oh, so when SPIDER-MAN can sense a bug moving on the wall across the room, doesn’t have the fine motor control to get the right amount of toothpaste, and can feel each individual drop of sweat down his neck, it’s a “super power,” but for me it’s a “sensory processing disorder” yeah okay sounds fake doc I think you just don’t want me to stop you from committing crimes, how about THAT

So neurodivergent people have the spoon thing. This concept of good spoon vs bad spoon. But this doesn't only apply to silverware. This can apply to anything. Blankets. Plates. Pens. Anything.

And when a neurodivergent is mad at someone and being passive-aggressive they'll give that person "the bad spoon".

So for me it's pencils. So if I'm mad at someone but I have to let them borrow a pencil, I'll lend them the shitty pencils.

But neurotypical people don't have this same concept. I them a pencil is just a pencil. Like they obviously know one is nicer than the other, but a pencil is just a pencil. They're just happy to write and I'm giggling to myself thinking about how gross it feels when that led hits paper.

So to me I'm being passive-aggressive but to them I'm being super helpful because I let them borrow a pencil.

And I'm bringing this up because that's how neurotypical communication comes off to neurodivergent people. You think you have me the "Oh gods, please shut up." Look. And to me a look is just a look. So you think you're sending me some kind of message, but to me I'm like "Oh shit, they looked at me. They must like what I'm saying."

And I bring this up because I want neurotypical people to realize how incomprehensible they sound sometimes. They get all mad because a neurodivergent can't read their social cues. That'd be like me getting mad because you didn't realize I'm mad at you and lent you the shitty pencil.

Hey beans. Lets have a chat for a minute!

Today fucking sucked aye? Willow was removed from D+ today and its left a bad taste in our mouths. I know you guys are hurting, feel let down, unheard, and you have every right to feel that way because I feel the same too. But alas, we have been a given a gift today, I just dont think people have noticed it.

Today, Disney essentially went ahead and said "Yeah nah we don't know what Willow is" and is trying their best to deny the shows existence. So fuck it, it belongs to us now! It belongs to every girl, gay and they who saw themselves in Kit, it belongs to every person whos ever felt misunderstood like Airk, and it belongs to the folks who day after day, show up and stand up for what's right, like Elora. Lets use this, lets make this our own, create our incredible fan-art, explore the world of Andowyne that does not yet exist, and most importantly we share our love and our kindness and our talent with each other. I've seen all that you guys have created and im in awe of every single one of you.

Our goofy little show might no longer be on D+, and this is going to hurt for a while. So, lets take that first step towards feeling better and let go of all the hurt we feel now, and look forward to the bright futures of everyone involved in the show. Ill go first.

Willow being removed hurts for one reason, to me anyway. I've not publicly shared any of this, but one or two of you might already know. When I was 6 months old, my parents divorced. I used to believe they ended on good terms, me and my sister got equal time with our mum and with our dad, and I not once ever saw or heard them fight. When I was 6, my father passed away. I was too young to understand at the time, fuck i even asked "Whats in the box?" as they lowered my father into the ground. When I was 12, my step-father was offered a job in another state, which left my mum raising 3 girls on her own for about 3? years. At the time, I wondered why my step dad chose a job over me and my sisters, and it often left me feeling frustrated and thinking I wasnt loved. Episode 4 of Willow I think it was, I found out my grandpa (bio dads side but his stepdad) was dying with only a few months left. I dont talk much to that side of my family, things got messy for a while and arguments occurred frequently. In all the drama of this news, I found out that my parents didnt have the nice divorce I used to believe. And this fucking shattered my world. I found myself relating more and more to characters of Willow, Kit with her parental issues and fear of abandonment the most. Having Willow taken away feels exactly the same as having my dads taken away from me.

But, I don't linger on that. Take time to accept the cards we have been dealt, smile at the time we had, and let this be an opportunity to grow. I hear you, I understand you and I will always be here for you.

Honestly, it's so wild tumblr isn't obsessed with Willow. With all the talk of love for old campy scifi fantasies like Xena, Farscape, Stargate, Buffy, the list goes on. You'd think tumblr would love a show that honors the old campy style while merging it with a more modern rebellious style. It's a show that has scenes with rock music that watch like a youtube scene compliation. It feels like fanfiction. But in a good way. In the way that fanfic writers know how to choose exciting scenes and weave epic romances and character arcs with action. It's a show with lesbians whose love language is sword fighting. A rogueish himbo who is loyal and witty and there's a whole scene where he plays sexy in a waterfall and he likes to get tied up by his girlfriend. The saddest nerdiest emo bard with a heart of gold. And, a female chosen-one, almost like a firey fanon Zelda - learns magic but is most passionate about cooking. Like... I could go on. The plot is fun and exciting. Reminds me of playing DnD with my friends. The cast is fun and weird and queer and make playlists for their characters and like our fanart.

Like, its just wild to me. But anyways, if you read this and are intrigued and havnt seen Willow yet. Please do. Im reaching out my hand, asking you to trust me. Its so good.
