It's one thing to know who some of your family voted for... but to know that the current administration embodies and emboldens hatred to spread throughout the country sucks. And to know that people who I love will use that to justify the things they say to me hurts that much more. Saying something rude to someone because you "don't care" and now you don't have to be "woke" makes you a disgusting person. The worst part is they have no idea they're driving a wedge into our already strained relationship. I'm so tired yall. I am tired of having to be quiet and silent when my own family is the one spewing hatred towards not just random people but also me. I don't look at them in the same light. The more I see the less I like. It's the tiny little jabs and comments that I can't respond to because then I'm the asshole. I genuinely don't know what to do or how to navigate this relationship. It's like when you realize your parents aren't perfect but worse. It's a complete and total lack of respect.
