she said that he didn’t care about caroline being at the decade dance. He was obviously lying!

The fact that Klaus, the strongest creature to exist in TVDU was obsessed over Caroline, a baby vampire that couldn’t stand him at all and told him right in his face that he’s a loser and she’s beyond his lame and cheesy pickup lines is why i will never shut up about them. He chases after her right after they have a little spat and almost gets hit by a car?? like a million year old vampire like him cared so much about her he paid zero mind to his surroundings?? like no you don’t understand he wasn’t distracted by her, he was CONSUMED.

There is something so precious to me that I adore about Klaroline and it will always make me ship them more than any other pairing involving Klaus.

The fact that Caroline Forbes is just Caroline Forbes.

Sometimes I see the argument that « Klaus’ interest in Caroline is foolish and came out of nowhere ».

But? That’s precisely what I love about them. The fact that he didn’t have any reason to fall for her in the first place. After all, she’s just a high school girl in a small town and a regular vampire he found himself drawn to because of her essence and not because of anything about her that could benefit him in some way.

This proves how his love for her was genuine and how it just can’t be matched. Ever.

She wasn’t from any important lineage. She wasn’t a powerful witch, not a doppelgänger, not some girl with important relatives he could firstly use at his own benefit. Yet, he always thought of her as stronger than anyone else.

She was just Caroline Forbes. A girl who had no choice but to fight for herself and found her strength by her own means. He loved her entirely for that and for nothing else. 🤍
