She was amazed to discover that when he was saying, 'As you wish,' what he meant was, 'I love you.'

I'm kind of obsessed with how Patrick Stewart is Not gay. He's literally straight he just acts like that. Ian McKellen is gay so it's easy to think logically that so is Patrick Stewart but he's not. Unparalleled. Don't call yourself an ally unless you kiss your gay friends on the mouth

thinking about rhaegar’s rubies and lyanna’s roses. yes, haunting the narrative and all that, but for violent death to be remembered specifically in terms of these highly stylized, romantic images—which are then rendered down and deconstructed. “the rose petals spilling from her palm, dead and black.” “men of both armies scrabbled in the swirling waters for rubies knocked free of his armor.” the fixation of ned, robert, viserys, daenerys, joncon etc. on these figures at the expense of their present.
something about forgetting or never even knowing their faces but remembering the symbol. something about hungry ghosts that swallow up what they leave behind. “in my dreams, i kill him every night.” red rubies and dead petals, red and black, fire and blood, ice and fire. how fire scorches black what it burns, and ice leaves fingers black and dead. jon, taking the black, will forget what it’s like to be warm. his wolf is a ghost with red eyes who never howls. arya and mycah go looking for rhaegar’s rubies and we know how that story ends. remembering the dead not in their totality but by the unspeaking things they leave behind… and then the ugliness bleeds through these things, despite it all.
anyway, not particularly coherent but thought it worth jotting down.
