pathetic isn’t really a word I‘d use for colin bridgerton. simon rather dying than marrying daphne was pathetic. anthony going through with marrying edwina until SHE mustered the courage to call everything off was pathetic.

colin contemplating his feelings, calling out his male acquaintances for their chauvinism, seeking advice from his mother and then immediately taking action and putting himself out there without even knowing if his feelings are reciprocated is the complete opposite of pathetic. that requires a whole lot of bravery.

What are the other 2 of your top 3 WTF moments of the press tour? (other than the forehead rubbing in Dublin)

Luke's reaction to Nic mentioning Ryan Gosling and her having to calm him because his whole energy shifted. This all happened on morning television, like control yourself Newton.

When Nic mentions that someone had messaged her team asking what she smelled like and Luke asks "not even perfume just like actual scent" like tf??? she then clarifies and he said "they should've just asked me" but she quickly calls him out and he denies even knowing what kind of perfume she wears. It was the way he said no tho that made it seem like he was lying.

The forehead rub as previously mentioned

When Nic is looking into Luke T's eyes and you hear Luke N say "they look pretty blue from here" because "from here" was completely unnecessary to say but he was making a point. He then proceeds to be irritated even through to the next question.

How they didn't hear cut during the carriage scene. None of their versions of events, because there are multiple, make any sense.

L breaks up with J. He's distraught. Goes on a hot boy summer, meets A. She fills a void & he seems happy again, his family are thrilled that he's feeling better & they get on well with A cos she's just a regular, nice person (stay with me). So he has this attachment, like an emotional rebound & feels safe etc.

Press tour happens. L & N are like shit we love each other #polin #reallife. But do we love each other or are we just talking about having fake sex with each other to strangers constantly.

Something that really strikes me about the way Colin Bridgerton loves is the intensity of it. Previous romantic heroes in Bridgerton have fought against their love, have even voiced that they would wish it away if they could (and none of this is bad. All drama is fun drama in Bridgerton in my book.) Colin, however, embraces every aspect of what loving Penelope entails practically from the moment he becomes aware of the depth of his feelings, including the pain.

He tells her he does not want to give up his feelings, even when they are a source of pain for him. Which, by the by, is why I think he marries her, despite him not knowing what sort of marriage they will even have after the Lady Whistledown reveal.

He loves Penelope with a genuinely blinding intensity, as is evidenced by his insecurities about her returning his love he had through most of the season. He's been engaged to her less than a week and he's already talking about how much she is the only thing that matters.

I don't really know where I'm going with this it's just a jumble of thoughts I had.

Is it true that the polin wedding breakfast dance wasn't scripted and that they came up with it during filming? and is it true that Nic & everyone didn't want Luke to see Nic as Pen in her wedding dress to get his honest reaction?

Yeah both things are true and confirmed by the director & the showrunner themselves

Even in the scene of Colin seeing Pen dancing with Debling in ep3, Colin's/Luke's reaction was him watching Nicola & Sam dancing alone, there weren't any other actors or extras with them, they wanted to get more raw reaction out of Luke for the close up shots then they filmed the version we all saw in the episode itself with all the actors and extras around

Colin Bridgerton spent most of season three thinking his love for Penelope was unrequited on his end, and if not unrequited than she didn’t love him nearly as much as he loved her. And that is one of the most romantic and most heartbreaking aspects of the season for me. It’s Colin waiting and trying to figure out what Penelope gets out of their relationship and not understand that all she wants is her love to be returned.

i’m sorry but it’s insane that in the span of 24 hours, penelope:

• nearly got proposed to

• had the intended proposal rudely AND PUBLICLY interrupted by her bestie (and crush but whatever)

•got ghosted by her situationship/future possible husband at a BALL (public humiliation IS penelope’s middle name, after all)

•leaves ball in a state of embarrassment (poor thing)

•gets CHASED TF DOWN by COLIN BRIDGERTON. ON FOOT, MIND YOU.

•colin all but forces himself inside her carriage (in the most gentlemanly way possible)

•her long-time-childhood-crush basically says “hey um i can’t stop thinking about u and i like u can u tell me u like me back PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PL”

•gets fingerbanged to high heavens

•gets an ACTUAL proposal from the man that isn’t her suitor or her friend but is a secret THIRD thing

•announces said engagement to her situationship’s family and proceeds to get called a fake bitch by her future sister-in-law

•writes a damn whistledown column AND publishes it BEFORE THE SUN COMES UP

•her mom yells at her and essentially accuses her of being slutty and sneaky

•colin “im so in love and im totally normal about it” bridgerton says “oh btw i got us a house haha and my servants will be coming later with all my stuff that i packed up last night lol im so normal and casual about this and i definitely didn’t stay up all night twirling my hair and giggling over the fact that im marrying my bestie”

•mr. fingerbang announces he is in love w her

•mr. fingerbang seduces her and they have beautiful, intimate, wonderful couch sex

•girly pop gets PREGNANT

•guilt is eating her alive bc she is like “fuckkkkk im whistledown and i HAVE TO TELL COLIN he deserves complete and utter honesty” and then colin basically is like “no time for talking! time to make ourselves at home!” essentially leaving penelope on the lounge like “😀”

•is shoved into a carriage (this time with the curtains drawn, just in case if colin needs to play a lil penelope piano obvs) and gets the news that the queen has started a Lady Whistedown woman hunt and her fiancé goes “omg slay yasss fuck lady whistledown”

•colin then proceeds to be like “pookie u wanted to tell me something earlier??? what was it???” and pen is just like fuck he HATES whistedown… “nothing!!!” and colin being young and dumb and in love he is like “ok :D <3”

•penelope then WRITES AND DISTRIBUTES ANOTHER WHISTLEDOWN COLUMN

Moral of the story is: Penelope Featherington is the strongest woman ever and i’m not surprised that she ended up fainting at her engagement party bc she needed a NAP

absolutely don't think about the fact that Pen didn't write to Colin likely not just because she was very mad at what he said, but also because now that she had heard him laugh at the idea of courting her so openly, she was probably petrified at the thought that he had been responding to her letters out of politeness!! and not out of a real desire to write and communicate with her, and we know one thing Penelope hates is to be pitied!!!! There's also set up for this idea with Prudence and Portia expressing disbelief at her writing him in ep 1 of s2, "He wouldn't waste his ink on you", Prudence says, and Pen can only respond with "He's my friend!" The fact that that is her only defense against the idea of his indifference to her, her belief in his respect and care for her. Without that reassurance that he does want to write her after the Featherington ball, she probably remembers what her family said about their correspondence and likely thinks that they were right, that he pities her. She cares so much about manners AND connections between people, she of course didn't want to be that tackless girl who puts a man in an uncomfortable position because she can't take a hint, so she just stopped!She probably didn't even think he would notice oh my god!!!! There are hints that there are beginnings of hope in her during s2, at the races they seem so familiar and close, referencing their letters and how they are up to date on each other's lives, her about his more than anyone else. Knowing that later, Pen thinks this perceived closeness is simply politeness, indulgence, and nothing else. During the confrontation at the four seasons ball she states resolutely to him that she knows she embarrasses him. This is not true at all, but she had fully created a version of him in her head that didn' want to be associated with her, and how could you write to someone you know is capable at laughing at your expense? About courting nonetheless!! what were their letters other than a form of courting!! and hearing him rebuke that must be like a dagger to the heart for her. She cares so much about manners AND connections between people, she of course didn't want to be that tackless girl who puts a man in an uncomfortable position because she can't take a hint, so she just stopped!She probably didn't even think he would notice oh my god!!!! anyway LETTERS PLOT REIGN SUPREME
