Fleer Mr. Bones and Brach's Dem Bones
Putting these two in the same post since they're so similar.
Tumblr media

Mr. Bones (available from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s) was a brand of chalky, tangy candy pieces shaped like, well, bones. They came in coffin-shaped containers and could be assembled into a full skeleton, though completing the "puzzle" often required saving pieces from multiple containers.

Onto our next treat, Dem Bones, which I was actually around to enjoy. These came out in 1993, around the tail end of Mr. Bones' availability. Unlike its counterpart, Dem Bones' pieces did not interlock, but the shapes and variety of colors still made them a fun seasonal treat. Plus, I'd definitely feel less bad about eating these.

Unfortunately, these too were discontinued, this time in the mid-2000s.
What sets these two brands of candy apart from the types of bone-shaped candy that remain available today is the variety of shapes they came in—stuff like rib cages, hands, and feet in addition to the typical skulls and femurs.

Fun fact: According to this Candyblog.net entry, the Strawberries and Creme and Mixed Berries and Creme flavors also appeared in the Fruit and Creme packages.

According to my friend who's roommates with our other friend (who's an avid gamer AND collection enthusiast), he's seen enough of these boxes for a lifetime. 🤣
Kellogg’s Minecraft Creeper Crunch Cereal
Food
Type of Funny Food: Tie-In Product
Introduced: August 2020
Location: Supermarkets
Tumblr media
From 2020 to 2022, Kellogg’s offered a tie-in Minecraft cereal, Creeper Crunch. Named after its most famous in-game enemy, the creeper, the cinnamon flavored oat cereal came with appropriately square “creeper bit” mini marshmallows colored in different shades of green. Luckily for the consumer, the cereal didn’t have the same explosive properties of its mean, green namesake.
The packaging also included a code that interested gamers could use to redeem one of 16 wearable in-game items. Some items seemed harder to find than others, encouraging multiple purchases of the product.

Oh I definitely remember seeing these on shelves. Always skipped them in favor of the fruity popsicles, though.

Anyone remember these?

Girl Scout S'mores (ABC Bakers Edition)
Tumblr media
(Image credit: Anna Monette Roberts, POPSUGAR.com)
The Girl Scouts debuted two varieties of s'mores-themed cookies in 2017, in honor of their 100th anniversary. Sadly, the chocolate-covered versions didn't last, being sold for the last time in 2021 (during the pandemic, which is no wonder I've never heard about it until now). They are succeeded by their sandwich-cookie counterparts.
I've only tried the sandwich cookies, personally. For those who've tried both: which one did you prefer?
