“I guess.” Owen mimicked the way Cubby shrugged then chuckled, he was amused at this entire encounter. “So, what’s your name then, kid?”

“My name is Theo but you can call me Cubby.” Cubby thought about it for a second, “Actually only call me Cubby. Or even Cub. And your’s?” Maybe he knew it but he wasn’t going to admit he did.

                 “did you just ‘dude’ me?” nevermind that.” bonnie waves away the comment with her hand. she’s not even able to hide the full grin that spreads across her face at this point. “okay, okay. maybe not the same but the style is totally similar. maybe shrek looks up to han solo. what if han solo was his idol?” 

“do you really think star wars and shrek could be in the same universe? i mean it’s not like it couldn’t be... shrek is mostly fairy tales but star wars was a book sooo maybe they could be..?”

                  “look, i love han as much as the next person but you can’t deny that it’s true. they’ve both got the long sleeve shirt, the vest, the belt, and the boots. the facts just don’t lie with this kinda stuff.” slight shrug of shoulders and bonnie’s doing her best not to grin.

“bonnie, dude, the pants are so much different. and so is the top. shrek is basically wearing a dress with leggings. while han is wearing a normal top and cargo pants. not to mention.. one vest is way better than the other.”

“He came to watch a race and when I won, he wanted to meet me, known him since.” Owen pushed his sunglasses up on top of his head now. “Well, let me know when you do.”

“hmph. that’s cool, i guess.” cubby said with a shrug, acting unphased by the thought, “i mean if you’re into racing or whatever.”

“He was really funny in that Game Plan movie!” he defended himself, hands up in surrender. “Oh… That makes sense, I guess. I just always interpret candy to be a good thing, not something bad.”

“game plan was a good movie, huh?” cub was still amazed that michael didn’t know much before that. “yeah, but i guess candy is a good thing but i mean-- it can be like both y’know.. either way.”

                   “you’re totally going to hate me for what i’m about to say next but just know that i’m not wrong. are you ready?” a slight raise of brow and bonnie draws in a breath. a grin forms on lips before words come tumbling out. “shrek and han solo dress the same and you know i’m right so don’t even try to argue.”

cubby looked up from what he is doing, jaw dropped slightly. he couldn’t believe the words said. “oh you were right. i’m totally hating you right now. my sweet sweet han doesn’t deserve that kind of ridiculous comment. he dresses much better than a smock and vest.”

“Look, it’s a deviation from my own reality,” she said thinking of Mike, who was built like a twig. “But, um, excuse me, does your mother know you’re out here talking about baby oiled pecs?” she teased.

“i get that, i get that. sometimes you just like to pretend. but, you always go back to your reality because it’s almost always better.” cubby sighed, “no she doesn’t. but i don’t think she would mind as much.”

“I don’t know… I still think the whole ‘You can’t see me’ is a better one,” she shrugged, as if she knew much about wrestling. She’d only seen it in passing, never actively paying attention to it. “The whole thing is just super cheesy, if you think about it. Who needs a tagline? It’s not a comedy club.”

cubby looked over at the girl astonished, “i can’t believe you��d say this.” he gasped then sat up, “well, never mind i take that back. i can believe you would say this, benson. i mean you don’t appreciate the good things in life and good entertainment.”

“Dwayne is pretty cool.” Owen nodded in agreement. “I’m sure he’ll be honored to hear all this.” He laughed slightly. 

cub kind of looked over at the guy, realizing who he was, “oh so you know him or something?” but cubby wasn’t gonna let owen know he knew who he was, “i mean, if you meet him you could always let him know a cool kid from carthay said hey.”

her mouth quickly formed an ‘o’ and she giggled at the explanation. “ i see. who knew there was so much that went into it ! ” it was a bit silly really, but wasn’t wrestling ? she stuck her tongue out at cubby, playful in her antics. “ maybe…so, think you can do better ? you’re a fan, so i know you had to have practiced it before !! ”

cub nodded, he thought of wrestling as one of the greatest forms of entertainment, well it used to be. it really went down hill after the early two-thousands in his humble opinion. “oh you want me to do the brow thing?” he said with a chuckle, “i mean i am a fan but i can’t say i’ve perfected it.” but he wasn’t one to give it a go.. and when he did. it didn’t go so well. “maybe i need some practice to.”

there were few occasions tinka watched movies: when she was at a sleepover with the girls, the off chance she was ever invited to any lost boys get together, and when her parents wanted to have ‘ family time. ’ so, she wasn’t too familiar with the rock. “ an actor that just goes around calling people candy-asses? and everyone is okay with that? ”

“tink, to be honest.. this just made me not want to be your friend.” cubby sighed, “no, he was acting-- yes, but he used to be a wrestler and like- he was tough and would call people that... it was his thing before they would fight. please don’t make me pull up a video.”
