SPRAINED FINGER  So ya know the saying the 'Show must go on'? I heard the phrase a long time ago and always was the guy that always show up to the gig even if it looked like rain.....I was the guy who never bailed. Even on a expedition to the Kabobo Massif mountain range in the Congo,I made it back on time to the Pasadena Symphony rehearsal with full blown Dengue Fever and a touch of Malaria.(Some of you know I was born in Texas...so an element of exaggeration is excepted)So not long ago, three months, I had a gig at a Country Club out in the Desert and somehow loading the night before I must have sprained my 2nd finger lifting the 2000watt Bass Subwoofers into the Sprinter and over stretched the Flexxo Tendous and damaged the Arrecxtor Pili muscel in my left hand....the hand that is responsible for intonation...vibrato...melody...feeling....almost everyting as its the most crucial finger.Its the biggest and strongest finger and here are the stills from that gig. The grimace, the screwed up face...my eyes were wet with tears at every run up the fingerboard due to the pain. If I forgot and tried to vibrate with the damaged finger...YiksI! I wished for a water boarding torture If it would stop this.I understand why its such an important theory. What would we do if we worried about the Postman coming today, hm are we going have....water....electric....garbage pickup.The Show Must Go On is thought to have been 1st used in the 19th Century when a Ring Master at a Circus was attacked by his Lion. To stop the panic in the audience the clown became instantly the Master of Cermony and told off color jokes to the audience as the carcass of the Ring Master was carted off.Where was my clown.....I was so ready to be carried off the stage.
