Ahm, hello Life is Strange fandom- I got an announcement

I have been working on my own LiS fan visual novel

This is VortexVN,

You play as Victoria waking up from a hangover with no memory of the week prior, you are tasked with piecing together what happened between her and one of the 4 love interests.

And of course the love interests are:

-Chloe (Chaseprice)

-Max (Chasefield)

-Kate (Chasemarsh)

-Rachel (Amberchase)

The game starts with a quiz; you unlock a route by picking answers related to the character you wanna romance (they are very obvious)

It takes place in an AU where the events of LiS1 and BtS didn't really happen and there are no special powers, Victoria's still a bi tch- I guess that's her special powers.

Think of this game as a spiritual successor to Love is Strange by Team Rumblebee rather than Life is Strange 1

Gameplay so far is your typical point and click visual novel affair, you will be given options to explore rooms, examine objects and talk to other characters- the interactions will play a crucial part in how the game ends,

You can win the girl or get rejected or worse... It will depend on how Victoria carried herself throughout the game,

Mistreating certain characters may prove to be a dealbreaker for the love interest,

Each girl has two close friends in the dorm that you should not upset (I'll reveal who in the guide pdf)

This game is also perfect for Victoria haters as you can ruin her life

The game has its own journal system that will be different depending on who you're romancing, it also comes with a read button (I blurred most of the text so you can get curious and play the game)

Read button will display the journal content in Open Dyslexic font

In the demo you'll only get to explore Victoria's room and the dorm hallways and you'll get two encounters from Juliet (Showers) and Alyssa (Hallway)

VortexVN is still in development, I have finished part.1 of the project and will start polishing it soon- the initial build of part.1 will be available to play as a demo!

The cutscenes lack color and proper shading at the moment and you will find placeholders as well, the art style is all over the place- this will change after the polishing phase

Note: I'm not monetizing this project nor do I claim ownership of the Life is Strange ip, all materials and assets presented in this visual novel were either created by me or are royalty free- I did not lift anything from the games via data mining or by leaks

This game is not a response to or a gotcha at Life is Strange Double Exposure or Deck Nine, I didn't really dislike the game

Besides, I've had the idea of a Victoria centric fan game since the first LiS back in 2015

Tips on making a tadc au and getting it viewed?

uhh , be self indulgent ! don't create an au just because you think it hasn't been created yet . create an au because you think it's funny and you're insane enough to develop it . i've been giggling and kicking my feet writing a tadc x misery crossover au knowing it'll only appeal to Me . think of it as playing dolls with the canon characters , you're making things happen because you Want them to happen .

so like yeah don't worry about being original . i see a looot of human or virus tadc aus and i keep eating them up . they're always so different and interesting i'll never get tired of them . ( but also i'm just not into tadc aus that aren't canon-adjacent . so when i come across an au that doesn't alter things too much i put it in my mouth )

but that's all i have really ... ! it's hard to explain other than ' do what you want ' because that's essentially what my tadc aus are . it's a thinly veiled character study on ragatha and me smashing my two interests together . they both overlap .

half of the audience for this au came from an ask blog so i already got a headstart when i made this comic . from my experience in other fandoms — if you want to get it viewed , make content for it ! create comics , or post fanfics if that's more your forte . even an Animation would be great as well . if those are too much work , creating a blog for the au and posting art about it would be fine as well (: just anything to feast upon beyond the introductory post would have people thinking and asking .

I wanna break down the FunnyGummy farewell scene real quick because there’s so much to it that it’s making me feral

Pomni catches Gummigoo and it seems like she wants to try and reconnect with him despite knowing that’s not her Gummigoo.

Now I know there’s a lot of people who believe this Gummigoo subconsciously remembers her, but I genuinely think he doesn’t and that he’s a complete factory reset, because you can see just how uncomfortable he feels being followed by a woman who somehow knows his name yet from his perspective they’ve never met.

And if Pomni wants to rekindle the friendship she lost, or at the very least try to explain how she know’s Gummigoo, she’d have to tell him everything.

The fact that he’s an NPC.

The fact that his buddies as NPC’s as well.

The fact that any memories and personality he has are manufactured for the role Caine wants him to play.

The fact that he fucking died.

That’s a lot to dump on a guy just as he’s walking out the door after having a nice breakfast.

And as Pomni’s struggling to make her next move, we then get this little moment

She turns back…to look at Ragatha. (btw I think it’s cute how Rags is having a nice conversation with an NPC she never got to interact with because she was uh…little occupied during that particular adventure)

Ragatha who’s been consistently been making an effort to welcome her and trying to be her friend despite the rough start. Who she finally decided to show her appreciation for her continuous efforts. Who she can still make good memories with.

And it’s here that Pomni realizes that as much as it’d be nice to have Gummigoo back in her life…he’s not real…but Ragatha is. (Which is incidentally exactly when the track “Somebody Real” begins to play in the background here, which is the same track that plays during Pomni’s convo with Gummi in ep 2)

Gummigoo means a lot to Pomni because he’s the first friend she made in the Circus, but she also feels partly responsible for his entire worldview becoming shattered. She doesn’t want to put him through that again, man was devastated the first time he had to learn about what he was.

Not only that, but she also failed to help him feel like a real person when she took him back to the Circus.

It was never going to work out.

So she lets him go, but also gives herself the chance to say a proper goodbye. She gets the much needed closure she was denied when Caine decided to just obliterate him without warning. And Gummigoo gets to go live in complete ignorance and bliss.

I also like to think that the last thing on his mind as he left was “What a strange little character.”

Also…I think Ragatha would be happy to know that Pomni decided to stay and hang out with the rest of them over continuing to “flirt” with the GummyGuy.
