I think this is the best post for me to do first. Last year around this time, I volunteered with a very good friend of mine’s organization, Only Love Foundation. This was one of the best decisions I have done, especially right after graduating from Binghamton University. The goal of our organization is to promote, enhance, and improve education that kids have access to in third world countries. After witnessing the conditions that many of these children live in, it makes you realize how much we take for granted back home in NY. It makes you realize, how cruel humans can be to one another, that some children do not have the bare necessities of everyday life. Meanwhile back at home, we get angry because over the smallest things. These children with the bare minimum were some of the happiest and loving kids I have met in my life. Is it materialistic things that make us ungrateful? Or is it witnessing others on social media? At the end of the day, our problems are incomparable to the things that others endure in other parts of the world. Although, we may not realize it we have a lot to be thankful for everyday that we wake up.
With love,
Louis Palomo
