How To Train Your Dragon has been in my life for 9 years, and while some have longer-lasting connections to franchises, I was reminded today of how much joy a true connection to a piece of art can bring you, and how seen it can make you feel. I feel like I’ve learned a bit of how to become an adult with Hiccup and Toothless, and come in to myself. I’ve learned that the world is better when we band together and reach out to others, and that a true partner can make you realize that you are strong enough just the way you are, that changing the system is better than rejecting it outright. And today, I also learned a little bit of how to let go, as beautiful and as painful as that can be. I’ll always love Hiccup, and Toothless, and Berk.
