Boosting your Social Medias 1
Whether it's your Instagram, or YouTube channel, blog, podcast, anything; here are some tips on how to boost them:
Tumblr media
1. No Begging:
When I started my podcast, I begged people to listen and share constantly and at some point, I got really annoyed. I then realized that begging is pretty much useless because the more you beg, the less traction you get. Whatever amount of followers you have, do NOT beg for people to follow or subscribe. That's a toxic move by starters on social media that should be avoided.
2. Advertise as often as Possible
Advertise! You don't beg but you can ADVERTISE! When I set up a petition on change.org , it constantly sent me mail saying: "Did you know that the best petitions are shared 12 times or more?" That applies here meaning that you can advertise! Share your Instagram name tag or Snapcode, or Tikcode (for TikTok) or the link to your Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. If you want followers or subscribers to come to you, you have to go get them yourself.😊
3. Be Consistent
As you know, people on social media don't get famous by posting today and then post the next two months, they are consistent, which brings more traffic to their pages. If you want to boost your social medias, then pick a consistent time frame that works for you.
4. Give People the Truth, not what they want
Sure, you are looking to get more followers or subscribers, great! You know what you want but let's face it, no one likes a liar on social media, especially people who lie about who they are just to get followers. I'm not a fan either. This is the key reason why people lose followers; because they lie about themselves or their bodies or characters. So be authentic. Even if you think you are ugly, be authentic and honest with your followers.
5. No Fake News
You like gossip sure! But if you are a blogger or use Instagram for blogging, NO FAKE NEWS! You're hungry for followers or subscribers, but no fake news! All it takes is for one angry person to write about you somewhere else and post and before you know it, a huge number of followers are gone.
6. #Hashtagging
#Hashtags are really important. Hashtags are used to help people find your post or video. They are also very good points of advertising. So on TikTok, if you use the hashtag #fyp or #duet, someone might find it and duet or might just land in the for you page or if you tag someone else like #charlidamelio , she might find your TikTok and duet or follow. So hashtagging is really important, okay?
Yes, so this is all I have for you guys today, follow and subscribe to this blog and check out the previous post by new writer, @actually_lizzzz . Watch out for our next post

Latest Lockdown News
Halo readers, haven't posted in a while I guess. That was because I started another blog, The True Christian Truth. Click This to have a look. Now for today's latest lockdown news.
1. India Bans TikTok
Tumblr media
Yes this famous app gets a ban in India that has about 119.3 million users. Why so? The Indian government believes China is trying to steal info via the app. The lip-syncing, skits and meme app has been a source of living to others, others a source of learning. Meet Geet. She goes by her first name, Geet on TikTok and she had millions of followers because she dedicated her TikToks to teaching American English. This made her get lots of followers. "How do I learn English now?" an Indian complained. Was this ban for better or worse?
2.The cancellation of school resumption in Nigeria.
Tumblr media
The Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu, has cancelled the resumption of the JSS3s and SS3s for their promotional exams. Although the House of Reps disagrees, I second Mr. Adamu's move. The numbers are catastrophic in Nigeria and seeing as lockdown rules are not being enforced by a good number of citizens, celebrities partying, loitering and flying in and out as they please, law enforcement agencies that are meant to ensure proper enforcement of these laws does not seem to be doing their jobs and seeing as a school is a public and crowded society and a harbour for millions of bacteria and viruses as well, cancelling the reopening was a good idea. Some my age tend to disagree but nonetheless, we are all entitled to our own opinions.
3.I've published a new podcast episode!
Tumblr media
If you're someone like me who is really committed to podcasting, you should know publishing at least an episode a week on an interview podcast is an achievement. Click This to listen and for Apple Podcast users, comment and review. Thanks.
4. Social media apps to ban kids from
Tumblr media
My friends would totally kill me for this but parents, I'm in support with you for this one. Some social media apps are high risk and dangerous to kids and teens. Here's a list along with valid reasons why so you may want to rethink your decision on allowing your kids or teens on all social media platforms:
a. Snapchat: As innocent as the app looks, it does have its privacy issues and is the best app for sexting. Sexting meaning sending sexually explicit messages and pics. On Snapchat, messages you send can be deleted automatically within 24 hours or as they are sent, meaning that it makes it easy for parents to not track their texts.
b. Whisper: This confession app allows you to make confessions on the app and keeps the identity of the users anonymous but not completely- the app uses GPS tracking meaning, a pervert or pedophile can track a user and kidnap, murder or rape a user. In 2013, a girl was raped by a fellow Whisper user who tracked her.
(Note that this is not to make any parents scared of social media but to advice them to be cautious of what their kids do with social media, who they associate with on these platforms and what platforms they are on. This doesn't mean your children should be permanently banned but rather be kept on close watch)
For more of these, stay tuned for my next blog post, Social Media Dos and Don'ts on Apps

The Abuja Uprising: End Rape Now!
On Friday 5th June, protests erupt in Abuja, and on our various social media on sexual and gender based crimes. With the recent rape and gender related crime cases coming as testimonies from different people from all over, some people taking to various social media handles with recent tags: #stopblamingvictims #justiceforuwa #justicefortina #justiceforjennifer. The protests go as far as to the Police Headquarters in Abuja although there are also protests in Lagos.
Tumblr media
The protests here can be compared to the ones all over in USA. After all, there is a similarity: fighting for equality in a certain aspect. In retrospect, meaning that we aren't so different. Here is a Twitter post from an activist:
Tumblr media
P.S: This is a screenshot
So, do you think these victims are totally to blame? To my readers everywhere, do you think they deserved this gruesome pain? Before we start pointing fingers, let's take time to have a good reality check: Even if they did deserve this, why this? Rape doesn't just traumatize, it kills! These innocent girls and women, either lured via the social media or on the road, have dreams and aspirations those rapists don't know about: They don't understand that they are human too not sex toys to be used and disposed of. They get unwanted pregnancies: children are brought into the world where their mothers sometimes wish they never happened, they get all sorts of infections that can lead to death or even infertility and others just kill themselves because they feel there is no use living.
Tumblr media
We need a people friendly world for our sake and the sake of the generation to come. For any rape activists reading this, I say kudos and keep up your excellent job no matter how hard because they are taking great steps in changing our world. To rape victims out there, COME OUT!!

The George Floyd Experience
So, we have heard of the recent events of police brutality in USA and the tragic death of George Floyd, a man who did not deserve to die the way he did- in such shameless brutality by a police officer with no regard for his dignity and life. This and other many other recent attacks on African Americans by police has now erupted into civil unrest in form of riots ranging from peaceful to violent in different cities and states across the US.
Tumblr media
This isn't the first, second or third time. 26 year old Breonna Taylor was shot eight times at midnight on 13th March this year which also caused an uprising although not immediately. There have also been more of these attacks in the previous years ranging from something as simple as stopping black drivers on the road for no reason, to battery and assault to racial slurs and to killing. As from the Guardian, there have been 1093 people killed by the police in 2016 and still counting, meaning that this is not just affecting a particular race but a whole bunch of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are pictures of people who have been killed as a result of police brutality:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the complete list, see https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2015/jun/01/the-counted-police-killings-us-database
Just because your race isn't here does not mean you are going out scot free. We all have to globalize and end racial segregation once and for all. It isn't okay to throw slurs at each other because of our skin or language or any factor.
I end with this, we must all fight this battle to put an end to this because in case you never put this thought into consideration- you could have been the neck under that police officer's knee instead of George Floyd irrespective of your race and you could have been shot dead 8 times instead of Breonna Taylor again irrespective of your race. If you are avictim of racial brutality and are not speaking up, SPEAK OUT NOW! Do not hold back because you could put your life and the life of others at risk. If you are an eyewitness, you can't keep on witnessing and shut up, IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING! For being an eyewitness you are now obliged to do so, lest that innocent person's blood is also on you and if you are a person being harsh to others because of their race, I suggest you get help so you stop hurting innocent people. They don't deserve it.
