Childe

Childe goes for the classic fake out, further proving that you’ll never catch a break. He’ll seemingly be out like a light, an arm loosely thrown over your waist, snoring softly into the pillow. You can even say his name a few times and he won’t budge. However, the second you start to wriggle out of his hold, it turns ironclad. The air is all but knocked out of your lungs from the strength behind his grip. He’ll then whisper in this husky, low voice, where do you think you’re going? So much for that. He occasionally makes jokes that he might need to buy some chains if you keep getting rowdy at night. At least, you think they’re jokes because he laughs at them, but you get a sense he might be serious. He favors resting his chin atop your head and holding you flush against his chest from that point onward. Good luck trying to get out of his hold, it’s not going to happen. 

Diluc

In true repressed Victorian ‘gentleman’ fashion, he doesn’t dare sleep in the same bed as you unless you specifically request it. Even then, he has his reservations. He was already struggling to maintain a veneer of propriety when you were clothed in layers from head to toe, now he’s got to stay strong when you’re wearing flimsy night clothes…? Of course, he’ll never reveal this as the reason behind his hesitation. Since you’re got him wrapped around your little finger, if you keep on insisting, he’ll give in eventually. Having him around is honestly not a bad idea in the winter, he radiates warmth. He’s so determined to stay on his side of the bed that you wonder if he thinks the world itself would end should he cross the invisible divide. You’ll very rarely wake up to him in the mornings since he’s such a busy man, but when you do, you’ll discover his hand had found yours sometime during the night. His face will turn the same shade as his hair when he learns of this. 

Kaeya

One might think the Calvary Captain runs low on energy when a day full of his schemes comes to its conclusion, but it’s quite the opposite. He thinks that this makes for a great time to catch up with you. He’ll slide under the covers and regale you with the shenanigans he’s witnessed lately. What’s annoying about it is that he’s such a naturally gifted storyteller, so you can’t help but get invested, no matter how hard you try to project apathy. You’ve learned more about the people of Mondstadt during his subjugation than you have living there for years. He’ll get to the juiciest part of a story and then leave you hanging unless you cuddle with him. If you have trouble sleeping, he’s unexpectedly good at soothing the issue, he’ll play with your hair and whisper in that deep voice of his until you’re out for the night. It’s probably the closest thing to tenderness without any ulterior motive that you’ll ever get from him. 

Zhongli

Zhongli’s more inclined to work around your preferences than the others, to an extent. He feels it’s advantageous for you to feel in charge when it comes to smaller details, so you’re more willing to overlook the control he has over the rest of your life. If you’re willing to sleep in the same bed as him, he makes no disruptive movements and prioritizes letting you rest up well for the day ahead. Sleep isn’t a must for Zhongli, yet to fully experience the life of a mortal, he gives it his best shot. There’s nothing he adores more than if you tend to talk or grumble in your sleep. While you’re conscious, there’s a filter in place that prevents you from saying anything regrettable; a feature not found when slumber reigns. He most definitely will try talking to you in a gentle whisper to coax out any secrets your lips would be otherwise sealed to. 

Albedo

Albedo is another who doesn’t really need sleep, but he enjoys all the bonding possibilities that come with sleeping side by side. He’s good at telling when you’re in REM and always asks you about your dreams the next morning, finding the information pivotal to better understanding you. He can’t help but think about how less lonely you make his otherwise secluded lifestyle. Most of his night consists of him pondering different matters relating to you, from what he should make for breakfast to envisioning your future. If he’s noticed you aren’t a light sleeper, he may feel bold enough to kiss your shoulder or clavicle since you can’t object. He’s able to gain a better understanding of your anatomy from the hours he spends committing your appearance to memory. It’s no wonder that his drawings of you are so lifelike down to the last detail — he can practically model you in his mind in anyway he sees fit. 

Xiao

You have to passionately plead your case to convince him to quote, ‘stop being weird’, end quote. If it weren’t for your interference, he’d see no issue with standing in the corner and staring at you all night. Xiao still doesn’t understand why you’re so huffy about his preference, but if it means giving you one less thing to complain about, then he guesses he can go along with it. Since adepti don’t really need sleep in the same way mortals do, he never thought he’d see the appeal in lying down and doing nothing for eight or so hours, but you’re starting to make him curious. You’ll be readjusting one night when you unexpectedly meet resistance akin to slamming into a brick wall. As it turns out, it’s Xiao’s chest, and he’s just been chilling there as if it was the most normal thing ever. Getting back to sleep after that scare is a tricky endeavor. He’ll quietly reassure that he isn’t doing anything depraved, which is almost stranger in a way. He really is just sitting there for hours and observing. It makes your skin crawl. 

Scaramouche

He actually sputtered in offense when you questioned what he was doing the first time his arms snaked around your waist. His grip was way too tight to be comfortable, for one, and his head was so close to your neck that his hair kept tickling the exposed skin. He grumbled about how ‘overdramatic’ you were despite the fact your lungs were actually crying out for air. This is what couples do, is it not? He’s mostly just embarrassed that his desperation for skin-to-skin contact came out so obvious. Proceeds to tone it down a touch by at least allowing your respiratory system to carry on uninhibited, generous lover that he is. Fortunately for you, he naturally relaxes his hold as the night progresses, and tends to curl into a fetal position. You can expect to hear gentle whimpers of your name that he violently denies should you ever bring it to his attention come morning. He’ll similarly combust on the spot if you refer to what he’s doing as ‘cuddling.’ No, this isn’t cuddling, it’s… being in close contact with another! Are you such a dullard that you can’t tell the difference? (He will die on this hill).

Kazuha

You grow increasingly convinced by the day that beneath his soft-spoken and gentle exterior, there lies a true mastermind. It’s suspicious how, despite his many survival skills, your campfire always seems to dwindle when the moon is high in the sky. How convenient is that? Then you have no choice but to snuggle up against him in your tent for warmth. You have no idea how he does it and he’ll innocently deny any accusations you send his way. Kazuha allows for some space between you if you demand it, but starts inching closer when he can tell you’ve fallen asleep by your breathing. No one can rival his stealthiness. He forces himself to stay awake no matter how exhausted he may be so he can admire your features. Sometimes, he’ll brush his fingers over the various grooves of your face, the touch so featherlight that you’ll remain none the wiser. He kinda considers this time as the best outlet to get his creepy urges out. For this reason, he’s always in an extra good mood when it starts to get dark out. You’d be right in thinking you probably don’t want to know why.

His voice was laced with venom, no longer having its warmth. Instead of leaving you with a stomach filled with butterflies, it left you with a wrenching lump in your throat threatening to crawl its way out.

"Aw why such a glum expression? Are you not relieved? You've found me after all." His eyes glared down at you as he took slow steps towards you. This...

This was not the man you loved.

Tears spilled from your eyes as you flicked your gaze back to the Abyss mages and the Abyss Herald standing behind him. Your gut churned as you felt all of your words get stuck in your throat.

"You're so quiet. Speak up now, Sweetheart." He got close enough to cup your cheek as he leaned closer.

Up close you could see the anguish in his eyes, the pain, and the regret. The conflict and the frustration were all too visible. Whatever facade he had put up was slowly crumbling down as you watched his eyes scan your features.

"I'm sorry, My Love." He whispered, making sure no one around could hear except you. His eyes softened as he gently wiped the tears away from your cheeks.

"But, this is for the best." He leaned his head against yours, relishing in your warmth for the very last time. He would miss this.

He would miss you.

"Thank you, for giving me something to fight for." He pressed a kiss onto your temple.

As he leaned away you attempted to grip onto his uniform to stop him, but he had already made his way up to the upside-down statue. The purple glow brightening as he made his way closer and turned back around, his eyes now glaring daggers.

But you knew he was faking it.

"Get them out of my sight, whether they live or die is not my concern." He instructed and the Abyss creatures all turned to you, the Traveller and Paimon.

You all readied to fight as you wiped away your tears, ignoring the concerned looks from the blonde traveler next to you.

You watched Kaeya slowly disappear, turning back around only to shoot you a pained smile as a tear slipped down his cheek.

And then he was gone.

I agree with u, well review-bombing is not the best but if fans didnt do it mhy will not acknowledge or answer their requests too. Fans have been criticizing mhy for a long time but because of the review-bombing a lot ppl notice it now too so therefore, it works. And they way mhy did in the disc server when they ban whoever mention anniv is just so childish for a company.

I got these and more asks regarding the post from last night so I wanted to elaborate and explain some things, and also make another point about the anniversary thing and clarify for anyone confused. After this I promise I'll shut up about this lol sorry

1) yeah please do NOT come after the VAs for any of this, not even the actual developer side either is at fault. This is largely an issue with the PR and marketing and higher up people. It's really awful that some people are harassing people who have no responsibility here. And thanks to the original asker's reply, I feel like I'm really bad at conveying my thoughts so I tend to overexplain lol, but thanks that means a lot.

2) I have seen people confused on this so if you didn't already, you should know that this isn't just about the anniversary so much as the anniversary was a final straw. While Honkai has similar rewards/exchange for irl money as genshin, mihoyo itself has some of the worst in comparison to other gachas from other developers. Games like Arknights, Granblue, Azur Lane, Dragalia Lost, hell even a cutesy casual gacha app like LoveNikki have much better real money to game currency ratios, huge anniversaries where they give out tons of free shit, and much more generous systems (such as Arknights giving free 10 pulls with a lot of events/new characters/etc). All despite being smaller, less profitable games. There's major glaring issues with the game that have gone unresolved for a long time despite people asking over and over to change it. It's a combination of the rewards, general stuff, and mihoyo's refusal to solve certain issues for a long time that has people upset.

In any industry, any company is going to be held to the standards set by the mainstream industry, which is what is happening here. It is natural to hold a company to it's competitors for comparison and expect them to match standards, especially when the company that is lacking is the richer one and could easily meet the standards if they were willing to.

This is especially true for people who put money into the game. Due to the nature of gachas/online games, companies that produce these games are usually very adamant on rewarding players because whales/P2Ws, people who buy welkin and similar stuff, etc keep the game alive. When they do not match the standard of the industry, those people will feel unappreciated and go elsewhere eventually, which means they will not be able to afford much progress, then even F2Ps won't have content, and the game will burn out.

3) I probably should have clarified this last post but, I know review-bombing does seem like a kinda shitty tactic at first and I get that, but the reason people are doing that now is because mihoyo has completely ignored people complaining for months normally, and even now has started to censor and ban people, deleted critical posts, etc. Basically it's clear that mihoyo will just ban and censor criticism until people do something that actually forces them to listen, hence review bombing. Banning/censoring criticism is a really, really bad move for any company, historically speaking, it's insulting to players who keep the company afloat and results in losses. The review bombing + a lot of people uninstalled the app apparently + people who usually pay refusing to do so anymore, all of that hits them to where they can't afford to ignore it when people do it en masse. Because it will cost them money/players.

What people are kinda really upset about, even more than rewards itself, is just the silence and censorship on their end, which is more frustrating than the lack of rewards itself. I did have some sympathy for them up until they started censoring and deleting criticism on their site. At that point they're doing this to themselves by doing that.

4) Also, notably, this has worked with plenty of other game devs. You may remember the disaster that was Fallout 76. Bethesda also responded poorly at first, but spamming bad reviews and horrible coverage for Fallout 76 got Bethesda's attention, and they went the whole nine yards formally acknowledging the complaints and more or less apologizing to the whole world of players at E3 and even gave refunds, which is a very surprisingly humble thing for a company of their level of fame to do. The situation calmed down because people felt listened to, and while Fallout 76 was kinda a lost cause and didn't get fixed, the idea is that the refunds/open and honest communication restored the consumer base's relationship to Bethesda. That was a big blow, but Bethesda was willing to take that hit to maintain the sense of communication and mutual respect/value between players and devs.

In contrast, with mihoyo, what most people have been trying to beg/bargain for for an anniversary rewards is a free permanent banner 5 star, which would cost mihoyo essentially literally nothing.

So far they have responded by banning people for literal years on hoyolab, deleting posts, banning people from various social platforms etc, for criticism. Even putting whether or not that's ok aside, it's very unusual and not how game companies usually handle these things, and can only end badly for them.

Also mihoyo has had time to fix this -- it's not like Fallout 76 where they released the game and then the backlash came very suddenly and they had to scramble to prepare a response/plan and needed time. People have been complaining about these rewards for well over a week, so they could have easily fixed it by now if they had any intention of listening to people's complaints, especially considering the proposed fix of a single free permanent 5 star would be very simple and quick to implement.

5) also? it's extra unfortunate and really a marketing team issue bc they could have *profited* from giving more, if they opened rewards to new players as most gachas do. Genshin is incredibly popular right now, to the extent that a lot of people in the gaming/weeb sphere who don't play it, but still know of it, and even know a bit about it.

If you were someone who had never played genshin but had been considering downloading it for a long time, but just kept putting it off or forgetting, and heard "hey join now and you get free Diluc/Keqing," that would have convinced a lot of people to go ahead and join, and they would inevitably get sucked into the game and bring mhy profit. So it's a little strange imo that they chose not to do that, it would have been beneficial to them.

6) also, be aware that the glider we're now getting was supposed to be paid originally. Releasing it free now is damage control. It's also, well, a glider. Again, while it is pretty, it's paltry in comparison to the industry norm and does not have much use to most people.

Finally, criticizing all of this/the game/mihoyo does not mean people hate the game. I do see some people lashing out in defense of mihoyo and I get that bc they produce something we all really like. I really really do not want to see genshin become "that one game that was super popular for a year or so and then died" -- that's why people want improvements, because if improvements aren't made, that's where it's headed. What people are asking for right now is stuff that is very easily in mihoyo's capability and would not cost them much of anything. It would be one thing to ask them for something that would cut their profits or take time to develop, but that's not what's happening. People are asking for very little in the scope of their capabilities/the norm.

Zhongguang (zhongli x ningguang) (my otp ship ;)) well i also have something to address. Even though i hate twitter, i sometimes go there so i can like my friend's art. Rainbow eyes

'He won't find me here.' Thought a young fiery haired boy.

Diluc, Kaeya and their father arrived in seaside village in Fontaine for a detour. Their carriage got caught in an accident and had to have their wheel replaced. Crepus allowed his sons to roam the area but have to back before sundown. As soon as they went out, Kaeya suggested a game of hide-n-seek in the woods nearby to which Diluc eagerly agreed.

Right now, he was finding the perfect place to hide, unknowingly straying a bit too far.

"Hmm, maybe over he-AHHHHH!" The poor boy walked too far from the path slipped down, fallling into a deep pond. He gasp for breathe, trying to swim to the edge but struggled. Just as he felt his energy began to drain, a large branch lowered down to him.

"Grab on!" A small voice called out. He held on to it, and was slowly being pulled out. Diluc and his savior panted heavily. After catching his breathe, he turned to thank them, and felt the words caught up his throat.

His savior was a girl, and she...was so cute. She had pretty caramel hair in small pigatils, fair vanilla skin and the most striking feature on her were her eyes, they reminded him a rainbow and change like a kaleidoscope.

She wiped the sweat off her brow and looked at him .She wore a white sleveeless dress with black ribbon around her waist and white sandals.

"Are you okay?" She worriedly asked.

"Y-Yeah." He answered.

"Good, I didn't want you to die due to your stupidity." She commented.

That irked him.

"Excuse me?" He squinted his eyes.

"I saw you walking around, clearly distracted and slipped. You like you not from here too, you should now better." She scolded.

"Hey! I-" he stopped himself, because he knew she was right. Shutting his mouth, he cast his gaze on the grass, grumbling.

Suddenly he felt something wiggling within his pants, he shout at feeling, also surprising the girl.

'What's wrong!?"

"There's something inside my pants!"

"Let me help!"

"EEHH!?"

The girl proceeded to grab pants and tried to pull them down, only for Diluc to harshly grab her hands.

"Its improper for a girl to hold a boy's pants!" He reasoned. Struggling to get her hands away

"But what if it lays eggs in your underwear?" She countered.

"What!?"

Thankfully for Diluc, all that wiggling helped the fish escaped, and now back in the pond

The fiery-sighed in relief and he let go of the girl's hands.

"Aww poor fish." She cooed.

"Your more worried about that?" he asked incredulously .

"It smelled your underwear." She snarked.

He was about retort when he sneezed. She giggle and grabbed his hand.

"Come on, Fish pants let's get you dry, my house isn't too far."

"What did you call me?" His narrowed his eyes

"Fish pants, it suits you." She giggled.

"My name is Diluc, not fish pants."

She hummed at his answer and proceeded to lead him deeper through the forest, coming at a small house. Entering the abode it felt oddly cozy. The girl let go of his hand and prepared the fire.

"Remove what you need and place them near the fireplace." She instructed, adding more wood. He removed his vest and shirt and placed them near the the hearth, next is shoes and socks. Diluc sat slightly close, rubbing his hand together for more friction.

"Soo... Where are your parents?" He asked.

"They're on a date." She replied.

"Aren't you a little young to be alone?" He questioned.

"I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself." She shot back.

Once satisfied with fire, the rainbow-eyed girl stood up and made her way into one of the rooms. She then emerged holding a towel, walking over to him and draping over his head.

"Oof, thanks." He said rubbing it on his head.

"Welcome." She took a seat next to him.

A comfortable silence took over, nothing but the sound of flames crackling could be heard. Now that she was closer to him, he noticed there was some kind of scent to her, like caramel and sweet flowers after the rain. It was nice.

"Hey." Diluc spoke up. She made a noise of acknowledgement.

"I never saw eyes like yours."

"My dad said I got my eyes from my great grandmother and I'm a spitting image of her."

"Hold old are you?"

"I'm 6, you?"

"I'm 10."

"Where do you live?" It was her turn to ask.

"In Mondstadt."

"What's it like there?"

"Open fields with strong breezes and...lots of dandelions."

"Sounds nice."

"By the way, what's your name." He inquired.

"I'm Calypso."

After drying off, Diluc and Calypso spent a good time playing together and getting know one another.

Diluc could feel another hot blush creping on his cheeks when the girl tackled him to the ground.

"Yay I win!" She happily exclaimed. He simply laughed.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Why were you in forest in the first place?"

"Oh, I was actually looking for a place to hide and-" A sudden shock of realization went through him.

"Hide-n-seek! I was playing with my brother. I forgot!" He remembered in panic

O-Oh! Then let me help get back, don't worry I know short cut." She quickly took his hand and lead him to a thick set of vines, she pushed them away revealing a small wooden door. Diluc reached for the handle but stopped mid-way, he turned back to her.

"Will... Will I see again?"

"If you slipped into a pond again." She smirked.

He rolled his eyes, and opened the door, Diluc looked back one last time, Calypso waved at him before closing it.

"Diluc!"

"Brother!"

Crepus and Kaeya rushed to the young red head's side hugging hum

"Where were you? I was worried sick."

"What happened? I got so scared when I couldn't find you."

"Umm well, you see.."

He told them how he met a girl with rainbow eyes. Kaeya was in awe but his father had doubts, after all eyes like those couldn't exist.

"And I'm going to marry her one day."

Crepus chuckled and patted his head.

"Of course you will."

Once they got home, Diluc eagerly told the staff about his run-in with girl, and like his father they did not believe him but patiently listened to his story.

But he was determine, to find her again and marry her. No matter how annoying she can get.

"I'm coming back for you Calypso, I swear it on Celestia and the Abyss."
