"I doubt you'd like much of it, it's mostly from my time," she teases.
"I can't make that kinda call, I don't know any of your crew well enough," Darcy shakes her head. "But I know from personal experience the doc struggles with any moves that aren't an established strategy"
Arthur was relaxing in his quarters when his first officer calls him. “Sir, we’re approaching our rendezvous point with the Gala.”
“Understood Number One, I’m on my way up.” He replied setting down his book and taking a turbolift up to the Excalibur’s bridge. “Comms, hail the Gala when we’re in range.” He ordered sitting in the captain’s chair.

When the screen displays the Gala's bridge, Darcy is mid flipping back right side up in her chair, having fallen backwards into it while talking with one of her officers. "Don't mind our captain, we just have no idea how she's survived every battle she's fought," her communications officer says from off screen with a deep sigh.
Darcy chuckles, her face tinted a bright green, "should probably be wondering how I survived the venomous insects course at the academy instead, honestly..."

Darcy leans back and thinks for a bit. "Well, even on earth in my time there's a hierarchy in food, those who are upper class get better food... a lot of races do that, and it's not based in logic but rather opinions and social norms... Maybe they conflated correlation with causation?" She shrugs. "We can ask your comms officer, or my doc, what exactly the hang up there is but... Right now, I want to try something non vegan"

"Any chance Mathews would have been allowed to help your chef?" She asks. "I think you'd like what he makes, it's usually comfort foods from all around the alpha quadrant. His cranberry vinaigrette salad dressing tastes really close to what my mom made when I was a kid, absolutely perfect for a stressful Borg filled day like this," she chuckles

"N-no, don't bother, it's more sanitary and comfortable in here, sorry," Bones clears his throat, keeping his gaze at a respectful level. "Just, uh... Need her medical file on a data pad is all," Bones goes over to the desk and grabs the data pad he needs, "I'll black out the window wall for ya," he says as he turns to leave, fidgeting with the settings and once the window wall is blacked out he leaves the room to give her privacy.
Once Spock comes in a few minutes later Bones nods to Darcy, "alright, Miss White, tell our resident Vulcan expert here how you treat your raised adrenaline levels... In your natural voice."
Darcy purses her lips, feeling her cheeks turn green. "I, uh... I use medical marijuana..." Her thick southern drawl returns and Spock raises a brow.
"And how do you administer your prescribed dose?" He asks, inferring from her calling it medical that it's been prescribed formally.
"I, uh... I put it in my salad..." She pronounced the a's in salad two different ways.
Spock excuses himself to go stand in a corner and meditate. "I think... He's trying not to laugh..." Bones whispers, wide eyed. "I think your accent broke him..."
Darcy sighs deeply, looking tired. "It does that... I've had someone compare it to meeting a Klingon with a posh British accent... Then they met the cook on my last ship, Mathews, and they bruised a rib laughin'... His momma was a British chef, his daddy was half Vulcan half Klingon... He's got the ears, and he's a good foot shorter than I am, but otherwise he looks Klingon..."
Bones can't help but snort picturing this cook. "Your last ship sounds... Amazingly inclusive..."
"Right up until you met the doc, she was a Vulcan who lived her whole life on Vulcan before joining star fleet... Always put me down for being raised by humans"
@logic-is-the-begining-of-wisdom
Kirk enters the med bay to speak with Bones. "Hey, we got a new nurse boarding today, she's got two kids, try not to be an ass."
"When am I ever an ass to women and children?" Bones sasses.
"Well, you're an ass to Spock so we can only assume until these new vulcans board. Her kids and our new bug expert."
"Thought you just said she was a nurse?"
"She is, she's human, the new bug expert is Vulcan. C'mon, doc, we got a ton of transfers coming in today, keep up, should be in your inbox."
Bones pulls up the notation and stares for a moment. "How did the Vulcan find out she's allergic to dandelions and specifically that this allergy gets worse when consuming them?"
"I hear dandelion salads are pretty popular, and vulcans are vegan, maybe she tried a new recipe and had an emergency? I dunno, you're the doctor!" Kirk leaves
Adeline breezes into the office. With a baby strapped to her. She’s got a sweet smile on even though she looks like she’s not had a good sleep in over a month.
“Hey. You must be Doctor McCoy?” She asks. With a nod. She seems the kind of person who would usually be a hugger. But something about her is closed off and withdrawn.
“My name is Adeline Sutton. And this here is Briar Rose.” She caresses the back of the little blonde baby’s head. “Captain Kirk?” She asks looking at his pins.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you sir. I’ve read a lot about you.” She tucks some honey blonde hair behind her ear.
“Sorry I’m late. I had to get my son Jasper settled. He’s not too pleased about the move and all.”

"Y-yes, I was, ma'am... Adopted by a human couple, actually, I, uh... I didn't meet another Vulcan until I started college..." Darcy explains nervously. "I-i only recently broke the habit of shakin' everybody's hand when I meet them..."
Bones sighs, shaking his head and taking his reading glasses off. "Right, Spock's gonna have a field day with you... Hop on a table, I'll be right out," he gestures for her to take a seat while he finishes up showing Adeline where all the office supplies are.
Once he's got her settled, he heads out of the office to start scans on Darcy, and right away her base adrenaline levels alarm him. "Finals really must have stressed you out, huh kid?" He asks casually.
"I've actually been out of the academy and in the field for a year now..." Darcy mumbles, making her high adrenaline levels even more concerning.
"What ship did you transfer from?" He stares worried at the screen.
"One that ain't fit to fly no more..." Darcy only half lies, technically it wasn't built yet, but in her time it's been blown up. "We had a lot of fun ins with the Borg, doc, I've been taking meds for the adrenaline but it ain't bad much chance to go down yet..."
"Right... What are you taking?" He asks.
She shifts awkwardly. "Medical marijuana in my lunchtime salad..."
He nearly drops his glasses, and reaches for his comms badge. "Spock to med bay, this new Vulcan nearly just gave me two heart attacks..."
After a pause Spock responds over comms, "how?"
"You gotta hear it for yourself, green blood"

Bones sighs, "well, if he makes any friends like Spock has in me, the bullying won't stop... I make fun of him for everything, but he knows it's all in good fun because I've actually said it out loud when I thought he was gonna die once... He still hasn't let me live that down. If he makes a friend like Spock has with Kirk... He's probably going to get in a bunch of trouble for the rest of his life..."
He grabs a box of tissues for her without asking, and is about to answer when someone runs into the main room of the medbay. A young Vulcan woman with a messy French bun and a tiny bee embroidered on the sleeve of her dress, not regulation and definitely not logical.
"Sorry, doc, I had a box of Klingon squirting beetles and they breeched containment, had to lure them back in with food!" The Vulcan woman speaks with a thick southern drawl and doesn't abide so strict to grammar rules, causing Bones' jaw to drop as he stares at her through the office window wall. She notices and her cheeks turn a dusty green color. "Oh, uh..." She clears her throat. "Sorry, I forget that throws people off until they get to know me," she's softened the accent but it still seeps through, and she still speaks casually

"It's perfectly fine, Spock has explained the hand thing to all of us, if you've spent so much time surrounded by Vulcans to have two kids with one, it's only reasonable that you'd get used to it," Bones chuckles, watching the baby. "She's a beauty, and a lot more lively than the half Vulcan science officer we got"

"I don't generally need much help with the treatments, everyone's pretty healthy on this ship," Bones starts, leading her towards the office space. "It's the paperwork that I struggle most with, even with my glasses I can't read it," he chuckles, picking his reading glasses off the desk and putting them on, reading some of the titles of the forms before handing them off to her to show her. "It's less the size of the print and more the wording, I started at a small town southern clinic, nothing was very formal there"

That bug expert might be, depending on her reason, she's gotta get her annual check up done," Kirk shakes his head, leaving to go find the bug expert.
Bones decides right away she'll mostly be doing paperwork so she doesn't have to leave her child unattended or get her too close to sick crew members. "Welcome aboard, Adeline, glad you could join us"
