a play on fairytale romances, they are basically lesbian princess x knight; the knight saves the princess, then the princess saves the knight, and they fall in love in about a day while experiencing the beauty of earth. only made for one purpose, they denied that fate and found something entirely new in each other, a perfect sapphire who wasn't perfect at all and a discardable ruby who was special after all. also, they have the record for first onscreen gay kiss and wedding in western animation!

Sig and Izumi are the power couple of all time. They literally fell in love with eachother within 30 seconds of meeting. In the manga Wolfwood sees straight through Vash's fake smile and compliments him on his real one. In Stampede someone asks Vash how he knows Wolfwood isn't a killer and he responds "I can see it in his eyes." Like who SAYS that? Who DOES that? YOU JUST MET THIS MAN?? 🏳️‍🌈🤨

Ariel fell in love with the human the first time she saw him. She was completely enamored with him, probably equal parts because he was human and he was handsome. Eric also fell in love at first sight, once when she rescued him and again when she was taken to the castle, but he couldn't believe the mute girl was the one who saved him so he ignored his second love at first sight attentions. I'm not sure how long Ariel was mooning over him but it was only like 4 days after she saved him (and he fell in love) that they were officially together. And it worked because they have a daughter and seem very happy in the sequal.

...I mean, it is one of the most well known love at first sight stories in the west. Personally my favorite is the Leo and Claire version; "Romeo + Juliet" cuz of the fish tank and the music. They meet at a party, fall in love, sneak some privacy, get married, fall to family hate, get banished, fake a death, commit suicide, commit suicide, all in like three days. Say what you will about why they fall in love, but they do and it was an instant connection. (i say one analysis post about the language devices Shakespeare used help emphasize their connection and feelings)

the third line that came out of klavier's mouth was "i've never felt like that with a man before" and it was directed at apollo. they got weird and flirty so incredibly fast it's unbelievable. the amount of times klavier compliments apollo in court rivals the height of empire state building measured in centimeters, and they are in court like... immediately after meeting each other. apollo isn't better, he is both jealous of klavier's success, bitter about it and ready to "pull him out of the darkness" the third time they meet, whatever that even MEANS. yk what the worst part is??? i don't even like this ship that much. i don't care for them. but i saw this poll and i knew i had to submit them because this whole thing is so hard not to admit and see, they are insufferable and i hate them!!!

After Zack was kidnapped and imprisoned, Aerith wrote him a total of 89 letters, hoping to hear from him, and throughout the time after he broke out, Zack used his memories of Aerith to fuel him forward. When Zack was finally caught and killed, Aerith could feel his soul returning to the Planet and was one of the only people to remember him and mourn him. Even in death, the two of them were together to cheer on their friends.
