I’m not a fan of Meghan but honestly why wouldn’t she try to lock down an income after a divorce (especially because I suspect this was shopped around in 2019-2020 when divorce might have been a real option for her because Harry really sold her a life that wasn’t true). If they get divorced I don’t think Harry’s the one with the money. Diana only got a large settlement because Charles had the duchy, Fergie who’d be Meghan’s equivalent didn’t get near as much + she was on better terms with the family so wasn’t “cast out”.

Harry has a big support network to fall back on, people who have once built up his reputation and they can do it again, because the family and the media seems hell bent on blaming Meghan for it all despite it being Harry who’s done the worst things imo. And maybe a book about him would make Harry understand what he did to his father and brother, because reading that article he really comes across as the biggest idiot. I understand your point that the article doesn’t affect them professionally since they’re already struggling in that area, but I think it hurts them even more because it’s not coming from the British press. The article doesn’t actually say anything new – the only real difference is the sources. However, because it’s from a major US publication, especially one that’s influential in Hollywood, it adds more credibility to what’s already been said. It’s essentially confirmation from a significant and seemingly impartial source about something negative, and it impacts them �� especially her – quite strongly. In that sense, I do think it affects their professional image quite a lot.

As for the rest, I completely agree with you. This makes their relationship look bad and raises doubts about how genuine it really is. I mean, it doesn’t add up that Meghan would be pitching the idea of a book about a divorce if it wasn’t something that was at least being considered. And honestly, I think Harry comes off poorly too – the article portrays him as dull and uncreative, like someone who learned one trick in life and that’s all he’s got.

I agree with you that the VF article will not damage Harry and Meghan professionally, partly because they have successfully created a narrative that the media lies about them, that the british media in particular just makes things up. And the tabloids feeds into this by reporting and hyper fixating on the dumbest shit that just doesn’t matter — which means that the actually damaging reports, like the toxic workplace issues, gets put into the same category as the cost of Meghan’s wardrobe.

I have many thoughts about how the media reports on the royals overall, and how it’s too much focus on gossip instead of actual problematic things (like why doesn’t William follow the precedent of his grandmother and father and say how much he pays in tax? Is it because he doesn’t pay any at all? Or wtaf is the brf doing in the Middle East atm, because don’t think I haven’t noticed how many times they’ve met those leaders in the past months. In my unpopular opinion, I think the Vanity Fair article on the Sux’s “professional” life is not that damaging, it’s just telling stuff that’s already been reported (and basically confirmed).

I love reading RFP outbreaks everytime M gets criticized for anything and dragging Kate into this gor no reason. She lives in USA, in California, they have appeared on Netflix and Oprah, yet all the people that criticize her its Kate's fans. 🙄 I didn't know royal fans where such a big thing out of UK to control the narrative. If it's a small number why to bother what they think of her. It's like Charles and Camila's newsest fans that dislike W&C, they might be annoying, same saying horrible things about the Waleses but they are not a big deal. She didn't accuse the British press but some fans. These people are not Kate's fans. They are Meghan's haters, some may use Kate's photos, because she is the enemy of their enemy, they Don't care for her.
