+ LOGAN ZEPHYR SHOOTING RANGE
Santi would be lying if he said he wasn’t shocked to see Logan’s again after all these days. Contact had dwindled and, by then, he though that Logan was enough of an adult to make the decision to talk to him (or not) without it being imposed. It’s clear that he’s no longer a teenager. The past month has been filled with conflicting emotions: concern over his presence in what feels like a powder keg of a city, and joy at the fact that he wanted to be there at all. He can’t help the smile that breaks out across his face when he spots him standing outside his office at the range. “You here for a lesson, Lo?” He doesn’t think before drawing the younger man into a brief hug. How can he pretend to be removed and aloof where Logan is concerned? Santi’s good, but he’s not that good. Things have been a bit awkward since Logan showed up a month ago, not because Santi didn’t want him there, more because he wasn’t sure where they stood. So he tries to act as normal but it’s easier said than done after all this time. @logan-jonasse
A month is long enough for a lot of things. Logan is beginning to remember the city, despite his memories telling him that it was bigger the last time he was there. It’s long enough for him to feel at ease with the new routine, even if turning up unannounced at a ranch isn’t the most sane thing to do. However, a month isn’t long enough to know whether or not he should call Santiago his dad again. He wants to, because in his mind he will always be it, but time is cruel in a lot of ways. It created more of a distance than the physical one between them, frequent texts became sporadic and frequent phone calls ended up with painful silences. There is no lack of love though, supported by a deep understanding that life decided to be unfair to the two of them. As Logan surprises Santi at the shooting range, he accepts the hug happily. “Yeah, I thought I should know how to..bust a few caps...” he laughs, and cringes at his joke, as he pulls back from Santi. “I er, was actually thinking of lunch or something but you know what? I think your idea sounds better.” he lights up, knowing learning how to shoot will be more of a focus point than trying to bring years of separation up to speed.

xavier:
silver spur ranch
@logan-jonasse
The ranch was getting fuller, with old and new faces but Xavier always remembered Silver Spur being like that. He also had strong memories of Logan, overshadowed by Rose’s death and him leaving when Xav was eight. Nobody knew that things could get worse than that, but they did. They stayed in contact as they got older but then like life always happened, things faded. But, back in the flesh it felt like no time had passed at all. “Wait, what? You had to do that? Dude that’s fucking gross.” Xavier laughed at the story, shaking his head. “Just poop, everywhere? Like…everywhere?”
“Dude I’ve seen way worse than poop.” Logan laughs about the story and he does find small hints of glee in sharing the gory and gross details to whoever’s willing to listen. He never thought one of those people would be Xavier again, growing up together until life decided to have other plans. Strange how it works, Logan thinks. They all ended up back to where it all started, a sad and very elongated loop. “There’s a reason why so many of us at the ER can’t stress about flared bases enough.” he laughs again, walking to the fridge to collect two beers. “In a way it’s kinda no different to working on a ranch except instead of animals doing weird things, it’s like...humans doing weird things. And every time you think you’ve seen the weirdest, someone tops it with something weirder.”

Basic Info:
full name: Logan Jonasse gender & pronouns: cismale he/him age & date of birth: 25, December 10th 1998 where do they live: Rural time living in lockwood springs: 1 month occupation: Nurse at Rocky Mtn Medical Center positive traits: Curious, Driven, Empathetic negative traits: Jealous, Resentful, Aimless
Logan was born and raised in Lockwood Springs to a single mother, Rose Janasse. She worked hard to keep a roof over their heads and Logan was always the apple of her eye. When she met Santiago Silva, there were no awkward silences or questions about what place the man would fill. The duo became a trio seamlessly and Logan always looked up to him as a father. After all, he was the only father he ever had.
Logan had nothing but respect for Santiago and his impressive rank within the Navy Seals even if it meant long periods of time without seeing each other. It didn’t feel like they had long enough together before life dealt them a cruel hand. A fatal car accident took Rose’s life, turning both of their worlds upside down for many different reasons.
Due to Santi being overseas, Logan was moved to Philadelphia to be with his grandparents and they took full guardianship of him. Being so far away and trying to build a new life without either of his parents made Logan lose all sense of himself. Dealing with grief ontop of it all created a difficult teenager and as a result, Logan fell behind in comparison to the rest of his peers.
He didn’t attend college until he was twenty, finally giving in to his grandparents wishes for him to follow a career path in medicine like them. It wasn’t where his passion was, but it was better than nothing. Logan considered himself out of choices, wanting to return to Lockwood but knowing he needed to have done something that would make his mother proud. He stuck out college, much to his dismay, and earned his bachelors. Communication with Santiago became sparse but Logan never blamed him, life became busy, conversations became difficult and eventually it became 5 years since they last spoke.
Throughout all the years, Logan has always kept an eye on job opportunities in Colorado for any chance to try and get back to his roots. When a position was available at the medical center, he jumped at it even if it meant seeing Santiago for the first time in years. He arrived at Silver Spur Ranch with nothing but a few of his things. He doesn’t expect them to be exactly like they used to be, but they’re together again and that’s a start.
