Nyx couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her sons antics. It may have been hereditary to use their magic in so called ‘defense’ – how many children had she injured herself in her own childhood, after all? “I do love you, Helios, which is why I’m angry. I… understand it is very tempting to cause those around you to suffer for making you suffer…” She sighs. “…but you must understand that it’s a vicious cycle. Will they be kind to you now that they see what you can do to them? No, they will fear you… and fear breeds hate.”

The last thing Nyx wanted was her son to be as hated as she was.

             ′     hm. well, is it REALLY bad to be hated, mommy ?   ′   the tears dry almost INSTANTANEOUSLY, another facade to get his mother to soften up. although they were similar in terms of POWERFUL MAGIC, they certainly had different viewpoints.    ′     i only hurt people that are unkind to me in the first place. why should i care if some SCUM hates me ? so they can send their little piggies after me ?   ′

             people were so INEXPLICABLY weak. the young man that teased helios was not even one who was doing anything more productive, simply picking on each passerby. it would be much easier if TRASH was DISPOSED OF, after all. helios hums to continue his explanation towards his mother,    ′     goooods. they don’t care if i’m risking my life for theirs. that’s war, isn’t it ? ‘respect your soldiers’ ? he did nothing but show how UNTHANKFUL he was for my help ! cowards who can’t even acknowledge those who care must certainly be punished.    ′

            ′     oh, and i’d never kill anyone in this army, ‘less they REALLY made me angry. y’know, like if they decided to hurt you or daddy. all i do is poke fun, i’m really no harm ~   ′

        ′     hey ! don’t screw with me !   ′   with that command, helios quite THREATENINGLY begins to prepare a hex. perhaps the other was only joking, but it was clear that helios was fairly serious in his endeavors: having somebody mess up with his work was incredibly terrible, especially when he was this close ! he just needed the meat that the other was going to use for their sandwich, but ...

         ′     i had my eyes on that first, y’know, so you might as well just give it to me before i hex your eyeballs off and eat them for breakfast.   ′

        ′     oh, sorry about that . . .   ′   his voice is genuine as his eyebrow furrows alongside his apology. he had not meant to run into the other so suddenly. perhaps he was in too large of a rush to check up on the status of his next adventure ! it had simply been far too long since he had taken the opportunity to travel, especially due to his excitement to try &. search out for his missing sister . . .

       ′     i’m glad i was able to catch you,   ′   his buttery voice continues.    ′     it wouldn’t have been very good if you fell.   ′

         ′     why am i the one getting reprimanded ?   ′   tears, beginning the form in the sockets of the young boy’s eyes, were soon to escape out of its edges. why, it wasn’t HIS fault that boy decided to call him shortstack &. made helios angry ! it was only right that he DESERVED great hexing, but helios wasn’t sure if he would survive getting his head buried 5 feet under the ground ... whatever. he would’ve gotten out eventually. but when he had approached his mother to tell her of this wonderful accomplishment, she only scolded him !
