i fear my go-to tool for writing (what i consider my most) beautiful poetry and prose is personification. i will assign a gender and/or vibe to everything i’m writing about

How fucking annoying is it when you feel so restless with creative energy but you can’t decide what to do with it and when you finally try to create something it comes out shit so you just give up and sit there being all creatively annoyed and jittery.

I really want to write a book before I die. I want to always have proof of all the times I thought my world would end and I kept going. I want my kids to have evidence of my vulnerability and my darkness. I want to write ,so those I love can find comfort in feeling seen. I don’t want fame. I just want to find a way to reach into those I love and make them feel less alone.

i remember being a young girl and loving books. i read them all the time, but the vocabulary in my brain didn’t always match the vocabulary in the book. (this was before nooks and iPads and kindles.) in came old trusty: the dictionary. i had a huge, heavy dictionary. i don’t remember who published it, but it had a red and blue front cover. oh how i love that dictionary for the access it gave me to wor[l]ds i had never known before. opening it and flipping through it. finding new and interesting words outside of the words i initially began searching for. i wonder where it is and how it’s doing.

my favorite part of relying on my own brain is being able to be like i admire this author so much, i think they have brilliant ideas, but i can see that we would disagree on this point based on the knowledge that i have constructed on my own.
